- The AnswerIf no one ever responded to these "surveys", these companies would make no money and go out of business.
I do actually feel sorry for the students making the calls, who are subjected to a lot of abuse. Since Ipsos Mori are well aware that their persistent phoning practices annoy the recipients of the call prompting an abusive response, I would have thought they would clean up their act - surely subjecting your employees to such stress must be a breach of Health and Safety legislation?
If you want to receive surveys you should sign up for these and get PAID for them. So called "expert" respondents are paid a lot of money for this. Some online research firms also pay by the survey. Time is money - so IPSOS MORI - get your cheque book out.- Caller: Ipsos Mori
- PhoneThey only work for organisations who want to improve services for peopl, like the NHS for example and the student survey offers improvements to universities. It is fair enough if people do not want to take part, but a polite answer is all that is needed I guess. The whole of the UK are just paranoid by the mass media emphasising everything and everything.
- Si KovitPolite Answer? True politeness would be to make calls only to people who have opted into receiving them.

- gilljustgot a phonecall from a 0800 no at 8.00pm now at 8.09 these lot phone me every night im really fed up now
- I YoungNumber called this afternoon, went on-line and set an e-mail to telephone@ipsos-mori.com telling them to remove my number from their list - not sure it'll help but it's worth a try.

- PCCalled at work just now, asked for manager, a lady called Michelle, working on behalf of the Government and their agencies. Something to do with skills gaps. Told them manager not in office, asked to take a message, they simply said they'd call back later.
- El BozarHad a call from them.
They asked me is this me, by name, I asked why. She said to ask about my service with Sky. I asked her if she knew who the TPS were, she said no, I replied, its to stop fecking stupid marketing calls like this coming through so why are you phoning me? Anyways, I don't have Sky.
She apologised and said they wouldn't phone back and I said ok, but why do you not just hang the phone up and leave me to my business.- Caller: Unknown
- sudamthis is a joke the people should be charged
- jennieI got a phonecall from this number- several infact.
I did a callback on it (called it up) and its now 4.39am.
I spoke to an african gentleman who didn't seem to know what I was talking about. I told him if the number calls again, I would be reporting it.
to the police. - JamieCaller hung up when I answered it at 11:36. They tried again at 14:23 today.
- Anon| 1 replyFirstly, TPS calls do NOT cover bona-fide Market Research companies, mainly telemarketing. Secondly, EX-Directory, which I hear several times a day simply means not on a database, thus EX - directory. When a number is dialled using the method RDD - random digit dialling it is of course NOT taken off a database.
Now for the surveys, the majority of surveys are of no interest to the general public, but for those it does affect we need to get hold of them. Receiving a call to respond to a survey is of no interest is simple, these calls may occur at very occasional intervals but all you have to say is, no this survey isn't of interest to me. HOWEVER, it is the surveys that I hear people moaning about in the pub and general day to day banter that really does my head in. Those regarding NHS or local leisure facilities, why be so quick to say not interested, if you will quite happily moan to friends and family about how poor these facilities are. It is basically your chance to have your voice heard. I do accept many people do not care about such matters, simply say so. Telephone Interviewing is just a job, and after all many of the statistics we live by are gathered from it.- Caller: Ipsos
- john smithYou maggots. Attempting to build personal profiles via cold calling to sell to marketeers, nobody wants to be hassled like this or their time wasted. Your business plan is inherently flawed due to public rejection of previous models that we've all seen before and detest.

you squirmed you're way out of TPS but it's there for a reason, people don't want this rubbish. I've received 3 calls this week and I've said no,no,no. Why don't you just give up on this because everyone hates you? - MRWith projects from NHS to OFCOM themselves, and the government themselves. If they don't interest you don't complain, some of you are the very people who love to complain but say nothing.
Admittedly, repeated calling when someone has said No is wrong, and this is seriously out of order. But simply saying NO not interested is provocative, not interested in what, we haven't even begun, at least hear what the project is about. - john smith"Admittedly, repeated calling when someone has said No is wrong, and this is seriously out of order."
So what is it you don't understand when someone you call says no?
No means no. Go away, there's no excuse to keep calling after that. - AnonI never said I supported it, I'd feel the same as many others in this discussion if I said no repeatedly and still received calls. It's because they receive ambiguous no's or excuses rather than No. And if hung up before the purpose is explained how is that a No?
- Ana TRang yesterday, my husband answered their survey. Got another 4 calls from them since. Just emailed telephone@ipsos-mori.com asking them to remove my number from database, let's see what happens.
- Ana TJust received a reply, apologising and saying it won't happen again.

I Only complain about parasites like you, obviously chose to not divulge information that falls outside this disscusion.

"I never said I supported it"
Yet here you are defending it.
"It's because they receive ambiguous no's or excuses rather than No. And if hung up before the purpose is explained how is that a No?"
There's nothing ambiguous with the word NO. It's a definitive term that means and end. It's final
An analogy:
If I arrived on your doorstep with a gun and asked you if you'd like to be shot in the head or the stomach you'd say I'd rather not be shot at all and close the door. According to your policy you'd keep ringing the bell because there's ambiguity.
