Received a call this evening, I have to say that the guy on the end of the line was, for once, very polite. This time they were doing market research on TV watching and he said there was even a 'cash incentive' for answering questions. Anyhow, still not up for answering their questions so I declined his offer and asked him to remove my telephone number from their database and he said he was sorry to have disturbed me! (Are they now being nice?!)

They keep calling me even though i tell them i am not interested in taking part in their survey. The last time they called me i asked them to hold on and i just left them holding on until they eventually rang off.

Just had a call from this number today (Sunday). Again, I am ex-directory so asked where they got the number from. Said it was something to do with randomised dialing. I said I wasnt interested and hung up. This was for research about television watching.

just got this number on my mobile same excuses as above and same people doing a research to watching tv channels. on behalf of ofcom she said.....gave 5 out of 10 for the answers then got bored and hung up.

wow they asked me for all my stuff bank details etc hung up straight away didnt want to say who they were very suspicious

Ive had a load of calls today and yesterday about "Market Research" for my Business bank account (with HSBC). I said call back later as I believed it was HSBC. Luckily I missed the calls today so googled the number and found this site

I fond GFKNOP website and called their main land line number which is:

I rung it and got answered quick. I said I'd been getting calls from this company and didnt want them and to be removed. She put me through to some other woman and I said I wanted to be taken off the list.

I gave her my mobile number they had been calling (I had no choice) and she said, "Are you with HSBC" and I said yes. She said ok, she'd take me off their calling list.

To be fair, both women were polite about it all.

I suggest you ring the above number and just get taken off the list.

Received call from this number in rather inconvenient time and I asked politely if they can call back in about 10 minutes on which they just hung up!!! Does anyone got anything nice to say about these people??

Do these people know when the most inconvenient time is to call? Alway when putting babies to bed or cooking, leave me alone!!!!!

repeated calls to my fax number. A complete intrusion considering this is xdirectory and is currently and has been telephone preference listed for years

Got a missed call at 2:30pm on 13/5/2009.  No business with anyone at this number.  Gkad I didnt answer it.

I had a call from this number and the female was very rude. There was no mention of market research.
I told her the person she wanted to speak to wasn't here at the moment and could I take a message. she just said it was regarding the company and that she will phone back later then hung up on me!!!

Next time i'll just say i'm not interested and put the phone down on them!

Several calls from people asking for my 16 year old son by name to do a survey, we are also x-d. He finally took a call, they said they were GFK and he said that he wasn't interested in doing the survey. Hopefully they won't bother any more.
The only thing he has done recently from which they could have got his name and the landline number is get online insurance quotes.

Received a call from the number today asking for my girlfriend by name; I said she wasn't in and could I take a message, they just hung up. Called the number given to me by 1471, and was told it was market research for GFK.

The thing that concerned me most was that they had my girlfriend's name even though our number is ex-diirectory. All seemed very dodgy to me...

OK,Calmed down. This was an automated call,I could tell..there was a silence when i answered,then i said hello and heard a click and was put through to some dumb woman who could barely speak English for God's sake. Asked me if I was having a good day, I replied "until you called and disturbed me" then asked me to take part in answering market research questions. I'm sorry, but Sunday afternoon??!! Received call this evening (Sunday)  I never answer calls where I don't recognise the number but always look them up.  Thanks for everyone's info.

I have had that number dialling me many times & like other folk, I am ex-directory etc. I've invested in TrueCall which blocks all these callers and many others you may wish to block. My landline is a "new" number to me but who ever had it before got rid because of debt collectors etc.

I now have peace and quiet and the only calls I receive are the ones I want. If a call gets through who I don't want, I can block it without saying a word. The machine tells them to replace the receiver and not dial again. If they do, they will not get through. I recommend everyone to buy one.

Just had a call from this company, GFK NOP, asking for my husband by name.  I told them he was at work.  He explained he was calling from a market research company who was working with a company my husband is a customer of, but under data protection he couldn't tell me who the company was.  He said he would call back.  Actually very polite, London accent (London number), unlike most cold calls we get.  We'll see if/when they call back (my husband won't answer any questions anyway so they'll be wasting their time if they do!)
