A call this morning from someone with an Asian accent who gave an English name, which put me on guard at once.  Doing a survey.  I said I wasn't interested and please take me of their list.  Don't suppose it will do any good though.

Do these people will ever give up?  How do you swat mosquitoes that you can hear but can't see or get anywhere near them?  Grrrr!!!!

Have just had 3rd call in as many days. Told them not interested. No doubt they will phone back.

I have been spamming their web site contact page and their twitter account @IpsosMORI !!

Called an XD and TPS registered line today at 1749hr.  Ipsos-MORI doing market research on political attitudes...  Pity they don't do research on attitudes to unwanted phone calls...

From IPSOS Mori website (https://www.ipsos-mori.com/contactus/approachedbyus/telephone.aspx):

"If we have called you, and you wish to prevent any further calls, please email telephone@ipsos-mori.com providing your contact telephone number."

My experience is that this DOES work, not only on random-generated calls but also to block follow-up research (e.g. when you have cancelled a utility, the followup is often outsourced to such a company).

I received a call from this number today wanting me to take part in some survey saying it was to do with the Jobcentre and a course I was on but I'm not on any course. plus I do not take kindly to being called on a Sunday

Simple solution, get caller ID and don't answer the 'phone if you can't recognise who is calling.
Also if you have a facility for callers to leave messages, they will do so if it is important.
Certain providers do not charge for the above services.
