- Robert CarruthersHad a call from an Indian guy called "Roger" (Yeah, Rrright) this number telling me that I "had a virus" on my line. Was a repeat of a call received a month earlier which my service provider identified as a scam. Told him that I had a Mac so his call about Windows was irrelevant and that I knew this was a scam call. Surprisingly he hung up. Wonder why....
Then a day later, someone from "Techresolve" phoned up about Windows. Told him I used a Mac.- Caller: Techresolve
- RickyJust another poor excuse for an Asian scammer, might of helped if they could speak english but I just love winding them up.
- RickyThese guys have rang twice more since my last report, second one to tell me to F*ck off and the third to offer me debt management, they are obviously of Asian origin so on the last one I ordered a take away...2 number 8's and a nan bread.
- Al| 1 replyJust had a call from this number but got the silent treatment. Their number is now saved in my home phone under the name "Tell 2 F*ck Off". I really hope they phone again :)
- Pam85 replies to AlJust received a phone call from this number & when I pushed the asian woman for more information she passed the phone to an asian man.
After telling him I didnt believe who he was he got quite aggressive & told me to shut up & listen to him. After politely replying, he then told me my brain was infected. He then told me my name & where I lived.
After asking where he got this info he again got quite aggressive & started shouting at me to shut up & listen.
He said the error messages had been showing for 2-3 weeks but after bluffing & telling him my computer was brand new he muttered something in wot i think was indian & hung up.
I also bought my computer from PC World.
Could there be a connection????
Oh I am in Airdrie, Scotland - KH| 1 replyI just got this call but the asian man wouldn't believe that i was the home owner!! im 21 ffs!! i know i have i young voice but stop asking for my parents hahaha i just started asking him questions and then he gave up and hung up
- J replies to KHMy mother had a call with someone from this number asking for me. She basically said i wasnt in, but just let me know via email. Googled the number and this was first hit.
I think i'll have to do what someone else mentioned about getting a whistle and keeping it near the phone.
was called in SE uk, My PC is self build, my mother's is Dell / Purchased online.. I have in the past purchased computer parts from PCW if that warrents a link? I use antivirus programs and work in IT.
To be safe online
1) Have antivirus software installed and upto date normally right clicking it will have a "update" button on it.
2) (Optional) I recomend running "Advanced System Care 3" on your PC (*download from cnet.com) and let it close any security holes on ur PC. you can remove it afterwards, if u want to. - (it doesnt spam for money after 100 fixes etc) - Michael M| 1 replyI have had two calls on this number missed both, who or what is it about?
- J replies to Michael MBasically its a scam, where by they inform you you have a virus on your PC which clearly you probably dont. and then they say you have a virus on ur computer and are trying to help get rid of the imagonary virus, but are infact trying to make you put a virus on your computer.
You could say "but i dont have a computer".. and they'd prob hang up. but their call is all about getting information from you. wow they can get your name from your number.. not hard.
They'll then be all nerdie for a while and basically try and get you to install a trojan on your PC. what a trojan does is basically send infomation that you enter on your pc to a computer elsewhere on the internet. eg you could see something like "www.google.com mybankwebsite.com my pin1234" Trojans can also have many other functions. To learn more about them just google sub7 trojan to name one.
Most antivirus products off the shelf, or free online, will alert you that you are trying to run a trojan. In some cases they may even tell you when you try and download them.
Maybe if the fuel prices keep rising i'll start a scam, saying "im from Camaloet" and "your've won the lottery, please supply your bank details, sort code, and that wierd 3 didget code thingie on the back and see how many full credit card details i get. lol.
Note to self, Most buy a whistle and keep it near the phone. - georginaCalls several times this week and also in the past re my computer. Asked me to turn it on and they would guide me.
We are a couple in our 70's and really do not want this type of call. - Su| 1 replyMissed a call from this number an hour ago - glad I did! I'm north of Glasgow.
- Lesley replies to SuJust had a call from asian guy telleing me my laptop was infected and when I asked him to verify who he was, he said he was a supervisor from microsoft. I asked how do I know that, you could be trying to scam me. He then got very nasty so i just laughed at him and hung up.
- nicolamarieIm from Derby and just had the persistant asian man. I told him there was a scam that sounded very similar to what he was saying and that i wasn''t turning my computer on. He said he couldn't do any harm as he wasn't actually near my computer. explained i wasn't doing anything that a stranger asked me on the phone and he said he understood. and then told me to turn my computer on. i advised him that once i did what he said my laptop would be F#cked and that thank you, but that he needed to bugger off. He was still banging on about a virus as i put the phone down.

- Paulus the GnomeMy Dad received a call from these people earlier today,he then called me as he thought they had mistaken him for me. He couldnt work out why they called him as he has not even got the internet!
I then got the call a couple of hours later, I listened for a while but had great trouble understanding what he was talking about, something to do with their equipment had picked up the fact my pc had got a virus.
I said NO to everything he asked then he went.
