My wife spoke to a man with a very heavy Indian accent claiming to owe her money. He had her name, address, post code and first four digits of her credit card. He then tried to trick her into giving the rest of the card details as "verification". Luckily she told him to ram it and put the phone down, only for him to call back and ask her how long she had been a virgin??? At least the little buggers are having fun eh?

I have a caller display and when this number came up I just let it ring, jotted down the number and queried it here.  I have telephone preference, so don't know how they bypass it.

Had a call today from apparently "1st Call Claims" giving address and website address and trying to force me to give my old card details to them on a recorded line after giving me loads of blub about bank charges etc. Scary that they already knew my name, address and start of old bank card number details etc. DO NOT give them any information. They were very convincing, but don't fall for it. Called my bank and made official complaint about them anyway to Police for records.

I too received a similar call allegedly from the UK Department of Finance, quoting an address as Lesley Street, Eastbourne, from an heavily accented Indian male. Worried that they may already have my card details I became suspicious and was then put through to a "senior manager" in the name of Mark Taylor and when asked further details I simply hanged up. I then went to my bank and immediately stopped my card. Having got home I received a nasty call on my answer-machine telling me that all my funds had been taken from my account (not true!) and thanking me for proving that they were indeed "scammers." That is not the word I would use for these parasites! These people are indeed convincing but don't fall for it!

It was my turn today to have the guy with the strong Indian accent call!  As with other folk it was about refund of bank charges.  Couldn't help me with my question of how he knew I was due a refund!  Noisy background.  Out of curiosity I tried phoning back but had the "this number hasn't been recognised" response

Got a call from this number and a  very persistant indidn gentelman wanting my card details, saying that they owed me money. I would not give details and put phone down. 30 seconds later got another call from withheld number from another indian gentleman asking again for my details. He said he had my card  number and I asked him to verify this, he obviously could not and I told him I was unable to give him my card number and he eventullly gave up and said that they would send me out all the paperwork in a few days!!!!!!!

Ringing persistently, sometimes hanging up and tonight saying about bank charges to be reimbursed and asking how I want it paid - check or direct. Refused to give any personal details and was told they had my bank account and told me my postcode. Kept refusing and the foreign sounding man kept on with his script. They were not deterred when I informed them that I should not receive these kind of unsolicited calls as signed up tps.meven told them I thought it was a scam and still continued! In the end I told them I was hanging up but remains to be seen if they call again.

They bypass TPS because they phone from abroad.
TPS is for calls from UK only, I believe.
Don't answer ANY questions, just ask them lots - it really annoys them.
Don't confirm ANY information they give you.

Received call as many above claiming to be from UK Department for Finance. Strong Indian accented man informed my husband that we were due some money back and asked if he wanted cheque or direct into account. Reeled off card number which sounded very similar to my husbands and wanted him to give out the CVV code on back of card. We obviously wouldn't give this out. My husband asked where he was calling from so that we could check them out on the net. They said they were from Sussex but the company given are based in NI !!  Eventually my husband put the phone down but they rang back 3 more times and started calling my husband a c**t, me a [***] and said they had our address and would be freezing our account within 5 mins and clearing it of all funds! We immediately called the police who gave us this website. We also contacted our bank. Advise is to just put the phone down and refuse to speak.  Knobs!!!

This number phoned me on saturday night at 19.30...12/05/2012...A indian man began asking questions about my fianance.
When i questioned him on what he wanted at this time on a saturday.
He started getting very angry and hurled insults to me .Threatening to rape my wife and assualt me.At first i thought this was a sick prank but it went on for a bit as i told him to do one.
I was shocked at the filth he was saying.
This matter was then reported to the police who to there credit came to me the next day and explained they had 12 other reports of the same abuse.
This kind of stuff needs to be stopped i have kids at home and if they had of picked up the phone and heard the disgusting filth this so called man was saying i would of been mortified.

Had a call tonight & the Indain caller spoke to my wife and established some of our bank detals but wanted the 3 dgit security code. She became susspisious and handed the phone to me. He said we were due a refund from ppi and bank charges but he wanted the last 4 digits of our credit card and  when I refused. he became very abusive and sugessted I had un-natural relationships with my mother! Just watch oul! He said he would freeze our account for 30 days and  on the next call he said he had charged our accout with £100 (This he could noy do)  .We had at least 8 calls from this man and put the phone down each time. These foull mouth scumbags are very professional and could easily convince or even bully and unsuspecting older people into giving up their most impotant details. We have informed our bank and the police....do the same. How do these lowlife's sleep @ night. Best of luck!

    Thank you

    Will
