Swansea area: was called by Global IT solutions this morning(Saturday) at 9am on my first lie-in for half a century, so whoever had woken the Kraken was already in a bad place to start with..
Barely understandable Asian man trying to get me out of bed and in front of my pc- the game is afoot! Firstly, told him that as a disabled person (which I am) it takes me an age to get to my pc. He said he'd wait. Excellent! Left the phone as it was and went and got a coffee, fed the cat etc. Went back 20mins later and he was still there. Sat with coffee pretending to be at pc but now 'interference' meant that I couldnt hear  him very well, so he had to shout everything three times over. After about ten more minutes I'd gotten bored so just hung up, happy in the knowledge that I'd wasted their time and saved others getting calls in that time. Moral of today's story- don't mess with the Welsh! ;-)

2 or more daily calls from this number.

Hang up when they don't immediately speak as believe its a scam or don't answer. Work nights so have to turn phone off to allow me to sleep. How do I stop this!?!

Had two calls from this number today. Asian man said he was ringing on behalf of Windows. He said his monitor showed I had a virus on my computer. Asked him if this affected Linux. He hung up. My sister gets these calls at least twice a day. She doesn't own a computer. Can Windows do anything? We live in Peterborough. Another number that comes up is 00000000000. No idea what this is. Has anyone had this number?

This number is obviously back in circulation.  Had two calls from them today 06/03/2013 stating they were from 'Microsoft Windows' and that I "had got a virus on my computer".  Abruptly ended the call as I gathered it was a bogus call.  Reported it to a freephone no: 0300 1232040 who take details of suspected Fraudulent calls on behalf of the Police.  I wouldn't bother ringing anybody back if you miss a call.  If it's urgent they will ring you back.

Ha Ha. Excellent ! I had two calls from them today and I wish I had thought of that; well done.  I was advised by Sheffield Police, general enq section, that it is a 'scam' doing the rounds again. So annoying tho.

Caller with Indian accent said he was from 'Windows Support' and they had identified my machine was infected with a virus.  I needed to put my PC on and he would talk me through it.  I asked how he had my telephone number as it was ex directory and he said all my information was held on my licence.  I asked for the licence number and he garbled a string of letters and numbers which I wrote it down.  He said the licence number may not be one I recognised   He insisted that I put on my PC so he could contact me through that and show where the virus was.  I ended the call.

This number called me on 23/03/13 at 12.26 pm.
Asian woman asked if I was the phone owner - I said no - then  she asked if I was a family member - again no.
This seems to be a good tactic to get rid of these (and similar)
I also like  "I don't accept unsolicited calls" - never thought of that !

had a call from this number saying they were from EON Energy and that I was due for a discount because of a collaboration with British Gas. They were after personal details but clearly already had some that they quoted at me?

Just received a blank phone call from 02538 020308 answered it and the automated voice simply said "bye" and hung up.....thinking it was quite strange I researched the phone number which brought me here......while reading these, I get another phone call from 01233 378555, and it was the asian voice telling me allsorts of weird and wonderful things, claiming to be from the Windows Care team. I told him that this team was new to me and he went on to say my computer was downloading illegal files, to which I asked him why this Windows SCare Team were ringing when I only have an mac????? You can guess that the line went dead....seems that they will call you first to see if you pick up then really call you from the 2nd number as well now.........my message to these cockroaches, get a real job....everyone else has to......

Guy called today from 02538020308. he said I had a problem with my computer. At first I denied having a computer and told him he must have made a mistake. He said their records showed that householders computer had a virus. I asked him where he got his information from and why he was spying on me. I told him he must be breaking some laws, and asked him his name, where he was callin from, company name. he finally hung up. Make sure that you pass on to any elderly vulnerable people that this may happen and for them not to give any info to cold callers.

Got a call today from this number.  Oriental sounding lady told me she had obtained my number from BT.  I said that was rubbish and asked for her name, company name and telephone number.  I heard her tell someone in the background that I wanted the telephone number and company name and then a man's voice told her just to hang up and the line went dead!

That is right, they are trying to pretend to fix the problem to get your bank details but also plant a virus that logs everything you do on your PC, every username and password will be passed on to them.
