Had this call several times. Asks about my computer so I hang up.

Received a silent call from 02538020308 on Thursday 16th August.  Checked on line and was advised to report it.  Am in the Devon area.

Warning..they are trying another scam...washing machines this time!!
Just received a call ...obviously from overseas call-centre.
hello am I speaking to ......?
No, who is this ?
Is your address......?
No, who are you & where are you calling from....
What make of WASHING MACHINE do you have?
I do not receive cold calls so take me off your list
But what make do you have as your friend william wright gave me your details & asked me to call you..
I don't know anyone of that name...please take me off your list & do not call again
But I am speaking to (the above named person) & have your correct address as this was provided by your friend
No none of the details are correct - take me off your list
I then hung up. By the way I don't have caller ID which is why I answered the phone as expecting a call!

The worrying thing is they are now going down the recommended by a friend route!! Also my surname & address were correct !!

The lady tried telling me that my computer had been downloading viruses and that she could sell me anti-virus software that would help clean my computer.
I have heard of these scams before whereby unsuspecting people have been conned into handing over their credid/debit card details only for the accounts to be cleaned out.

Started on about washing machines so I hung up.  I almosty invariable find that if it's an Asian accent and they ask me if I am Richard * and then ask as to my wellness then it's a call I don't want to take.  I expect I have hung up on my gas supplier and broadband supplier in my haste to be shot of these calls - what a shame.
Pity that these numbers cannot be filtered out by the phne companies really.

Asian "person" who claimed they needed to refund money for a service that they had not carried out, Bank details please, advised him in old english where to putk his refund.

Just got a call from this number. Didn't answer.
I guess the perp just got out of jail. Targeting Bristol

Just had a silent call from these idiots (silence and then a mechanical "goodbye"). In the NE of England.

Got a call from this guy saying my windows computer has been having warning alerts etc....obvious scam!! i listened to his bullsh** speech and then said..well i don't have a windows computer i have a mac so what are you talking about? I said, Stop trying to con people you stupid idiot. He said.. you don't have windows laptop? I said again, no i have a mac.....he went quiet and i said hello? a few times and he hung up. I am at my parents house in Devon also, i hope no-one falls for this dumb con.

This Number called three times in short intervals today,i hope this can be stopped!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have been out this evening came home to three messages on answer machine, two mechanical voices saying "goodbye", last call had the 02538020308 with no message.  They left 20 minutes between calls, went onto the Internet and glad I found this site, I am in the Plymouth, Devon area!

When I receive these scam caller numbers I answer the phone with "Good morning/afternoon you are through to Special Branch how may I help you?" it's amazing how quick they put down the phone and they never call back, I wonder why?

They can get your name and address from the electoral register so don't give out any details or admit to anything over the phone..Remember they called you so you really don't know who is on the other end.

Had a call from this number,i new it was a scam.So i said computer up stairs so she stayed on the phone for 6 min.They rang again said battery low got to get charger,so she stayed on phone for 5 min.They rang again,i said cannot find charger so i said i will contact my wife on my mobile,she stayed on the phone for 7 min.They rang again for the 4 time,this time i told her it was a scam so i TOLD HER **** ***.

She is a busy lady this afternoon.  I just had the washing machine scam call.  Told her I don't do the washing!

Yep, me too... I've had approx 12 calls this week.
From MS technical dept, and they need my help to stop a virus (that was one of them), another was a hacker has got into my PC.

Fortunately, I'm pretty computer literate and know what these scammers are trying to do.

Approx 1 year ago, they started and one night I was bored so I kept this poor bloke on the phone for 58 minutes. I said that I needed to answer the door, that took about 5 minutes; then I had to go for a pee, that took another 5 minutes;  then I had to answer the phone, that too another 5-10 minutes; then I had to find my laptop charger, that took another 5 etc etc.
And saying 'pardon me' to everything they say.
After the call, I looked at my phone, and it showed call duration of 58 mins  lol

I think that maybe if I keep these guys on the phone for long enough, they're leaving someone else alone.... why don't we  all try it?   :-)   (I don't do it every time)

They had my married name from around 15 years ago, so they're working from a very old database.

Maybe if we could ask that those people that did fall for this scam, let us all know the names of the companies that are doing this, we could all write to our MPs to get it to stop.... doubtful, but worth a try, eh?

Called 4 times in 3 days, twice in 1 hour! Only answered once and phone went dead. I am in somerset area.

This number has called about 9 times this week, always when I'm out, but still sick of it. The other day my phone said i'd got 7 new calls. When I went into my phone log they were ALL from this number! NOT HAPPY!

keeps calling when i answer they hang up i want this number to stop ringing me
