Just had a call from this number from an Asian guy, I think in India, telling me that he's from the British Saver Survey and wanted to ask me some questions.

He actually asked to speak to my Dad but was also happy to speak to me.

He asked me who my energy supplier was and I told him. He then asked how we paid our bills and I told him. Then he asked me to confirm my first name and I then realised that his questions were a bit odd.

I then started asking him questions while also googling the "British Saver Survey" whilst still being on the line and nothing came up so I told him that I was not going to answer any more of his questions. I also heard someone whispering to him in the background.

Not sure what the scam but something wasn't right about the call.

We have been having a  lot of calls from this number recently, usually says 'goodbye' in a mechanical voice as mentioned by a previous letter on you web site

This call is now in the Doncaster area as they have just called my home number.

This number called me at 8.30am this morning not good when i am still off work on annual leave.

Was not happy did not answer so they now targeting the Wirral area too.

Called for about the forth day running. When I have bothered to answer have had a silent or dead line. Having had this sort of call before and contacted my provider (Talktalk) about stopping the calls. They do have a number barring service but this will cost me to use (as bad as the scammers). If I was a conspiracy theorist I would think that these calls are from the providers to get you to pay for their services.
Why is there no official body who can automatically shut down these lines (as it is obviously a scam) and maybe even prosecute the a***holes that run them?

just got the call today, 13.20pm, Wed. 4 Jan 2012 nobody at other end, only "good-bye". port seton- east lothian area. had a previous call last week - other half answered, person asking about computer problems, suggesting to long on and the caller would help to fix problem! luckily he didnt.. other people in this area have had the same calls. what will they be at next?

I received the same message to day 4th January 2012.  I live in Essex, East Anglia.
He suggested the same about problems with my computer, I ask when is he going to send me this computer as I dont have one at this time.
I suggested he send it through DHL, as they are very quick.  strangley enough he then wrang off.

Has SCAM written all over it.

2 missed calls from this number in the last couple of days. North east Scotland.

I've been called a few times over the last 2 days, just a crackling line  then mechanical 'goodbye', I live in north wales.

Claims to be on behalf of Microsoft. Told me they noticed I have a virus on my computer. I asked her which one as I have several running at the moment and asked her for the IP address but she didn't know what I was talking about. Scarily, she knew my name and address.

This is a well known scam, they offer to fix it for a small fee, take your credit card details, charge you up to 10 times more than they say, give you a link to click to download the solution but the link actually sends a small program to your PC to log all your credit card transactions and bank details if you bank on-line and then they take all your money.

Advise is: HANG UP and tell them nothing.

Now calling Kent area - claiming from Microsoft. Immediately told him that I was not interested in any scams from India - disconnected - how strange

Just had a call from this number, the caller telling me he was from "Windows" about a dreadful virus on my PC that will blow the computer up if not corrected. We asked how he got our telephone number and stated that we don't appear to have any problem with our PC then ended the call. Apparently this is a scam. They ask to remote onto your PC, then claim to have repaired a problem, ask for your bank card details and rip you off that way!

Just received a call about an issue with my PC.  When i started questioning him the issue changed from a PC to a laptop (my work one).  I work in IT and he just ignored this and carried on talking over me.  I had to get very strong with him and re-iterate that I work with IT every day of the week and my knowledge of IT was strong enough to know I did not need his help.  Eventually he gave up and hung up the phone

Got a call today but when I told the man that I knew it was scam to steal information they hung up. Not tried to call the number but took note of it. How can we report this? They have been calling me the last year.

REPEATED MY SET FORMAT TO WASTING THEIR TIME AGAIN - THEY CALLED AT 8. 54 THIS MORNING - LET HIM - ASIAN VOICE - DO THE TALKING WHILE I HAD A LEASURLY CUP OF TEA AND NOT LISTING - AND THEN PUT HIM DOWN AS AN IDIOT! HE WAS NOT TOO HAPPY!

they called 3 times this week saying they from windows it depo asking me to turn on my PC and press the windows key along with the R key ?? which I did not do and ended the call ??
