Sotop worrying, it's a 3rd party company on behalf of O2 calling to discuss tariffs suited to you more.

O2 Customer Service have just this second confirmed this.

I don't believe these people that are claiming it to genuinely be o2. The people that rang me were SO persuasive for my bank details, it wasn't natural at all. Whatever you do DON'T give your details over the phone to some unknown caller, especially these guys. If the deals they're offering are so amazing then ring o2 yourselves or check out their official website.

I have just started to get calls from this number.  When I answer nobody is there.  Why does it continue?  How can I stop it?

alreet ppl, ive been getting these missed calls too but have never answered because im at work, they always ring at 10:15am (give or take a couple minutes)....gonna ring o2 up later and find out if this is genuine or not......

hi i just got a call from this number, the first thing the man said is i need your name i said why do you want my name im not giving it too you, and he was very rude to me i called 02 and to be honest they didnt seem to care or want to know i explained about this website and they brushed me off with a story about upgrades i explained they were not offering me this they were scammers, and basically iv just been told to ask for a name or reference if it happens again i shall let them know im making the police aware!

i work for the company making calls rom this number well i did got saked on friday lol.use are right it is not directly o2 we are an outsourcer for o2 we get all numbers from them the company dialling is lbm direct marketing the campign i was on was calling o2 customers with details we obtain from o2 about your paug account to see if we can ofer a better deal via contract. hope this clears up that it AINT A SCAM

im on o2 and it says its info hotline (automatically stored number on my simcard) when i phone back they have no record of phoning me...5times now and everytime i answer they hang up after 20r3 seconds

i live in south wales and have also been getting these calls about 12 o'clock and 4 o'clock every single day for the last week. i havent answered as i dont like answering to numbers that i dont recognise. im also on 02 as a pay as you go customer. is it just o2 pay as you go customers that are being baggered by this annoying number or o2 contract customers too?
plus what number to i call o2 on to block this number? its really starting to bug me now!!

I to receive calls from the same number but because I do not answer numbers that i do not recognize I just leave it alone.

I have been getting this number constantly for the past week, glad I checked this out in more detail, how annoying! Confirms to me that I should not pick this up. Maybe they're targeting people on a certain tarrif, can we try and work it out?

I'm on the 300 text per month with a £10 top up, using o2 treats and rewards.


Perhaps its a ploy to get people to upgrade to their £15 per month unlimited calls and texts? By forcing you to eventually tire of it and change sim cards?

Ive seen from the comments at the begining of this thread that this number has been bothering people for around 6 months, now im with O2 with the 300 free texts with £10 top up per month, and have been with this pay as you go plan for around 2/3 years.

I havnt changed my plan or even spoken to anyone from O2 for a number of months but i have just started to receive calls from this number in the past month of two. I really dont get it.

However, i have never answered the call because it is a strange number and from the numbers pre-stored on my phone O2 customer care is saved as 4445, and from what i have read from past comments it sounds a bit dodgey to me.

hi, i have recieved about 8 missed calls from 02202 but when i did manage to answer, no one was there and after afew seconds it hung up on me. i keep getting them and was wondering who it is? maybe the best idea is to bar the number from ringing. x

I have just phoned LBM head office on 0161 929 5799 after receiving phonecalls from this number for the last few weeks and spoken to "Christine" their complaints manager. She was unfortunately at the airport but took my number and promised to have it removed from their system. She did note that she didn't recognize "02202" as a number they used but there is a lot of evidence pointing back to this company.

Never one when I have answered the call have I spoken to a human, the line has always gone dead after 5-30 seconds.

Time will tell if this phone call I have made has helped

I have been rung everyday in the last week by this number but have been unable to answer it as I am always in lessons at school at the time. I am on an O2 pay as you go tariff.
I rang O2 to see if it was one of their numbers but they denied that it was.
After reading the comments on this page I rang O2 again to get the number blocked, but was this time told that it was an O2 data marketing company calling. O2 has now put a block so i will not be called by this number again.
Hope this is helpful to anyone else faced with the frustration of these annoying calls!

I to was pestered by this bloody number for around two weeks. I phoned O2 Customer Services and was informed that it was a third party company working for O2. I said that the constant calling was a pain in the [***]! and wanted them the number blocked.  I was informed that they could not stop the calls.  I then said, OK not a problem I will switch to Vodaphone.  And guess what? 02202 have not rang me again!!!

got a call from this number told me they were from o2 and can up grade my sim is this an o2 number

they keep calling me, i answered once, the person started asking me about my handset, deals that i'm getting, then offered a "better" deal... i told them that i'm not interested but still i keep getting the flamin' calls... i'm sick and tired..i ignore them all the time, but it doesn't seem to work... and there is another number that started calling me 08080000144. read the comments about it, suspected to be scam... i think they both are. be careful ppl!

i got this call and answered it immediatly thinking it was O2 now im getting nervous and aggitated with who it could be :(
i know not to anwswer to that again!
