02202
Report a phone call from 02202 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- FE02202 just called me..didn't deliberately miss the call. I would have probably answered if I didn't google and see this page. A bit worried now. Some of you say its the sales team, others have queried and said it's nothing to do with o2. Hmmm...What to do what to doo
- gavinpolite foreign bloke rung me just now, and has sold me sumfin without me even realising alot of noise in the background. all i heard was it was free for first 3 months and i dont know how much it is after 3 months. not happy if it is a scam.!
- Caller: 02202 claiming they were o2
- gavini have just phoned o2 customer services and they have said its not a scam and they're giving me extras! dont know if this will help anyone?

- SamArgh! Keep getting these calls.
Just answered and it was a northern women. She just said 'hi' then hung up. Bit worried about it really. - KateI've had ANOTHER call from this number - it's becoming so annoying. I am ex directory with O2, how do they get your number? I have reported it to O2 but nothing has happened, i've never answered it incase it was a scam but starting to get annoyed with it now. Maybe we should all get together and do something about it, maybe then someone will take some sort of action to get it sorted. As I read above, they're just contacting anyone, if they are contacting children too we need to be stepping up, I don't have children but would be horrified if my child was verbally abused over the phone for not giving details or being vunerable enough to give anyone else's details away. This needs to be stopped! I am not willing to change my number because they can obviously access your number anyway, what is the point, they'll just get it again. Fingers crossed it gets sorted!!!

- AnnoyedThis is SO not o2.
For people in doubt due to the mixed response, think of it this way - if phone users like yourselves have rung up o2 and got told by o2 themselves that this number isn't them then that's the most likeliest truth. People certainly wouldn't come here to lie about that. Unlike the comments saying it IS o2, who have everything to gain by making people like you believe it's o2 so you can pass on all your card details to them.

I had two calls from 02202 on consecutive afternoons while at work (so couldn't answer). However after the second call, I tried ringing 02202 straight after work that day. The number was "unrecognised" according to my O2 mobile phone, so instead I called O2 Customer Care (4445 from my mobile),
Was given several options and told that if I were an O2 customer this call would cost me exactly 25p (which it DID); chose option 5 for "all other business" and spoke to a very nice chap called "Mohammed." He said the calls would have come from a "third party" and it was probably a marketing call, maybe about O2 call charges and whether I was getting the best deal. However he could not be certain, as there were no "notes" on my account which would explain the calls. Also I would "probably be contacted again" and there wasn't anything he could do about it.
Suggested to "Mohammed" that if these were marketing calls, they might be about an "O2 Surprises" offer I had recently received and claimed, but not completely followed through to physically obtaining the goods. (Explained that I had received the email which confirmed the award of the offer). Mohammed replied that he didn't know; when I asked if there was a time limit on such offers, he said "not that he knew of."
Up to posting this comment, I have not received another such call, but this is only the day after I spoke to Mohammed, and not as far on in the day as the original calls. I still don't know who the "third party" might be - but Mohammed did seem to confirm that such calls do take place and that they are made on O2's behalf.- Caller: Not Known but connected to O2
- ******this person or w.e it is callin ppl but they r obv just being pervy so just hang up if this thing calls u !! =)
- Sceptical SeanI received a call from 02202 yesterday (21/09/09) the man on the phone was English and told me that he was calling on behalf of o2. He asked if I was the owner of the phone (I am) he asked if I was over 16 (I am).
He informed me that my sim card was not registered and inquired if I would like to register it. I asked him about what this would require, he mentioned a few details about myself and as I’m aware of scamming and such I pleasantly declined. He then asked me if I was happy with the current tariff I was on. Currently I’m not happy so having given no details out I thought I would carry on with the conversation. He informed me of a new free 3 month trial for a bolt on that gives me 50 minutes of calls to any network any time and that it would cancel itself after 3 months. And a new text & web service which would give me unlimited texts for £10 and for £15 it would be unlimited texts and web usage.
I agreed to change as it sounded like a good deal and I had not given any of my details away. The only thing he asked after all this was what type of phone I was using, and if I was happy with it (I am).He informed me that I would receive a confirmation text within 48 hours.
So, after the phone call I go on Google and type in the number 02202 and I’m lead to sites such as these, immediately I start to think that I just dodged an attempted scam but I’m confused as I was not pushed for personal details.
I wake up today (22/09/09) to find 2 texts off o2 confirming the agreed change. I had 5p on my balance so I tested out the free minutes and they worked. So in conclusion....I’m still confused. I didn't give any details away, I got what I wanted and it all seems too good to be true. I will return with further news as I get it. - BethanyI have been getting these phone calls near enough every week for the past half year and I have no idea what to do about them. I just had another call, so I answered but didn't speak - a male voice kept saying "hello, hello?". The line sounded clear as though he were in an office or speaking through a headset. How can I contact o2 to report this number or stop it from phoning me once and for all?
- mattmy friend got a call frm this no. and he asked me did i know it funny enough it strikes a resemblence to 02 networks info hotline
- confusedI had a call from 02202 yesterday. I read a lot of the comments on here and decided to call O2 on the number which I know is for O2.
They have no record of this number being anything to do with them and they don't sell our details to anyone apparently...
How do they get all our details then? - FoxI just got my 2nd call from this
I did pick up yesterday but no one talked... and I just hung up.
Didnt bother trying to pick up the 2nd time. - 02202i'm getting really annoyed with these calls, i also have been recieving them between half 12 and 12.45 evry day for the past 5 days..
does anyone know how we can stop these calls??- Caller: 02202
- EmI keep getting these calls but i always miss them because my phone is usually on silent for college, they left me 2 voice messages and both were about 2 seconds of silence. After reading everything here i def wont answer it.
- MattHave had upwards of 20+ calls from this number at various times over the last few weeks, all between 10AM - 7PM, Mon - Fri. Haven't answered as I'm at work. Reading the comments on her it sounds like a 3rd party that works for/with o2.
- SuzanneI too like everyone else has received numerous calls from this number, I have never answered, again only answer calls from numbers that I know. If it was from O2, you would get a text or email or phone call to your house as they have all these details or even the old fashioned method, a letter!! It is annoying, but simply best to ignore them I think.

- HarleyHi,
I received a call from this same number at 19:39. Like alot of people I dont like accepting calls from a strange or unknown number. Something didnt seem right when my text to it bounced back. Here I am on this site with the same questions. Its un-nerving when some of the comments show this is perhaps a scam, then a few... I mean a few are positive. I work with the police/government so my recomendations are for the people who are getting constant hassle from this number especially youngsters, contact o2 if they cant give a good honest reason that its from themselves, then its their responsability as you sevice provider to bar the number. Wont go into all the legal eagle stuff, but I asure you I will being doing this myself.
I will keep you all up-dated.- Caller: 02202
- katiehave received various calls from this number over the last few weeks and have never answeard it cuts is bugging me because i dont now who it is i am also a member of o2 network theyre has also been voicemails left.
- JPI noticed these calls coming through just after i changed tarrif to the new text & web tarrif from my very very old tarrif approx 3 days ago, i have no doubt that it is just someone trying to better my deal and offer me a crappy contract which i don't want or need, and it's more likely someone from the o2 sales team as opposed to the help desk. I myself work on a help desk and i am aware of the lack of communication that goes on between various departments. I haven't answered it yet as i'm normally at work when they phone me but i will be sure to answer it and politely say no thanks, then put the phone down before i can receive any verbal abuse or more questions.
