Iffy call  this afternoon  just hung  up  googled and and found this  site  glad too   hate  these silent  callers

Received a call from a person, asian accent, saying he was from microsoft and was an IT Technician.
Apparently Microsoft had detected a trojan virus during upgrades that had to be removed from the computer.
He asked to press the windows symbol and r so that the run menu appeared, then run eventvwr.
This is as far as I got because this was an obvious scam and I doubt windows have enough technicians to contact every user with computer issues. Said thanks I dont want to do this and hung up.

Just had a call from 02538020308  at 9:45pm when i answerd there was just a silent line

tried to say that we had downloaded a virus on our computer and he wanted us to do "some checks", we declined and threatened to call police before he rung off.

Hi had a call from 02538 020308 at 9.22am this morning. Also had calls from 04259981533 most of the time it comes up international out of area. They say they are calling from Global IT and that they work for Microsoft. Wanting me to go to a site because when we are on internet downloading things  it is flagging up errors on their system!!!   Load of rubbish they call us at least twice a week and i always hangup on them but they still keep calling!!!

Just had a call. Obviously a scam, had a lot of fun stringing him along for 20 minutes.  Finally hung up on me.  Pretended had computer on !!  Glad to stop, waste their time.

Guy called , obviously Asian and said his name was Charlie Brown! Told me Microsoft had picked up lots of problems with my pc and they would help me fix them. I asked which pc, as have 4 and they said it doesn't matter...access any! Anyway, I went along with their questions for short while and got fed up of them not knowing what would happen if I choose differnt options. I did ask where they had my details from and they told me Microsoft.  Big scam and waste of my time.....

This number has rung me every day for a weeks at exactly 11:39 - it's got to be an automated call

Get this call every single day!! Im a customer service manager so know the format very well, I started off by telling them I dont have a computer(I have 2) as the calls kept coming I asked who they are? Where are they based? Why do they have my number as im on the TPS, everytime they hang up which is frustrating, got another one this morning yet another asian lady called brenda, asked to speak to her manager which to my suprise she done but my thoughts were confirmed thats its all a scam when a fired a few questions to him he also hung up so I still dnt know who they are or where there based as theres nothing to track them dwn other than the o208 number which doesnt work!!

Got a call from this number this morning. Silence. I hung up. Interesting that I received regular calls from 3 other numbers (01212 100666, 01616 010066, 02030 601580). Calls this year so far have been on 10th, 17th and 24th January, at 12h04 around 12 and 12h32. Seems their computer is propgrammed to call me on Tuesday at about 12 midday.

Got of phone call about computer CLS ID: just hang up, it's a scam!

I had a  missed phone call from 02538020308 yesterday but the person left no. Today I received another phone call from someone with an Asian accent presenting himself as Microsoft engineer. He said that they received CLS ID messages from my computer telling them it was corrupted by viruses. Then he asked me to press two keys on my keyboard at the same time: the key with the Windows flag and R. A dialog box (pop up window) opened and I was instructed to to type in cmd and then press ENTER. In the black window that was opened he confirmed my computer's CLS ID number "which is known the the owner (me) and by Microsoft only", according to him. When he offered to help me, he asked me to connect to www.ammyy.com. I just hung up for the following reasons as my suspicions were confirmed:

1) When he first called he said that my computer had viruses. When I asked him which one, he couldn't tell me. We have got two laptops and a desktop. Error or virus messages sent should have told them where exactly they were coming from.

2) While I was on the line with him, I started the second computer to follow the same instruction in order to make sure that this man was not talking about a generic file name in my computers. Guest what? I was right, spot on! The same CLS ID was found on both computers which I know are not infected because I use one of the top antivirus software.

3) The website he asked to connect to (http://www.ammyy.com) has no relationship with Microsoft and was to grant him REMOTE ACCESS to my computer with all the implications. I told him that I would not grant him access and that I did not believe that he was not from Microsoft. I tried to convince me but I could not trust him.

rang three times in ten mins -- no one there......................

Been getting several calls each day from 02538020308.  So far, 10 calls today. Always the same, silent on the other end.  We live in Peterborough. Is there any way we can block this number?

My parents have just phoned saying they have had a call from 0253 802 0308 wanting to sort out a 'problem' with their computer.  Luckily even though they are in their 70's they were sharp enough to tell them they didn't have any problems but the gentleman on the phone was quite persistent in saying they had, my mother bless her told him to sling his hook!

Good for you.  The ID number is a new twist they have added.  Far from being unique to your machine it is the Windows Licence Number and is the same on all computers running Windows!!

my parents are in their late eighties and they told an asian speaking woman they dont have a computer at least 3 times. Still everyday for the last two weeks at 10.59am these hateful people are calling and harrassing my sick, frail and disabled parents into an early grave.

Have had a number of these pestilential and unsolicited calls from someone who wants to discuss my computer.
There was vitually no background noise from this numbers call center. The caller voice was female and sounded like Indonesian, Chinese or something like this.
Pretty sure the caller voice did not have an Indian accent.
I hung up.

I recieved a call from this number this morning 1st it was a asian man he said he was from windows technical support and he was  claiming that i had got malware and spyware on my computer then he transferred me to a woman who called herself paula strangely enough she too was asian hhhhhhm she too was saying that i had got lots of viruses on my computer and i needed to purchase a new antivirus/spyware and defender i asked how much it would b and she evaded the question 3 times at this point i was getting a bit irrate, eventually she said they wud b £99 for the basic i told her she was having a laugh as im a single parent with no money and she said put it on a credit card i told her i dont have one and i asked her what part of i have no money did she not understand i was very angry at this point,  and she said well ur computer will crash then i said well thats ok let it crash and she hung up........i am in the Leicester area east midlands..................these people should b strung up what if they got an elderly person or a mentally impared or even a niave person on the other end it really makes my blood boil

just got a call from this number which made me sick after firstly getting my parents name wrong he went on to treaten me to turn my computer on and not knowing my age continued to say how i have been on terrible sites  which i deemed very affensive. then he treatened me saying if he didnt turn on my computer he would crash it. the way he spoke was disgusting he treatened me and didnt listen when i said i found him affensive. not happy about this call one bit. i didnt turn on my comp and say to anyone never do .
