This Click2fix have also called me, I asked them lots of questions i.e. his name he said Robert Cameroon, where they were based etc. He got quite angry asking me why I was asking all these questions. I pointed out to him that it was he who had phoned me and I wanted to know who he was. He then hung up and the number was with held. NEVER answer questions or allow remote contact on your computer from anyone who you do not trust or know.

I also recieved a call from this company. At first, I thought that this is a scam. But the lady I spoke to was very polite and was able to answer all my queries. I can recall her name 'Jas'. She informed me that they are third party technical support who provide technical support after the manufacturer warranty. I was already tired of poor support from HP. So I consider purchasing their plan, but I did't get a callback from them  again.

I have a little knowledge of computers and I know that they take remote access of our computer to fix any sort of problem. In past I had recieved several calls from people who claim that they are calling from Microsoft Service center. But I found click2fixs very clear in this. She directly told me that they are not microsoft or related to them. It is independent company.

I would not consider this as scam!!

I have had the same call today. English named man with Indian accent. He also said 59 computers in my area affected, same as the other person on this site. How can two towns both have 59?? Proper legit Companies don't just ring people up saying this stuff. He spoke all over me when I asked him questions and got all huffy and defensive with I questioned him. I told him I thought it was a scam and there was no way I'd allow anyone phoning me out of the blue access to my computer!! I hope those that fell for it don't have any further problems with their personal information being used for further fraud.

Don't trust these Janet, Victor and Hawkins. Their poor sense of grammer only shows that they are not from UK. They are put up by the company itself to show them in good light. BEWARE, they are a SCAM and never ever trust this company. They will take your credit card numbers and scam you. They are the lowest scum of this earth. These people tried to call me but after giving them an earful, I am satisfied and hope they will never call me and leave the rest of the people in UK in peace.

This is a scam. They make unsolicited telephone calls and ask for money. There is nothing wrong with your computerin the first place. Don't speak to people who cold call you, just hang up.

Received a cold call from a company telling me that there had been a number of computers in my home area that had been infected with viruses and that  they could check out and repair my PC if I gave them remote access which I foolishly did. They did seem to know what they were talking about and di install some software (Google Chrome and others). Whatever they did certainly speeded up my computer, but afterwards I checked for any user forums and found one where other people had reported similar experiences. I now think this was a scam.

I had a call from this 'Robert' from Click2fix today and he also said about 69 places in my area had been affected by an 'internet infection'. He talked fast and assertively without a pause and told me that his 'international company' were the people who were dealing with the problems in my area. I couldn't get the name of the company for some time and indeed, it was difficult to get a word in. I told him I was concerned about phone scams and he got really agressive in his manner. I said I needed more assurance about what he was saying and when I suggested that I receive some info he told me I was saying that I wanted a technician to come to the house which would cost between £120 and £140 per hour. Again I had great difficulty getting a word in to say that this was not what I wanted. He said that his company was offering a 'free check-up' and that he was from the 'technical department'. I was still trying to find a way to ask him questions but couldn't. Finally, I just let him talk for quite a long time and when there was no sign of him stopping, I said the word 'STOP' pretty loudly and to no effect, so then I just told him firmly that I was putting the phone down. I did try 1471 and not unsurprisingly no number. I did report this to both the police and to Trading Standards in my area as suggested by the police woman.
I am worried that someone who is more susceptible or vlnerable may get caught by this.

A friend just called me as she had a cold call from these guys, fortunately she hung up before parting with credit card details but did allow them access to her computer.

Their website infringes Companies House rules as it does not show their UK company registration.

Definitely have nothing to do with these scammers.

    Hi,

My Grandma has also had a call from Click2Fix recently and has unfortunately fallen foul of their scam.  They have charged her £47 for their services.

She asked me whether it was a scam and I had a look into what they had done and found that they had basically installed a free piece of software which simply removes temporary files and cookies etc (which her McAfee does regularly anyway).

