Report a phone call from 02088618682 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- andrea coei had one call to my mobile last nite at 7.20pm and another today at 1.10pm, i didnt answer either calls. By the looks of it i have more calls to come. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ANNOYING.
- anonThis number calls me so many times, they call atleast twice a day. Even though I am registered with TPS, Im still getting them. I just dont pick up the phone.
- DeeI just had one asking for my son and said he wasn't home, the caller asked if I knew when he would be back to which I replied "no" and he asked if he would be in tomorrow. I said "I've just said I don't know!" and he put the phone down.
- Annette, SuffolkHave sent them an e-mail (as suggested - telephone@ipsos-mori.com) to remove us from their listing. We are ex-directory and also supposed to have a block against our number so that these annoying calls don't happen. They seem to phone all hours of the day and evening - even on a Sunday. Luckily we have caller dispay so now I know who it is just won't answer it - they'll soon get fed up (hopefully) - failing that I plan to buy a whilstle and blow it very loudly down the phone - if they don't get the message from that they're all idios!

- CarrieKeeps ringing for no apparent reason. I refuse to answer it. I'm with TPS, but a comment below suggests this makes no differnce.
- GaynorCalled from Market Reserch for NHS apparently,Friday 6.30pm, asked if I was employed!!
when I said no, she hung off!! - KJTCalled three times today by different "opinion poll companies". Explained I was registered with TPS and have emailed Mori with no success. I've been promised on several occasions that my number would be taken off database but often the calls seem to be from foreign sources as the caller ID is "International". Thinking of getting a TRUECALL unit to try to solve the problem. Anyone have any experience with these...??
- JanineRecieved various calls from this number asking me to fill different surveys in. The last time they called (Friday night at quarter to 9) I told them I was too busy watching Coronation Street and no thank you. When he thought I'd hung up he started laughing an joking about it with his mates.....to which I told him I could still here him and he apologised....lets hope this embarrassment stops him from calling me!! :o) scam calls!!
- Laura - MORI EmployeeAfter reading through all 20 pages of you complaining about the company, I can only conclude one thing. None of you actually have a clue about how our company works. Allow me to enlighten you.
First of, to address those on TPS. You are my favourite people. Mainly due to your inability to read your own agreements. DIRECT QUOTE from the TPS website:
"As TPS registration only prevents marketing calls, organisations will still be able to call you for the purposes of genuine market research."
Ipsos Mori is... wait for it... A GENUINE MARKET RESEARCH COMPANY! If you have any doubts about this, please feel free to call up the Market Research Society (which, by the way, set up the TPS service in the first place) to clarify this. Their number is 0500 (That's right, FREEPHONE) 39 69 99.
Second, in regard to the times we call. We stick to the regulations set out by our governing body the Market Research Society (MRS). We will call between 9am and 9pm Mon - Fri and 10am - 7pm Saturday and Sunday. THIS WILL NOT CHANGE.
Third, WE ARE NOT ALLOWED TO LEAVE MESSAGES. We try to hang up as soon as we hear the Beep. We are only human and thus don't always get this in time. We do apologise. This is also set out by the MRS.
Forth, and please, READ THIS CAREFULLY. If you agree that we can call you back at a specific time and we get no answer, we will try again TWICE before simply coding the call as a no reply and then it will go back into the cue of numbers to be tried. If you have said "I'm busy" we will call back again. If you tell us "not right now", same again. The closer we get to the end of our projects, the less numbers in the cue to be tried again, and the more times we will call you. It's really not rocket science.
If you simply hang up on us, we *will* assume that the line was disconnected accidentally and call back as this is what we are trained to do. If you tell us to %@*# off, or something to that effect, I regret to inform you that our empolyees are only human and as such, are hurt by being told to "Get a real job" or "%@*# Off" when we are only doing our jobs. Think about it, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL??
Most of the employees working at Mori are either Students, Unqualified, or working there as a second job to pay off debts. I, myself, am a student working at Mori to pay my fees as well as support myself. Would you rather these people stayed on the dole so you could fund them yourselves?
And finally. In regard to how we get your numbers. If we call up and ask for someone by name, it means we were passed your details by the client we are doing the research on behalf of. You gave them your number, they gave it to us. Tick the box saying "Do not pass my detail to third parties" for future reference. If not, we are LEGALLY ALLOWED to use a Random Digit Dial system, which takes an Area Code and randomly generates the last 6/7 digits.
