Phone rang, wife answered, something Mrs XXXXXXXX wanted, my wife said it was her,
voice answered "dont mess me about you f---ing stupid [***], stop playing games", then slammed pnone down.................

Just received call from this number, to advise about overpayment of bank charges, that's strange i haven't before had to pay bank charges also apparently the foreign speaking person on the phone advised it was monies the government were refunding, but they needed me to confirm my bank details they read out the first 4 digits of a bank card and needed me to fill the missing gaps of the rest, i hung up in the end because i wasn't getting nowhere, they immediately rang back to which i let my daughter answer they didn't speak and just hung up!

Someone keeps calling, and uses highy offensive words.
It is very disturbing and is taking up my time. They call saying that we can claim, and the whole security thing.

left for a second on my answer phone. Sounded like a call centre, now I am concerned that this is a fraudilent company trying to gain access to peoples bank accounts

Have got a few calls from this number which  I found out by dialling 1471 but they hang up without speaking. I'm registered with the TPS and should not be getting these calls. Fru

got a call from this number on 1st Nov 2012 i was out at the time but it was on 1471. All this PPI crap is rubbish , its a government created Constant Distraction exercise to make people run round on a hamsters wheel so we cant fight back against what theyre doing . ignore it and get on with whats important in life.

I've just had a call from 'UK Department of Finance'.  Again an Asian-sounding man who wanted to refund all my bank charges.  I said I'd never heard of that institution and refused to give him my date of birth at which point he put the phone down.  His number: 0225 680256.

got a call from this number and can not ring back. I have checked with this site and it seems to be scammers.

Said he was from UK finance department New my name address d.o.b gave me first 4 numbers of a card I dont have had a very strong accent I told him if I was owed this money just send me a cheque he wsd not impressed and was getting angry I told him I spud check him out & that i. Would phone my bank to co.firm this he gave his name ad Paul Stevens he then told me if I don't give him information first then i would be disqualified I then hung up he wad getting on my nerves.

When not willing to answer questions he told me to F*** off and hung up

Most of this week I received calls from this number. Because the number is not one I recognise I let it go to the answer machine and of course they would not leave any message. When I tried to find out more about this number i realise it's not allocated as one of the above found out. Further searches led me to the fact that this is a new scam originated from India trying to benefit from the PPI scandal.. Their strategy is similar to the Nigerian 419 scam.
A word of advice: if you are a BT customer you get get cheap machines that can block out nuisance or unwanted numbers and stop the unnecessary aggravation of listening to these rude and crude scammers. Or put the phone down as soon as you hear a heavy asian accent asking for personal details of ANY kind.

I recieved a telephone call from this  02256800256.... they were very misleading by the lead questions they were asking, making out that they were calling form a bank and wanting to refund over paid charges back into accout......

When I challenged the male caller, I am not overly sure, but I thought he said to me to "[***]"..... either way this type of cold calling it not acceptable a could prey on vulnarable people.

respond to spam calls like these using your caller display answer the call immediately with.. "police line number tracing, your call has been forwarded to branch 3. Call number is now logged and action is being taken" then hang up then phone. Any Indian from Bangalore who has half a peanut of a brain will [***] themselves so much you never get another call.

so did i i he told me i had bank charges to come back and asked me for my date of birth but something told me to be concerned and i wanted him to call back when my husband was here

also the other day i goit a phone call form a survey compony about charity donation  i said yes or maybe to to making a donation and now for the last five days differant charitys have called me   the people doing the survey did not inform me they were sharing my details with other people  we are actually on the tpi list  its so annoying

yes this is what alerted me to the scam
it was very worrying as they knew my name and post code

I had a call today from them, introduced himself as Mike from same number. When I said I had no claim for PPI he told me to f*** off. I replaced the reciever and he rang again telling me to f*** my dog. DISGUSTING.

called by indian accented male at 6.15pm Monday 5th Nov.
was told that apayment taken in error from my bank account and they needed bank details to reinstate---HAHA !! my wife shouted at the sleaze on the phone that he was a --liar and should be locked up. I feel for the elderly people that fall for this scam -- can this number not be investigated and closed down

This number called my home both today and yesterday and on both occasions as soon as I answered the phone, they hung up.  I 1471'd it and got this number.  Googled the number and lo and behold, there are comments about it.  Sorry I can't tell you any more but sounds like it should be avoided!

Had lots of calls in the last frew days from this number.
Am yet to have anyone talk to me they just hang up!

i got call off this number a few minutes ago saying i was owed money would i like cheque or straight in bank they asked for d o b...i said srry dont give d o b on phone he hung up..there con artists problem is there not in this country be careful ev 1 dont give any details....
