- Workfromhomegal| 1 replyLovely man from Arjuna called, gave the spiel about I have an undetecetd virus, only they could help me etc etc, I asked him why he wanted remote access to my computer, he said he never asked that (he did....3 times!!). After being told I was being 'over smart' and 'stop talking and listen to him' I as called an 'f-ing [***] who was just wasting his precious time and to get lost'.

- Kit replies to WorkfromhomegalMy wife just had the usual spiel from 124 Baker Street , that well-known offshoot of the Indian subcontinent. They claimed to be the official maintenance from Windows - I wonder if Windows knows that they have employed or authorised them to pester people. My wife did her gormless act - how do you know what my computer is doing, who told you about my computer, where are you calling from, and so on at great length, before pointing out that her computer was off, unplugged and definitely not misbehaving. They weren't rude to her, just insistent. They obviously haven't met her - so she took as long as possible before the man rang off and she went to do the shopping. I wonder how long it will be before the morons have another go.
- Anonymous| 1 replyThe scam continues !!. Someone who gave his name as Shaun Williams (strange name for an Indian gentleman?) called, quoting my name & address. He claimed he was from BT Technical Division and that I had various viruses and malware on my line connection. He then offered to show me the files if I logged onto my computer and accessed www.teamviewer.com. (giving him the user number and passord). I asked for evidence of what he was seeing. He said it was very serious and would damage my computer if I didn't let him fix it. I asked again what company he was phoning from he repeated BT Technical Division. When asked for a contact number he gave 020-88193974 (the number has in fact been barred). Beware this is a SCAM, they are trying to steal information and load malware onto your machine and charge to remove it.
- TeriThese guys have called me twice, in less than 30 hours! I asked what their phone number was and he told me 866-539-8674. I had him spell out the name of the company, which was difficult because his accent was so heavy - east Indian. Company name is Arjunaa Internet Security. I've emailed the company twice, asking if they are making these phone calls, but haven't received a response. I can't figure out if someone is posing as an employee or if the whole company is fraudulent! We didn't get to a point where he asked for any money, but he told me that 65-70 computers had been hacked in my area and were completely shut down. (And, *how* would you know this??) I said, "What area??" He gave me my zip-code. So, he asked me to disconnect from the Internet and then press the "windows" button on my keyboard. I didn't even know what the "windows button" was!! But, he kindly explained. :) I kept saying things like, "And, what's supposed to happen then?" "And, what is the point of me doing that?" He said it would open up a box and it would have an "R" in it. Oh, he wanted remote access to my computer! But, how would that work if I've disconnected from the Internet? He does something that would sit and wait until later? UGH.. these people!! Why can't they "get a life"!?!?! When he called back today, I just said I didn't have a computer. He said, "Oh...well, you're fine then." and click. Hung up on me. No "sorry to bother you" or "thank you".... Grrrr.......

- AnonymousInNYreceived a call today from "Adam" at Arjuna Internet Security. He told me he was calling about my computer and that there were hackers focused on a section of NY that I live. I asked him who hired him and he wouldn't respond. I asked him to spell out his company name, and he did, Arjuna Internet Security. I asked him to give me his company phone number and he gave me 877-539-8674. When I called it after we hung up it was a Verizon conference line with no one there. He had a very thick accent, probably Indian. He told me to shut down my computer and follow a series of instructions. I pretended to do so but then told him I didn't believe him and he abruptly hung up. This was clearly a scam. I looked at my caller ID and the number he called from was 212-987- 6543. When called it was a mobile phone and went to a voicemail. Beware of this scam.

- millieThese calls are so clearly scams... I keep them talking for ages, pretend I don't understand, am slow about ''switching on '' my computer, get them to keep repeating instructions etc. when I'm actually doing something completely different around the house. I figure it costs the scammers money to keep them on the line and they are losing time with some other unfortunate victim. If everybody did that when they called they just might stop.

- ArjunaHunterCan anyone give me the email address of this scam company ( I need that email address which they give to their customers) so that I can investigate and catch them up by their neck.
From the above posts I have one email : info@arjuninc.com, but this is not required. I need the product-websites' email which they are using for their campaign. - Texas replies to SueJust had a call from an English/Indian type voice. Asking me about yellow and red errors. Kept telling me to sit down in front of my computer and he would fix. I told him it was a scam and eventually hung up.
Disgusting...i'm sure they are up to no good...don't care...will fix and maintain my own darn computer - Steve-ClaphamHave today received a call from an indian 'gent' purporting to be from Windows Support, wanting to refund me £185 that I foolishly paid to G2S.com, trading as Click2Fix, back in early 2011. I refused to allow access to my computer, or provide any information until he had sent me an e-mail explaining in detail who he was and what he was proposing. I have attached the e-mail below:
Hello Mr Clapham
This is the refund department of windows operating system and the thing is that the amount which you have paid for the services to us we are going to refund you this amount back.
The date when you purchased this software was (05/01/2011) and the amount was (148+37=185)
So we would like to refund you this amount back through online so the only thing is that you need to reply us back Via E-mail.
And our assistance will call you back and provide you with the refund amount and also make you understand about the refund policy.
E-mail-windowsoperating707@hotmail.com
Thank you
In Regards
Please note the impecable grammar and the actual e-mail address. Needlesstosay I will not be divulging any financial information, or allowing any access to my computer, still I'm looking forward to the next call as I enjoy wasting these jokers time.
I will update any future developments, but in the meantime, please be aware of this obvious scam and act accordingly.- Caller: Windows Support
- MazzaJust had a phone call from a very Indian sounding Robert Williams, who said he was calling from Global PC Care of Baker Street, London - phone number 020 323 96593. He had rung about the problems we'd be having with Windows....only we haven't had any problems with Windows.
I have come across these type of scammers before and was not taken in by his flannel. I played along with it for a bit (reckoned someone was at the door and left him hanging on), then told him I'd ring him back. Thinking about it, if I get any more of these calls I'll pretend I'm old and confused and keep them going round in circles.

- J replies to AnonymousI just had Shaun/Sean Williams, too, although now he apparently works for Windows. He attempted to persuade me that the Task Scheduling Errors in Event Viewer were evidence of a catastrophic infection, and that I should therefore connect my computer to...whatever, whatever. He seemed sceptical about my chances of getting this serious problem fixed by anyone else.
He didn't sound happy when I told him I'd been googling his name and phone number. Didn't stop him persevering, though.
J - TimThey are now sending email saying I have won a million pounds in a lottery What a scam.
