Received 3 calls from this number - one after the other (very persistent) , i just let them ring off as i  wont answer if I don't recognize the number due to constant calls from sales.
Interesting after reading all the other comments , I live in the Kent area

just had a call from an Indian as well - he could say saver survey.  Told him I had googled him and found this website.  Told him he was a disgrace. The number came up as unavailable.

my stepson just had a call fro mthis number saying that they were from Microsoft and started asking how many computers we had,  what network we were on, could he go on to one etc. He politely told them to call back when his parents are home! I am in the Oxford area

asian caller  says hes from microsoft reports that had notification of viruses om my computer can I start up my computer
Tell him I'll sort it myself & hang up

Similar sort of thing going on in the Stoke on Trent area. This time the guy (asian accent) said he worked for Microsoft and that there was a problem with the software serial number. Suffice to say he didnt get very far !

Me too!!  Three calls so far today - I'm in Lancashire.

Have had six calls in one day from this number. Dodgy asian guy claiming to be "kenny williams" (have also had steve macintosh and a sarah lol) Trying to sell anti virus software by pretending to have had a report from my computer (funnily enough also my parents computer at a different address but on the same day!)  Just hang up or I like the whistle idea!

These people are con merchants and out to rip people off. If you try and call back the number wont exist. They call from abroad and therefore avoid the law.

Personally I would tell them where to go and be as firm and awkward with them and give as much abuse as possible in an attempt to stop them ringing you. Best advice I can give. They are calling every day at present!! [***]!

Several seconds of silence and then a recorded female voice said "Goodbye".  Thanks - dragged me away from thge Olympics cycling and missed the end of the race. grrrrrr!!!!!!!

Just had two calls from this number. Firstly an asian female and then a male.

Apparently I had a problem with my PC!!!

I refused to deal with them!

Had another three calls from this number today.  The first two were several seconds of silence followed by a recorded female voice saying "Goodbye".  On the third call an Indian or Pakistani voice said he was from "The Computer Maintenance Company" at that my computer was send out error warnings to Microsoft that my system was infected by a virus. I have come across this company before and know that they are trying to set up I scam so I told them in no uncertain terms that I knew what they were up to and asked them to stop calling me.

Have been recieving calls from this number for about a week, as I don`t answer unknown numbers I leave them for the answer machine, but no messages. Having read the other messages on site felt it should be reported. P.S. live in West Sussex

9th August 2012 Northampton. Keep getting a call from this number but when i answer nobody speaks..

I have had a number of calls from British Savers Survey but when I dial 1471 they don't leave their number, I'm sick and tired of these people, surely its time that something was done to stop them

I got Daisy telling me my computer was sending her error reports. I asked who she was calling from and she said Manchester. I said WHO not WHERE. She hung up

Keep getting calls from these people. Asian man told me his name was Brendan Foster (!!!) - not with that accent. Woman calling herself Mary tried again about 1 hour ago saying she was calling from Warwickshire. When questionned, she was very rude. That won me over. Told her to hang on a minute, and went to have my breakfast. She was not there when I got back to the phone. Strange  people !

No one on other end on pick up

I have had a sequence of calls from the people claiming to be from microsoft before (around march time) did not go on to computer & questioned the woman as much as possible...she got very flustered & rude. Told her I thought it was a scam & not to call me again. Received two calls this evening from the above mentioned number...did not answer & no message left. I was so annoyed after the first time, the fact that vulnerable people would trust what they were being told, so I reported it as a scam/fraud in the UK. They took basic info & got a call back within a few weeks. They are aware of these scams but seem powerless to stop them. As they are calling from abroad (although number suggests otherwise) they are not breaking any law in the uk! I usually have a bit of sympathy for overseas call centres as just trying to make a living, but these people obviously know what they are doing...I'm liking the whistle idea....may answer the next call now ;-)

been getting up to 4 calls a day, for the last 6 months as my wife (foolishly) fell for the scam. they took about £40 from her (by debit card) then tried taking another £400 out of her account a couple of months ago. luckily i had already made her cancel her debit card straight after the first incident. i now get calls saying they are from the refund dept. i have taken to giving as much abuse to the person on the phone, which still hasnt stopped the calls. recently have been called a mother f***er numerous times, also was told today that he was going to come and stick his c**k in my mouth! going to buy an air horn soon to blow the [***] ear drums out!
