- NeilReceived call to day purporting to be from Mirosoft then an associated German company wanted me to fix some PC error by running a .exe program at which point I became suspicious.
For info: google 'Guardian scam india'
Didn't reach any discussion of money, but seemed happy to provide me with registered company number! etc. (I have a company but I wouldn't know the number - but I gues I don't do cold calls!)- Caller: PC Masters
- Frances22nd April Call from Online PC Masters saying I had a problem with my computer but I would not know about it. They had to rectify it for me. Could I turn on my computer so they clould talk me through the correction procedure. I asked the indian sounding girl her name she said Amanda. Very insistent and said she would ring me again at a more convenient time. Thanks for all the replies I went on and read your comments straight away - so easy to get hooked into this gang. It sounded like a very large call centre from the background noise ! Please tell all friends, relatives, work mates etc
to watch out.- Caller: online PC Masters
- MrMoogman| 1 replyCalls started from these jokers a couple of days ago....same story as the one above but my Asian friend was called Charlie Wills......I ask you. Phone number 0208 144 5408. "On line PC masters" is the company. Same mode of operating. They get your number from the phone book and are just guessing that as most homes now have a PC they are on to a winner.
THESE ARE CON MEN, no if's no buts......CON MEN.
Trading Standards please sort them out now, reading these threads this has been going on way too long with the same bunch of clowns.
I strung them on a number of times (I sussed it was a con right from the start)....get them to keep phoning me back as not convenient.....(their phone bill)...
Please all that get these calls BEWARE>
Now my nephew is a high level IT Microsoft qualified engineer, anything they tell you is absolute nonsense.- Caller: ONLINE PC MASTERS

- Pete replies to MrMoogmanI've been scammed, thought it all a bit strange at the start but having lots of probs with my laptop and out of desparation fell for it hook line and sinker.
Thought it was genuine at first seemed to speed everything up when he'd finished - had access to my computer and suggested he'd installed Advanced System Protector, Advanced e-mail Backup and Advanced System Optimiser????? I don't know where they're supposed to be but i can't find them. THe only thing i can see thats been installed is "Malware by Anti MAlware... and something called CCleaner??? God knows what these are and what they are doing to my computer and personal infomation.
10 days later i get a call from a female this time who says she is calling from "Windows Support". It then hit me that i'd been duped. Terminated her call although she was very persistent suggesting that i had problems with my computer.
Very embarrassed, and furious i've let this happen and handed over money to these people (£48). Having seen these threads and posts i'm truely gutted.
Company called OnlinePcmasters, cold call from "James" (strong Asian Accent). Tel: 0208144 5408 tech support number 01904720415.
Not sure what to do know? - rogeryep- had these folks calling me during the day over the past weeks: all normally around lunchtime or tea time. Slightly different details. And we have on each occassion bar today, told them to go away as it's a scam. Today I got thier number (after repeatedly saying I would call them once I had a friend from the police with me): 0208 144 5602: a mark taylor with an indian accent. Hopefully (?) they will go away, as we really resent having this [***] so often when we answer our phone.

- Jason28 April 2011 - Had a call from Online PC Masters about my computer being infected by a Trojan virus. I said how did you get my details for which he replied they got my details from a Microsoft which forwarded it to them when i reported a fault with my PC. He asked me to switch my computer on so he could show me the problem I said which one at which point he said anyone as they could all be infected...... This is rubbish as I don't have a home network.
So he proceeded to to tell me to turn one of them on when i asked which one he said any one and queried if it was Windows Vista at which point i said no. This further highlighted to me that this guy did not know anything about my home system. He then started to go though the whole MS operation list to guess which one i was using and when he wasn't able to he then asked me :-)
Anyway for entertainment sake i logged on and did as instructed where he got me to run msconfig and check if there were any stopped services. And of course there were and he continued to tell me that the Trojan virus had stopped these services. When I disagreed with him since some of the services were update and installation services which should not be running unless i was installing or updating something which i wasn't he continued to argue that this was not the case. In the end he told me to login to IE and go to Team Viewer website to download some software so I can download a software to give him access to the my computer so he could help me fix these issues. At which point i laughed my head off and stated the following:
1, You told me that all my computers are infected when they were not even connected together via any network
2, You didn't know what OS I had even though you claimed to have been given information from an authenticated OS version from MS. You then went a guessing game trying to figure out which OS I had.
3, You told me that Services that should not be running should be running
All this leads me to believe that you are not genuine and if you are then incredibly incompetent and do not know what you are taking about. Either of these means that I am not going to let you get anywhere near my system anytime soon. So thank you and God Bless.
At which point he hung up.
One thing I should add is that if someone is trying their absolute best to get you to stay on the phone it is probably because they are up to something.
Stay clear of them and always google the company when they tell you who they are - having a website doesn't mean anything as i can knock up a good website a few hours to make any business look reputable.- Caller: Online PC Masters

Website: http://www.therelaxationroom.co.uk/ - deepeeJust had same insance - Indian accent; virus etc and they have "found out". Had they interogated my pc? "no he said it was just picked up at the server". Who's server and he then gave gobbldy [***].
I asked for phone number and I'd call him back ...and got this number 02081445602
Terminated call - TKI was contacted by Online PC Master today 2 May 2011. They said they had received an error message from my computer and that this shows that my PC has a virus calle bluebot virus. The Asian guy was called Gavin and refused to spell his surname for me. He gave me a different phone number 020 33180604 to call him back to. (Not the one mentioned here)
He also asked me if I had a laptop or a desktop and whether i had a wireless connection to the internet - I refused to tell him because I thought this was irrelevant information and told him that I would not give out any information that he didn't know already. I asked him how he had my number - and he answered that they had done a survey of my area. I also asked him how he can prove that this is a genuine call - not a marketing call or a scam. He was unable to provide this information.
Just to verify this call I contacted my internet provider thinking that if they are a legit company they would have heard of them. My provider (a major UK one) had not ever heard of them and said that they do not have anything to do with this company.- Caller: online pc master

- grace leeI had more than 5calls from this company they claimed they worked for microsoft don't be fooled it is a scam they knew my first and last name and knew my address which was scary. The caller got quite offended and threatening when I said it was a scam. BTW the caller claimed to-be called gavin Ryan although he spoke with a very strong Indian accent. And he was very reluctant to give his name.

- KRI have also just received a call from Mike (Asian sounding) at PC Masters in Luton. I work in IT so I am on my guard. He reported that my PC is running slowly and was I online. When I asked how he know, he said that the details are logged on the server. I repeatedly told him that my PC is ok, but kept repeating that slow running was being reported. I asked for a phone number as it showed up as unavailable, he would not give it. I hung up. My service is provided through BT so should be able to trace it even though the number was "unavailable"

- Terry replies to Luton Trading StandardsI too have had the call ... an Indian who claimed to be from Luton ... .... advised me that he had worked for the company for seven years ... but couldn't give me the address .....couldn't tell me how he gets to work...or the street that he walks down to get there .... he says that my machine is not registered .... but on being asked how he got my telephone number he says its its information abstracted from the registration. .....How can we stop these nuisance calls ...from ..02081445602.....02800057298?

Just gat a call from this company PC Masters suggesting I had problems (programmes on my PC were swithed off and they could reinstall) with my PC and requesting I download a programme (teamviewer) that would allow them access to my computer! The chap was Asian but gave me an English name. After downloading the app he would recify all problems with my PC and I would be charged via a secure banking payment system. After questioning him he hung up. - Richard NorrisHi got a phone call from this number trying to get personal details.I think they must have hacked into my laptop.