IF YOU DO NOT WANT US TO CALL YOU EVER AGAIN:
CALMLY ask the interviewer to put you on our "DNC" list. This is a database that we keep. Your number will be stored in this database which our computers cross referrence numbers with so if you're on it, you won't get a call from us EVER AGAIN. You will be passed to a Supervisor. Again, calmly speak to them and explain that you would like to be put on the DNC and guess what? WE WILL! We're really not the monsters you think we are. If you ask us to do something, we will. If you're nice to us, we're nice to you. The same if you're a complete d*ck.
Now. Before you all rush to be put on the DNC list, bare in mind. Thanks to the work of those at Mori, and those kind enough to actually take the 10-20 minutes to help us with our research, organisations such as the NHS (including care for the elderly, which has recently been brought up in the House of Commons for review just after our project finished), the Government (where do you think opinion polls come from?), the Learning and Skills Council (which funds the colleges and training providers where you get all your nice NVQ's and Certificates for work, etc) ARE ALL CLIENTS OF MORI.
If you do not take the time to voice your opinions, do not ever feel you have the right to complain when they are not heard. Remember, we gave you the chance. You chose to tell us to %@*# off. Live with your decisions. - sajI have just read the comment left by an employee of the Mori poll company. I know that people are only doing their job, but look at this from the householders point of view. We do not always know how you have aquired our details, plus you hear such a lot about scam calls wanting your personal information. Perhaps the genuine companies should explain how they have got your details - or perhaps write to people asking for opinions. I do not answer the phone if a number comes up which I do not recognise, as we have been bombarded with calls from people selling. The elderly feel even more vunerable, I know my parents do, they have now had an answer phone so they can monitor who calls them.
I am not surprised people get cross if they have had several calls over an evening, or come home from work to find several missed calls from numbers they don't recognise. - JulesWho is this? Calling every evening - take a hint whoever you are!!!
- Simon FYeah I keep getting calls from these people as well.
- Annoyed! In reponse to the employee
What makes you think, that when you are calling people several times a day at unsociable times, (the times you are 'allowed' to ring between are of no interest to people who have young children or work nights), you deserve to be spoken to in a civil, polite way?
YOUR behaviour I deem uncivil and inpolite and so you can expect a reponse I decide is appropriate to that!
IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT AS YOU ARE 'ONLY HUMAN' THEN DON'T CALL MY PHONE! - ElaineI have just answered a call from this number. Caller asked to speak to my husband (name given not even correct). I said he was working, and started to ask if I could help or take a message but the caller didn't let me finish and cut me off half way through my request. So to the employee of Ipsos Mori - you ask us not to be rude or impolite to you: how about the staff lead by example?
- Caller: Ipsos Mori
- WillWith regard to the Ipsos MORI employee's comments above, rule A.8 of the Market Research Society's code of conduct (to which all MRS members are bound) states that "Members must not act in a way which might bring discredit on the profession, MRS or its Members". I would deem the unprofessional and patronising tone adopted by the employee to be in breach of this. The full code of conduct can be read here:
http://www.mrs.org.uk/standards/downloads/code2005.pdf
Ipsos MORI is a member of the Market Research Society - see full list of members here:
http://www.mrs.org.uk/companypartner/companies_atoz.htm
Although the employee is right in her assertions, there are two courses of action open to you:
1) Complain about the appalling tone of the above message from the employee to the Market Research Society: info@mrs.org.uk
2) If you have received more than one call without permission, or have been called outside of the hours when they are allowed to call (see clause B.20 of code of conduct - link above), then you have grounds for a complaint to MRS (info@mrs.org.uk) and could, in the event of repeated calls, also complain to ICO or police on grounds of harassment.- Caller: Ipsos MORI
- MargaretThis number just called me for the first time. No message was left. I didn't answer as I wanted to check on here who was calling first. I sincerely hope this will not become a habit.
In response to the Mori employee. I do want to give my opinion on things but I want to do it when it is convenient for me. That is why I am a member of various internet based market research forums. They e-mail me when there is a new survey and I log on and complete it at a time that suits me. I do not wish to be called at random times to answer questions on the phone. It's extremely annoying doing telephone surveys, hence the reason I choose to do them online.
Another incentive to do the surveys online is that many of these companies are prepared to give rewards such as store vouchers in return for the time spent doing surveys. I've never been offered any reward for telephone surveys - maybe that's because they are paying the people who make the outgoing calls instead.