Her bank statement gives the transaction name as "G2S.com London..." so I went on to their website and had a look.  They appear to be some sort of hosting site for small businesses.  I contacted them today and explained what had happened, the lady on the phone offered a full refund and said the matter would be investigated.  The refund is due in 7 working days so we'll wait and see whether it arrives.

I couldn't find any malicious software on my Grandma's PC so hopefully there shouldn't be any damage done, but I have asked her to keep a close eye on all her bank statements and credit card statements just in case.

You're absolutely right about the TPS and ICO. I get called almost daily from India by companies offering me a loan because they say I'm in debt (which I'm not) or doing 'surveys' and CLICK2FIXS rang today. I knew straight away that it was a scam but kept them talking as long as possible to clock up their phone bill but stopped short of entering their website. I am registered with TPS but they cannot stop companies which operate outside the UK from cold calling.
Perhaps we should start a petition on the government website to get this changed.

Completely agree with you about Janet, Victor and Hawkins, don't believe a word they say!

These scammers and cold-callers who use Indian call-centres could be doing the UK economy a favour. There are so many of them that I don't trust anybody who calls me with an Indian accent and I am sure there must be many people who think this so maybe the UK companies will bring their call-centres back to the UK.

I just received a call from this company click to fix it?? he said there was alot of computers is my area being infected by a bad virus that would stop my computer working completely and I need to check my computer. He had a very strong indian accent but said his name was Harry Williams. He asked me to check under 'my computer' and when I said I had some errors he wanted to put me through to his senior technical advisor who could fix my computer. He kept telling me all the computers on my street were being infected. When I asked who they were and how they got my name and number he was quite vague and said he got my name and number through my IP address?  I thought it sounded quite dodgy so asked what was the scam and how much money they charge, he claimed there was no charge but was very aggressive and insisted I be put through to the senior tech team, I had to literally shout down the phone to get a word in, I said I wasn't allowing anyone on my computer and I wanted his name and number, he gave me 020 8819 9744 - said I need to make sure I ask for him when I call back??   He said it was vey urgent it got sorted and he was trying to make me panic! All sounds very dodgy to me....  after reading some comments on here I think it is a pure scam!!  I get stupid calls like this all the time for one thing and another from call centres in india who u can barely understand and it drives me bonkers!!!  If they call again, I think I'll tell em where to go and hang up!!!

Well guess what?  Click2Fix have been at it again preying on the elderly and vulnerable.  My father in law aged 85 yrs got called by some dodgy indian bloke with an English name?? claiming to be able to fix his computer problem?  How the hell did he know Dad was having a problem?  Well of course he didnt, he just chanced his arm and poor old Dad got sucked in right up to the point of allowing remote access.  Thank God when the bloke then said there would be a charge of about £25 Dad called his Grandson who told him to turn off the computer at the mains inmmediately.  Yes you've guessed it......the bloke didnt phone back.
Needless to say this experience has not been pleasant and I only hope these scumbag scammers suffer a very slow and painfiul death! coz what they're doing is enough to kill off the old folks.

On 25.9.10, I got a phone call me telling me there is virus called Pornaries which may have infected my computer. They told me to Left click on Start, Right click on My Computer, Left click on Manage, Left click on Event Viewer. From this screen they told me to :-

    1) Double Left click on Applications, then scroll down to count the number of red alerts and yellow warnings.

    2) Double Left click on System, and do the same.

As these numbers were high, they said my computer was definitely at risk.

They then told me to Right click on the bottom LHS of my screen where the Clock is, then Left click on Task Manager. They asked me to tell them about my CPU useage (0%) and PF useage (~240MB), and based on this I apparently needed to fix the solution quickly.  They asked me to Left click on Start, Left click on Run, then type www.click2fixs into the box. I got suspicious and refused. I checked their website which seemed to be OK and they directed me from there to allow them access to my Computer. Again I refused, then checked for blogs about www.click2fixs.com and found this site with warnings of it being a scam. I put the phone down on them. Thank you all very much for the warning.
