I received a series of calls from this number but they hung up each time

Had two so far today - have had dozens lately!  Why the hell isnt this number barred?  Its been active for at least 12 months.  Its always silent when I answer.  Am in Staffordshire.

Yes I also got a call, had one before...i kept him talking and he said I was using windows, I told him I used apple mac only...slight white lie :-) he then said i was not telling the truth !! I then asked if he was calling me a liar ! I then started to ask him lots of questions, what is your company name: he said 247 Windows Support, I asked for an address: he said Manchester, I then asked for his direct number, he then started to get a little annoyed ! I then said " you a re now going to ask me to log into a web site where you wanna take control of my computer and fix it"..yeah in your dreams Mr Indian man !!! DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO !!!!!!  but can be fun winding them up...the last call

I had a missed call from them - shame.  I would have loved to speak with them I do IT suppot for a living could have been entertaining ;)

Please don't give these people any information.  Only let people or company's you trust remote connect to your computer.

got 3 calls on monday and 1 today - but had many before then! I have a display-caller phone so most of the times I do not pick up on the list of numbers I have by my phone. But I picked up this time just for the fun of it - played dumb and let them talk me through what I should be doing - was asked if computer was on etc. played the stupit blond act [I am blond but far from stupid!] end of the story - never had the computer on never did what was asked of me and at the end I congratulated this idiot of being absolutely spot on especially with my last punchline: I do not have a computer and I am 73 years old - and haven't got a clue what he is talking about. He was not very happy but I was delighted with his response! which I obviously can't print.  I am a blond and I am actually 73 years old and I do posses a cumputer but would never give details of anykind over the phone!! Feeling quite pleased with myself!

caller stated his name was allan smith broad foreign accent from microsoft windows. he stated they were receiving error messages from my pc and he stated he was going to help me with this problem. this is the 3rd call of this nature the first 2 times i kept the person talking for a while, but amusement factor is wearing off now and i'm getting fed up with it. i live in yorkshire

Keep getting calls on this number usual scammers never answer it now .

Got call.guest answered it and repeated 3 times to hold on but caller carried on,
callers name Angel told on her Telephone preferential service and hung up insisted she was from computer maintainece, Called number back and got message didn't exist

all that has been said but i stupidly did what was asked of me.... scared me as to what he could 'see' in my PC....... now im trying to sort out extra help with my PC but really dont know what to do for the best..... West Berkshire area now ! :(

they phone  me as well he said my pcs hard drive effeced.they can see from usa.i just hang up

Harrow U3A have sent a warning email round to members about this scam.

have had a call from this number every day this week !!!!!  what a nuisance,  my h ubby phoned them back and got number unobtainable.  who are they?

Just had a call from 02538020308. Pause / silent for a second or two when I answered - so obviously a call centre. They knew name. Asked about Gas / Electricity supplier. Hung up when I asked why they were calling my number as I am registered on the Telephone Preference Service (TPS).

had a customer tell me they had an indian guy say he was from windows?(right!) and wanted a serial number from his operating system.He played it well and told him where to go.There are many people getting cought up with these scams and actually paying them with credit cards!I had an elderly guy tell me he paid £90 the first time and £45 the second time.
Come on we need to stop these scum from robbing us!there is no mention of this in the media if so they might not get away with it so easily.

Just had a call from this number.  Isn't there anything anyone can do to stop them?
Didn't really listen much to message but if it starts to persist in phoning me it could be annoying.
It shows you that BT's system for preference answering services or whatever is bloody useless.

Despite the number, this call is from India. They even use the same number with the 00 prefix instead of 02. The scam was highlighted on "You've been Scammed", BBC1, 21st November.  These people will install spyware/malware on the computer if given remote access.  Any money the ask for seems to be a diversion to hide what they are really doing.  The Director of Security for Microsoft stated, on the same programme, that neither they, nor their partners, would ever cold call you.  It is a breach of their privacy rules.  These clowns seem to have stopped 'phoning me (I hope) because the last time the woman who called said her name was Sheila (indian accent) and I told her mine was Mahendra Singh Doni!

Male Asian voice.  Said hello three times then hung up.  As I'm with Talktalk, I dialled 1477 and logged it as a malicious call.
