Almost on a daily basis I get "silent" calls from this number.  Its driving me mad.  I am registered with TPS but they haven't helped in the past as they just tell you to get the company name, note dates and times of calls but any unsolicited caller just hang up the minute you start asking questions, even after you let them whitter on about their company, you cannot trace the company - they are all scammers and prey on vulnerable people.

Second call I've received this year from this number. Male Asian voice this time (female last time), telling me straight off that my machine has come up on their system as being infected - was I aware of it?? I told them that I'm a qualified Computer Scientist, that he is talking complete rubbish. Asked whether his conscience allowed him to sleep at night knowing that he was preying on vulnerable people and doing something illegal. [I believe they go onto asking you to allow them to control your PC remotely, they infect it with a virus, then charge you money to "remove" it...... STEER CLEAR!]

Almost unintelligible Asian telling me that he was from Microsoft.  It was clearly a scam but I decided to have a bit of fun.  We went round in circles..."infected - but not a virus?", "can't my anti-virus clear it", "where did you get my number", "are you employed by Microsoft and can you prove it" ...

I asked if I could call him back but he said "no" as I wasn't a registered customer...he then became quite rude and said, "I'm asking the questions!"  I'd had enough by now and told him I knew it was a scam laughed at his attempts to convince me it wasn't then hung up.

I'm glad they use non-English speakers to do this as it makes them easy to spot but please tell everyone that you meet about these scum...they conned a member of my family before I could do anything about it and it cost him about £300, and his dignity!

says the company is "Technical of Windows User" very thick Indian accent; spoke to 3 people 'cos I didnt understand what they were saying - all called John!!
claimed they were the computer maintenance department and wouldn't harm my computer

I wish I had read these comments earlier. I've just had a call from this number 02538020308 and was told that my computer had been hacked by hackers in New York and that they had gotten my ip address and they were using it for illegal purposes. They said they could stop them if they could have remote control of my computer, to trusting that's me, so I let them take control of my computer and they showed me all sorts of stuff supposedly done by hackers to my computer and they showed me their company website micro pc care and a contact phone # 18777539167. they started installing some software on my computer at which point I told them that I was not agreeing to pay them for anything. I was passed onto another person because I had just had to shout down the phone to the first one as he would not shut up and listen to anything I tried to say, he just kept butting in everytime I tried to speak. The second person started off being very nice and was trying to explain what they were going to do for me as regards the hackers. he said that the software would block the hackers and it would be a one off payment and last a lifetime. By this time I was begining to realise that this was probably a scam of some sort and I told him that as I was a pensioner I did not have any spare cash to be able to pay them, he started on then about plastic and what card would I like to use. Again I tried to tell him I was not I a postion to pay any monies but he was now getting so he was not listening to me or he chose to ignore what I was saying and just kept on about paying with plastic.
In the end I had to shout over him that I was not paying anything to him because I didn't have any spare money left from my pension. He said could I tell him a date when I might be able to pay, I told him every month was the same, no spare cash. He said he would call in about a month.
I know I should have put the phone down on them and ended the conversation but I wanted to make them understand that I would not and could not pay them and they would leave me alone. If or when they call again I will cut them off. Hopefully they will get the message. Thats what calls from this number 02538020308 are about so do what I should have done and put the phone down.

Received call from this no at 12.30am this morning, Indian sounding voice said he was calling from microsoft,I told him 'to go take a jump in the river' then hung up.Had a lot of these calls last year have been getting calls lately but no one there when I pick up phone.

got a call today at 11am could not make out a single word so knowing it was a scam i pretended too be slightly deaf & slow in the brain dept.after him barking insrutions to me down the phone then a slight pause by him he tried to start up again too which i replied so mate but its not my house &there is no computer here i think he got the message that its costing them the longer you can pretend

This asian woman rang me  about asking for me to check my pc as i may have a computer virus i told her i repair my own pc and then i cut her off she was from ssn services or so she said

Keep getting this call no answer when I pick up the phone my phone company have confirmed it is a scam but they cant block call as it's listed as a company what can I do to stop

we have been called by this number today  02538020308 at 12:53pm the man asked to speak to me i said yes i am . he said he was from the computer maintinence department of what department he didnt state calling in regards to my computer right . there was a pause i answered him and said i didnt have a computer . he then said it again im calling in regards to my computer right . i said i didnt have a computer
there was a pause silent then he hung up . this is a scam he has called me before i was given a crime reference number . but obviously nobody has contacted them . they tried taking remote access of my computer before and they are targeting different areas . please be carefull .

just had a phone call from an asian gent said he was jack sparrow from pirates of the carribean and my computer had a virus. hung up but still phones and leaves automated message.

Just been called by 02538020308. Passed from henchman to evil overlord. Apparently from Microsoft, even happy to give me Microsoft website address and London office address. When I told him the number he was giving me was different  from the one on the website, he said I should call the 'official' number and if I gave his employment number to Kelly the receptionist (yeah, apparently Microsoft only have one receptionist, and yes, she's called Kelly) would tell me to ring him back. After explaining for the millionth time how grateful I was for him calling me out the blue to help me he said 'Hold a minute' and hung up on me. I presume he was off to get Bill Gates to speak to me but accidently hung up on me. Evil people who prey on the trusting!

They've been calling every Friday morning for the last few weeks, each time I haven't made it to the phone before the answering machine kicks in, obviously they don't leave a message!   Newcastle Upon Tyne area now.

Very Asian accent for a Jack. Same old scam, of course, I asked him to give my regards to Bill Gates and hung up. Worryingly, he knew my name though I am ex-directory. This is the third call this week from "Keith", "Trevor" and now "Jack", all from different numbers, which I have blocked with my telecom
supplier's "Last Number Blocker". If you haven't got it, do get it.
I'm in Suffolk, by the way, so it's spreading!

we receive so many, the accent and preliminary patter now gives it away.  'Ee low, eez at meest- air ......followed by my name, herwith witheld .. '  I think it is Mumbai.
These calls are not as innocent as some of your correspondents might think may think. The criminals log a time related pattern of answered calls and unanswered calls and sell data to burglars. That is their secondary line of criminal activity if their prime computer virus plant fails.

The computer scam is obvious and is just a try on to plant a hunting virus. Their apparent bad command of English is just a cover up by some very clever criminals. Why do not the Indian Government respond and arrest these nasty people? Why is our TPS so toothless? Can not GCHQ be asked to hack in to calls from this number and all those like it we see on this and similar web sites? After all, these people are effectively international spies, infringing my, and our, rights under Manga Carter.

Received a call from these morons early this morning.  A Pakistani sounding man asked to speak to a name I have never heard of, I said 'sorry you have the wrong number' and then just hung on the phone knowing full well it was a scammer. He did not reply, so I continued to hang on the phone until he cut the call after about 15 seconds.  I cannot for the life of me understand why the telephone companies put up with these criminal calls, because that's what they are, criminals trying to get your information, there is no excuse as this number 02538020308 is an old one having been used for years.
