- Farmer replies to kryssI'm guessing it is because Sanda Wellness target the elderly. They understand their target market:
- few over 60's are on-line and are thus unable to redilly verify their statements and undertake due-diligence
- the elderly are the least likley demographic group to complain about being scammed
- trust e.g. Nurse Sanda or Dr Sanda when they imply that they're working in association with a local health or wellness clinic or NHS campaign and are conducting a survey to benefit them
- silently tolerate the ad-hoc perpetual rolling subscription they've inadvertently entered into by phone or don't even notice if they're wealthy
As long as victims don't report the fraud or the reports are too infrequent, Sanda knows it will continue to get away with it.
There's insufficient hard evidence received by the authorities for the authorities to act. And as the two founding Sanda directors were involved in the Goldshield fraud cases, they understand how ineffectual and disjointed the authorities are, even when huge sums of taxpayers money and genuine pharmaceuticals are involved.
They also understand that isolated elderly plaintiffs are not credible witnesses and if the worst came to the worst, their off-shore call centre and UK distributor are expendable and replaceable legal entities.
A few dozen geographically scattered pensioners complaining about food supplement tablets are not going to be on anyone's radar. The noisy complainants are quietly refunded and don't file a report with the authorities. The few who do file are too scattered to be centrally noted and regarded as one offs. They report to anyone of a plethora of agencies. Occasionally an isolated alert or warning is issued but the scam simply continues unabated with a tweaked sales script.
Just my hunch... - DELLI think I have just been scamed, I lisened to her and she seemed to know a lot about my ailments, I have given my details and now I am very worried, what do they do, do they take more out of your account or is it that the supplement is just not worth what you pay??

- Nan replies to LazOn Page 1 of this thread is a post from something calling itself Bali Bailey. This is the apologist for this scum., so contact it on the number it gives and tell it you want your dad's money back or you will take them to the Small Claims Court. Then raise a fraud claim with your bank and tell them you want a charge back. They may refuse initially but keep on at them. Contact Trading Standards and Action Fraud and report them.

- MegsL replies to margaretJust had an interminable phone call from this company - at least half an hour. Went along with it for a bit because I thought it might be a genuine research project. Well informed caller (female) who sounded like a native English speaker. Cut call off finally because I had (genuinely) run out of time and had, in any case. no intention whatever of buying patent medicines over the phone. Interested to discover this very sensible website subsequently. My regards to all of you - M.

If you check back on this site there should be an address. You should also report them to Trading Standards and Action Fraud. This scum target the elderly. They neither know, nor care about the health of their victims or what effect there rubbish will have. They just want to steal the money.

- Kirti Patel replies to kirillovich1| 1 replyIs this a poison pill site?
- kirillovich1 replies to mpbI had a similar experience a couple of days ago. The reason for their claim to be conducting a survey is that this is allowed even on numbers supposedly protected by that great toothless tiger which is the Telephone Preference Service. It really is time the law got tough on these cold-call merchants.
- kirillovich1 replies to Kirti PatelNot as such. I have no reason to believe they are selling anything injurious to health but the benefits are questionable and they will claim that you will benefit from their product(s) only if you take the pills for a whole year which then gives them an excuse for demanding payment up front for a fill year's worth.

- georgeI received a cold call from Sanda Wellness this week. I normally just tell callers I'm not interested & hang up, but I was a bit bored & listened to what they had to say. The caller was Cheryl with an indian accent & said she was calling from a wllness centre. She proceeded to ask various questions in a very syncophantic way about my health to which I just gave random answers. She then started talking about pomy tablets extolling their heath benefits before offering me a sample for £16. Well I thought I'd give these a try. Big mistake! After giving her my Credit Card details (I know, I know that was stupid), she went through my order stating that they would be sending me 6 months supply for £199. After I baulked at this, she reduced the price via discounts to£133 claiming she was doing me a favour. When I proceeded to object to this she told me this payment had gone through. Please beware, she told me when I asked how they got my details, she said it was from some Government backed register. She also said they were "working" the North East region! Having looked at their website, I phoned them the next day I told them I wanted to cancel my order as they do offer refunds. They said the order had been dispatched & when I asked about a refund, they asked for the reason. I told them I'd changed my mind & I should not need a reason. They then started to show their true colours, saying they would not refund me without a good reason. When I asked what a good reason was they were less than forthcoming. When I said I shouldn't need a reason, they said they wouldn't stay in business very long if they refunded everyone who asked for one, I merely stated that was their problem. They then got ridiculous, saying that they "hadn't put a gun to my head" to make me agree to payment. I then stated I hadn't agreed to their 6 month supply offer, they claimed they had a recording of the first call which would reveal what was said. At this point I said I was pretty sure they were in breech of the Consumer Protection Act & Trading Standards, but they appeared to be totally unphased by this. I then just proceeded to call them fraudsters & scammers, & would give them as much bad publicity as I could think of, something which again seemed to leave them unphased. This company sorely needs to be put out of business & quickly. The only problem with that, is that company law in this country allows them to just set up another business under another name & carry on as before, instead of the directors & senior managers being prosecuted for fraud & sent to jail. Please don't think I'm stupid, (though like everyone else I have done some stupid things) it's what you might call - taking your eye off the ball. PLEASE ignore calls from this companie's calls & hang up when they call, something which I've already said I normally do. I'm not particularly wealthy but being conned out of £133 isn't going to wreck my life, but other postings on this & other websites describe people being stung for a lot more than I was & may well suffer badly from this. I could ask how these tricksters sleep at night, but I know the answer - they have no conscience.

Cold calls for health supplements, 50 years of Beeching and fare dodging
Duration: 55 minutes
First broadcast: Monday 25 March 2013
Consumer affairs with Julian Worricker. Today: the company that sends health supplements to the elderly, charging hundreds of pounds, whether they want them or not. Fifty years of Beeching's cuts to the railways - we'll be hearing what the impact of those cuts was and how many of the lines that were closed are reopening, and the protestors who advocate fare dodging on public transport.
LISTEN NOW :-) Ajit Patel's listening - Bali Bailey| 4 repliesDear All,
Due to an internal review of processes that has been spanning the past 3 months and the broadcast on Radio 4 today we have terminated the Head of Sales, Mahesh Matta, with immediate effect.
Mahesh Matta was autonomous and solely responsible for the call centre operations and we believe that his removal will allow us to move forward positively.
Despite what may be believed on here we are a reputable company with a significant amount of satisfied customers.
We look forward to ringing in these changes with a fresh start. Don’t forget, the easiest route for dispute resolution is to email complaints@sandawellbeing.com
Kind regards
Bali Bailey
