I have been receiving phone calls from a so called company called P C Masters with a foreign chap called "Peter" telling me i have a problem with my Microsoft Windows & that they have been receiving error reports from my computer!  To date they have rung everyday up to 3 times & gradually i am getting rather hacked off!

On asking him where he got my tel number from his answer was from his database, when i asked for a name he could not tell me who he was speaking to.  I requested that he removed my nuimber from his records and he refused to do it, questioned why and he said he would not and that he would ring back later.  Numerous times told him that i want my details removed and all he could say was that he liked listening to my voice ... perv or wot???? With that i hung up.

How do i stop these pains in the [***] from ringing?

An Indian lady called me from Online PC Masters, trying to make me go on a program called 'Event Viewer', saying that Microsoft had informed them that there was a fault with my computer. I asked her how she got my number, and she claimed that there was a tracking device in my computer and that's how she got the number. There is nothing wrong with my computer at all

I received a call yesterday and got the impression that it was from BT offering an extra service.
As my PC had been playing up I accepted their offer.

They spent several hours sorting out my PC but when I tried to use it again became aware that there was no longer any anti-virus program.

When I phoned them today they did not want to discuss matters

I received a call on 22 march 2011, @8pm from an indian sounding man by the name "Peter Adam" who claimed he was calling from microsft company based in Luton. He said he was offering to help sort out the problems on my computer as, he alleged,  it was running too slow because of some newly released viruses which can't be detected by any of the known anti-virus kits. Somehow he managed to remotely control my system and kept on saying that he was loading some special software on my pc, for free as a long standing and most valued Microsoft client, to tackle the critically dangerous viruses he claimed my computer was infested with. But before long he insisted I should buy a one year support service for £79.95 which he asserted would also cover a lifelong privilege to use free antivirus kit of my choice which sounded too good to be true. When I started to suspect the whole claim I asked if he could give me their website address in order to make sure what he claimed was genuine and he reluctantly gave me the address www.onlinepcmasters.co.uk but wouldn’t let me go through the website as he ferociously insisted I should buy the service plan immediately or otherwise he would unload all the software he said he had loaded on my computer and he threatened  I would face a critical problem for not buying their service plan. God only knows what they did to my computer it immediately started playing up and behaving quite unusually weird. On the next day I found my computer was unable to initialize any application whatsoever and now it is completely out of use. Although I tried to contact the police, they said there was nothing they could do to help.

I have just received a call from "Austin" at Online PC Masters" claiming that my computer was infected by a Trojan virus. An indian sub-continent accent. I said I would call him back as I had to switch my computer on. He told me that his real name was Joy Austin, that he was from Luton and that I could call him on 01932 569565

I received a call from an Asian gentleman as all the above. I handed the call over to my daughter who works in IT when she started to question him he got quite rude so she hung up. He rang back several times so I put the answer phone on. My daughter found this site, and I found it very helpful. Is there some authority that these calls can be reported to. There wasn't any number on this call as it came up as international on my caller display.

I have literally just had the same phone call from PC Masters requesting me to turn my PC on for the problems that has been reported to Microsoft. The woman wouldn't give me her name and told me a had various virus' on my PC. I told her I couldn't turn it on at the moment so she apparently is going to call back.  Mmmmmmm where can we go with this as it seems we are all having the same problem with this and my 1471 states its from a network that can not give the number called

Hi just had a call from indian/asian chap insisting he was from "PC Masters" saying he'd had notification that i had a problem in a critical area on my computer and that i should switch on and he would run through it with me to sort it out. Does he think i was born yesterday! he wouldnt confirm he was working for Microsoft, he wouldnt confirm he was working for my antivirus supplier, he wouldn't give me anumber to ring or an office that i could contact, having read the threads i should have told him that my pet lion was asleep on the keyboard and i didn't want to wake him. Please do not get caught by this one, it sounded like a busy call center.

I had a call from this so called company PC Masters Luton today
the man with Indian accent claimed my computer was infected with viruses .. obviously a scam to either hack or infect my pc or sell me something i dont need.
i asked him where Luton was and he said it was near Cardiff lol when i pointed out that Cardiff was not in England but 8p8 in Wales he finally hung up!
I hate these company's that prey on the inexperience and weakness of others to turn a profit

I got a call too... They said my PC was infected with a terrible Trojan Horse anti virus and it can't be detected by normal anti virus like Norton or McAcfee. They said, they got alerts in the last few days that my computer is infected with the virus. He went onto say they can remote connect to my computer and install a free software for the clean up and then if we pay 78 pounds they will give the service license.

I asked him how he knows what is happening with my computer and he said, i have registered with Microsoft and they got it from there. No way !!

I asked them to send an email to me with the screenshot of my ip address and the infected computer details, while that guy said, he can log into the computer and then show me... Why, if i allow them, they can install any virus they like and then show case a clean up if required !!

This is clear cheating !! Please do not trust these guys.

Also just had an Indian sounding man call me up and insist upon ''cleaning my errors'' on my computer. Calling on a private number but claiming that the company number was 02081445602. According to him ''PC masters'' is based in Bedfordshire which is obviously not accurate due to the other locations claimed from everyone ells this page. Told him about my brother who has a Masters in computing which resulted in him getting very defensive about anything i asked him. Wish i'd found this page while i was speaking to him and read some of the comments. Scarily so, he also knew my address. The cheek of some people these days. Fortunately i didn't fall for his crap and frustratingly so for him, he didn't get very far.

Received a call today from a lady saying she was from a company that 'works for windows' . At first I thought they were selling new windows - the woman had a strong Indian sounding accent, quite hard to understand.
I was told that my computer was in danger and had had lots of error messages recently. No mention of microsoft, just 'windows'. Was asked if I could go to my computer 'now' and the lady would guide me throught the steps to fix the situation. (I said (with great suspicion) that I couldnt do this right now because of time - whereupon she became irritated and said this was most important for me. I said I knew that (!?!), but if she could just give me her number I would call back as soon as possible. She was very reluctant to do that and wanted me to give her a time she would call me again instead. Eventually I was given the number 020 8144 5602. I asked if I could take the name of the company:She said: PC Masters. In Luton. I then asked if I could also have her name. She insisted there was no point because when I called back I could get anyone, not necessarily her. I said that was ok - could I just have her name, please? She hung up.
Lots of posts here but is anything being done ????
