My phone number is exdirectory and on TPS. They called me 4 times in 3 days and insisted they had a list , they could call who they wanted to. I disagree. just because they are not selling anything does not give anyone a right to pester someone until they get an answer.  I suspect their Director who lives in Links Place Leith Edinburgh is ex directory.If he believes in his company he would have his number available to all those who cold call and then he could experience the frustration of the many unwanted calls that we recive form IPSOF-Mori.

If I presented myself at your door with a gun and said I'd like to shoot you in the face, you would slam the door shut and run for cover. Oh but that's an ambiguous no because I haven't explained why I want to shoot you in the face.

Maybe you'll be more receptive to being shot in the face if I call again tomorrow.

Claimed to be Market Research for local council.  Perhaps they are legit (MORI), but I wasn't going to answer a load of personal questions without some written confirmation of who they were.  That's my advice for any such calls in these modern times a woe of global database commerce.

'Daniel' doing a Swine Flu survey for the NHS, then asked me who I bank with what I earn, do I own my home, who I work for, WTF?  Nothing to do with Swine Flu.  BEWARE

I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service because I work from home at a job which needs solid concentration.  If I'm interrupted it can take me 15 minutes to think my way back to where I was.  I can't afford interruptions.  My family and friends know this so they are careful about when they call and I need to be able to take their calls.  TPS has worked well for me - I hadn't received any unwanted calls for several years until about 4 weeks ago I got one from Kantar Operations.  Even though I politely declined to participate they persisted, sometimes up to 5 times a day, and now I have begun to get calls from IPSOS Mori as well.  Is that a coincidence, or have IPSOS Mori bought my number from them?  If so, is that ethical, and doesn't it compromise the statistical randomness of the survey?

Just sitting here concentrating like Mike when I noticed a call from this number coming in on my caller display.  My trueCall unit answered it and zapped whoever it was without even ringing my phone.  Why not get your work to buy you one.  It will recognise friends and family and let them straight through.

Just received a call from this number.

The woman asked if I would take part in a survey about the NHS. When I asked how they got my number, which should not be called as we have used Telephone Preference to have it taken off lists of this kind, she said the number had been 'randomly generated'.

This number has been calling me for a few days as well as 01502573387 who i think are the same company - I keep missing the call -I wish there was some way to block this number as they are calling at really annoying times.

This number is directly linked to getting any kind of quote from the comparethemarket website. Not unlike moneysupermarket if you get a quote from these sites your number seems to get put on some kind of spam list been getting them since yesterday dont bother answering they give up in the end... My partner goes on these sites so wether or not there is an option you can tick to avoid receiving these calls or having your private phone number distributed I dont know but it certainly needs looking into. It pisses me off that there are supposed to be laws governing this sort of thing nowadays and the phonecalls are 100% more prevelant than they were years ago. If I want to buy something I will go to a website that sells stuff, walk into a shop or make my own phonecall I'm amazed they make money out of this probably most of it made by exploiting the old and vunerable...
