hi have been getting these calls for a couple of weeks now. I answered it once and could only hear a busy switch board then they hung up. I have just called O2 they said it was the O2 simplicity team calling to offer new tarrifs. I said i didn't want them calling me and he has put in a request to get these calls stopped but it could take 28 days which sounds legit to me.

I've just had a call from this number but didn't answer it - never do if I don't recognise the number.  Having read the comments on this forum I'm glad I didn't bother.  Whoever you are don't bother trying again - you'll be wasting your time.

I have been getting these calls everyday around the same time (6.30pm ish), they just called again, i didn't accept it, but they left a blank messege which was a bit pointless.

    So annoyed.

Same as most of the messages on here, it's been ringing for a week and when I answered I didn't say anything and it was dead air. It rang today when my boyf was sat next to me and I told him I thought it was a scam and so he answered to check. the thing is, the person knew HIS name and it's MY phone. At first I thought it must be our car insurance company or something, they have my number as our contact but I came on here to check and it would seem it is a scam. It might also be linked to address though, as my boyf n dad share the same first name (we live with the rents) and so it could be the guy on the phone heard a man on the phone and took a stab that it was the home owner...freaks me out whatever it is. I'm leaving O2 soon anyways, they're too expensive in comparison to the others now and if they've sold our information that's just wrong.

Rang customer services who told us it was the sales team, been transferred to the sales team to block the calls and they've said it's not them. The info hotline is 2202 and obv this caller is adding a 0 infront, so customer service are just assuming it's them. We're on hold now as the sales person is checking it out... O.kay, he's been informed it must be the sales team from a different location...I think i've already read this, that someone was on hold and then the person on the other line changed their story, that it was infact them. We've been taken off the public directory so shouln't receive anymore unsolicited calls. It sounds like such a faff, ignore the number and call customer services, get yourselves off public directory.

Omg all of you are mentally challenged paranoid [***], I work for o2 and this is an outbound number based in either Manchester of Belfast. If all you [***] [***] actually listened to what the person has to say then you will realise that there are some good deals on that will save you all money, not that you deserve it. I hate you all

I don't care if this is O2 or isn't O2. My number is ex-directory and I have opted out of marketing calls and texts.

If this is O2, they are breaking data protection law by using my information for a purpose I have specifically told them not to. If it isn't O2, they've my number to a third party, mistakenly or deliberately, in which case I'm not happy.

I've been in contact with O2 customer services who have filled in a data suppression form for me and advised that I register with www.tpsonline.org . If the calls do not stop, I will be changing provider and making a complaint to the relevant regulatory bodies.
