I received a call yesterday from this number, saying that my pc had numerous viruses on it. I was told that the company worked with microsoft and that they could fix my pc remotely for £80 for one year. Unfortunately I paid them, before checking to see if they were legit.

Received a call from Online PC ~Masters - very rude man who got remote access to my 70 years old Mothers computer- he got her by claiming to be from Microsoft.  It took me 10 minutes to get him off the computer and to get him to tell me where he was calling from.  I called the number back and it was unobtainable - number the same but ended in 5408 - looked them up and rang - they claimed no knowledge - really!

    Reference No    MAU   097764

Please read my post of 22nd July, i kept them on the phone for 36 minutes, with no information being given,

I wonder why they are still trading because it appears that they have been using this scam for the last two years.  Do you not have authority to close them down and bring them to court.  How long does this take or what more evidence do you require??

Just had one of these calls. Again, female, strong accent, call centre noise. Wanted to talk about my computer. I said 'which computer?' she said 'your personal computer' I said 'bye' (or words to that effect). I have called ID and the number above did not appear (it said 'unavailable'). Clearly a scam, have nothing to do with them....

Dont know if it is the same as I was not able to get the number. But someone saying they were from PC Online Masters called and said that they were Microsoft approverd and that error messages or virus messages had beren sent to Microsoft mainframe and that he was there to help sort it out, and that no product out there could help. I told him I was going out and then checked online. Seems this is a scam

Got call yesterday from very asian sounding guy called Alan Scott !  Told me I was experiencing probs. with computer running slow and viruses - what a chancer !  Asked me to switch on computer, told him on way to appointment, very persistent said would ring back. I asked him for his number - this one of course, but said ringing from Luton, Beds. - wrong dialling code, chump !  He told me any work they did would be underwritten by Royal Bank of Scotland.  The company was registered with the govrnment no. 06996061.  I would receive writtten confirmation of work that was done.

Just had a call from Jenny of Online pc masters in Luton saying my computer had over 35 errors and wanting to talk me through rectifying them. I said I would have to check this out and get back to her. She had a very strong Indian accent and didn't want to give me the information I requested but eventually did give me the phone number 02081 445602.

Received a call purporting to be from Windows Operating System Help Desk saying that my pc was sending them error messages and asking for access to my computer. I refused and asked for the phone number so I could ring back to verify, when I rang I was answered by a man who mumbled so much I couldn't tell what he was saying. When I told him I was giving the police the number he hung up.

Had a call from a foreign sounding "Lucy" from PC Masters, purporting to be in Luton, last night and telling me I had a Trojan horse virus on my laptop.   I was passed to a "Snr Technician" who informed me that my Norton anti virus software would not prevent this type of virus.  The outcome was they wanted me to purchase additional software which I refused and said I would refer to a friend!  If they ring again I will tell them where to go!

Just had a phone call from them.

Very believable story to someone who does not know about computers.

I went with the story the Indian guy was telling me upto the point where he asked me to download free "Teamview remote access software" Yeah right would you like my PIN number as well.

Asked how I could verify and he gave me the contact centre?? number.

The basic claim was my computer was sending out reports on error.  Which it can do but I would have thought this would be to Microsoft. The claim is going to end up being you have a virus and we can help.

Its kept me amused for 20 mins.
