    Gee
Got a call from tel no:02256800256  'John' who claims to work on behalf of UK FINANCE DEPT on behalf of the British High Court no less!

Hes based in Eastbourne apparently but living in a room in London.

Here goes.... He had my name postcode, a bit shocking. He offered to pay refund of bank over charges of undisclosed amount by cheque or through bank account then asked 'which would I prefer?' This person had a thick indian accent im not racist but persons like this aid bringing about negative stereotypes because of their obvious fraudulent intent. Anyway having a bit of time on my hands I decided to plug him for info to pass on.  His office is in Eastbourne as mentioned to which I offered to go & personally pick up payment.  He then supplied Postcode BN22 6AZ, and a number 01270772857 which is a dead line!   He would not give any further address details claiming the senior manager would provide them.  Its a real intrusion these calls im looking to get TPPS to help block these dodgy dealers.

Received a call today, this is the most obvious blatant scam ever. It just just shows how desperate people are getting. Funny thing is no one has ever walked to me in the street saying you are owed money and I have got the cheque for you and done all the hard work for you out of goodwill. So why would they do so over the phone because its a scam and you will never find them or know what they look like.

NEVER EVER GIVE OUT ANY BANK DETAILS unless you are totally sure.
If by previous message these tend to be Indian then never do so - these are phishing for details and you find funds drained from your account until it is too late.

Anyway they did not leave a message due to TRUE CALL machine as it cuts these utter pig loving [***] dead in their tracks, see web site for info or utube for demo. I have total control on all incoming calls with this machine.

It mainly all started when moving from talktalk as their Internet operations are based in either Malaysia, South Africa or India. They always blame the customer not their equipment or service. It must be them that have sold my number on - waste of time due to true call. As these pig loving lot are based outside the UK or EU they do not follow data protection laws as set here.

They morons can carry on but will never get to leave a message

Basically these pillocks want your bank number to get access to you money! Do notallow them!

I got this number 0225 6800 256 and they hung up before I had a chance to enquire whose calling!  I redialled the number and put the prefix 141 and an operators voice said "the number you have dialled has not been recognised".  Enough said - when is this nuisance calling going to stop?

I heard my phone ringing but didn't answer it in time. A 1471 gave the curious 02256 800256. Attempts to return the call failed after dialling just 022.

a man from this number rang my mother but would not talk to me.  He just put the phone down.  I am concerned as my mother has Alzheimers and might not be able to deal with any fraud issues.

    Similarly plagued replies to ck
I have been ex-directory for more than 10 years, but received similar call and the caller knew my name and address.

Called himself Jack Pietersen, from so-called UK Claims and Finance Department, which he said is a government department working to guidelines from High Court.

His pitch took similar line to those reported from others on this forum, ie: you qualify for claims xyz,  would you want to be paid by cheque or directly into bank account. When challenged on how he might know I was owed anything, and if so how much, he said such details could be discussed later.

I ended the conversation once he read out my address. Seems like someone somewhere is buying/selling confidential information.
