Didn't answer but knew I didn't know anyone with this number. Googled just to see which area and found it crops up often. Glad I didn't waste my time.

Received a call from this number @18.40 and it was a young man with an indian accent. He asked for me using my full name, I said "who's calling" he said confirm this is you and said my name again. I basically said if you don't confirm who you are then I am certainly not going to confirm who I am! Goodbye!

That emplanes a lot

Just got a call from this number - called himself Darren Holland and said he was calling on begalf of Barclays. Said he wanted to do a survey about my last call with Varclays. This is so not OK - most people would think that it was Barclays the way they word it. Be Careful!!

This is a genuine number for GfK, who are one of the most reputable market research companies out there. The person on the phone should tell you who they are, and it they don't it is a disciplinary matter.

How idiotic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If they are that serious, why do they call me, who is by the way Norwegian and lives in Norway, and ask me questions in english. How the heck could they know if I speak english or not???????? Please do call me again, but do speak in Norwegian the next time!!!!!!!

this number tonight on my business line, luckily it's on answerphone and they ring off as soon as they realise, I always 1471 then straight on websites such as this to see who it was!! . Lost count of the number of silent, selling, debt collecting and 'research' calls I have had since having the phone installed just over a year ago.....seriously thinking of changing the number, but I don't really think that would help. I'll just add all the details on here from now on, at least make others aware!

They called me today I answered the phone they hung up. Not the first time !.
If my wife or daughter answers the phone they then asked questions about this and that when challenged they are doing market research avoid answering our question about how did you get our number and the like.
So annoy them as much as they annoy me/us I intend to when their offices are open next week:

Looks like this number has started up again. Was a missed call on 27th June. Called on 28th June but hung up when I answered phone.

They called me at 8.20pm .. and I am registered with TPS!  Obviously TPS doesn't work?

Hi All unwanted callers  I found an e.mail for 2 of the customer services reps for this company one is
lindsay.betteridge@gfk.com     the other is mark.mclaughlin@gfk.com best thing about this 2nd rep is I have his mobile number which is [removed: author request] I get free calls on my mobile so I phoned him a few times on saturday night and asked him why his company was phoning me,  oh dear he didnt like it one bit,I also made a point of filling up lindsays and marks e.mail in boxes wit a lot of e.mails .so now I will sit back and see what happens. Maybe if we all phoned mark or e.mails them they might take our numbers of their data base

Just an update  Mark Phoned me back said he was sorry and would remove my number of the data base when he got back to the office on Monday (hes in scotland at the min)  I think my calls to him on a saturday night  hit home  Also he told me if called again before monday answer the call and tell who ever is on the phone that Mr Mark McLaughlin will be removing your number when he gets back to the office  or you could phone him yourself at [removed: author request] best make it at an inconvenient time or a few more e.mails to their in box might help

Got a call from this number. They said they were commissioned by HSBC to check customer satisfaction, started asking if I had regular dealings with bank and asked when last I had been into branch. I informed them I am not main account holder they the asked to speak to my husband. When told he did not want to speak they hung up.
I contacted HSBC who said they do not recognise this company.

Just missed a call from this number - am on O2 Ireland network. Sunday afternoon wtf?!

Got a call from them early evening today. They claimed to be telephoning on behalf of HSBC. I said (correctly) that I was too busy to take part in their survey. I am on TPS and ex-directory.

We got a call from this number on 21st July at 20.52 hrs. Let me tell you peeps if they phone my number again they had better up their insurance premiums.

Just had a call from this no. Only had to search 02078 on Google for this thread to come up! Asked for my partner by name, sort of, as it's a foreign name and difficult to pronounce if you're reading it off a screen for the first time. She's out, I asked who was calling and they said they'd call back later. It's nearly 9pm already, so they'd better not.
