i received a few calls last week and it was funny to find out who is was because i actually worked there in the past, years ago. they were pretty persistent, and called me twice on one day.

when i worked there i don't remember any cold calling campaigns though - in fact they seemed to dislike the idea of cold calling. when i was there we were mainly checking details for people who had signed up on the street.

I called the toll free number given below. This is the financial section of the company and was answered by a pleasant and polite lady. I gave my name and number and the lady has undertaken to stop the calls. If this does not happen, I will call the charity I am am member of, Amnesty International, and ask them to stop the calls.

Please do not abuse the people who answer this 1300 number, it is a call centre calling, not the financial section.

I'm in Melbourne, Australia. I seem to be getting annoying calls from this number also.

These people can just [***] offfffffffff. And I do not donate to them and because of the harassing phone calls I will never donate to them.

I keep getting these calls on my mobile and home phone....they never leave a msg...My partner has answered and they have personally asked for me and he has told them im not home and would they like to leave a msg...she always replys no and hangs up.....LEAVE ME ALONE!!! im sooooo over it!!! why wont u leave a msg??? how te hell did u get my number??

this number has called 3 times in the last 3 days but doesnt leave a message. glad i found this website.

I get calls from this number and I donate to UNHCR so I guess that's where this company got my number from. I don't answer it.

5 calls a day for the past month >.<

I just got one earlier, and when I called the number back I could no work out the organisation he was saying for the life of me, so I googled it.

Through reading this, I realised that I'd signed an online petition for WSPCA and I specifically ticked the box to NOT be contacted. To hear that some of you are being called 5 times a day is appauling, I hope I'm not in for the same fate as I can rarely answer my phone during business hours.

I have received one call a day starting mid last week, all about 1pm Central Time. I am at work at that hour, so I am unable to answer the call. At first, I did not know who was calling, so I ignored the missed calls. Oddly enough, I did not get a call yesterday, I'm not sure what states have Picnic Day as a public holiday.

Anyway, now that I know who's calling, I have no issues answering the phone as long as I'm not at work. I signed up for donation to Amnesty back when I was unemployed and living in Melbourne.

It's the Wildnerness Society, or similar. They're doing it for a good casue, so pickup the phone! They don't bite. If you ask them to remove you from their register, then legally they must.

these guys kept calling me...annoying....i keep missing the calls....

I agree with one of the very early comments here that it is a company working for organisations like Greenpeace, Amnesty etc. I donate to Amnesty and answered the call last year and got a really hard sell to increase my donation. It must be my time again as I've ignored at least one call a day from that number for the past couple of weeks. I believe in supporting Amnesty etc., but they are in danger of losing my donation by using this company to what amounts to harrassment of their donors.

after hundreds of calls during working hours and after hours over the past months, i'm about to cancel my monthly donation to WSPCA. the sound of my mobile ringing now makes me cringe! it's unfortunate we are beginning to feel this way, and i feel sorry for the volunteers.. but we have jobs, and can't be answering these calls all day, everyday.  i have a family to support, and can't be seen on my mobile whilst at work. please leave me alone to enjoy the very little time i have with my family and let me get my work done!

This is a shame - the practice of not leaving messages is just downright disengaging. It borders on stalking.  It gives me cause to wonder where my charity donations are spent.

It's Mediciens Sans Frontiers.  They have my number as they knocked in my door one day.  I know they are doing charitablw work but it's such an invasion of privacy!

I keep getting calls from 2evolve (02 89852230) just about every day, and due to work cannot answer.

They never leave a message.

When I call the number it is a Kiwi accent (can't really make out the name of the company), "sorry we missed your call. We'll call you back". With no message service to leave a message.

I looked up the website and called their Sydney number 02 81149700. The girl was pleasant enough, but fell back on the old "this is just the switchboard" routine. I asked why are you calling me? She kept on about how I must belong to a charity, and claimed my details could not be looked up on their system, and that she could not put me through to anyone who could explain why they were calling me.

Eventually I was told to call back in 20 minutes and speak with "Lucinda" - or similar sounding name, as the switchboard girl had poor English. So I will find out if Lucinda exists and report back.

I find this whole method of cold calling, and not accepting return calls, or claiming not to know who called or why very shady, if not deceitful. Why would any organisation behave in this manner, and expect to be trusted?

I guess the nature of charity funding has gotten to this point. It seems also that 2evolve are the ones who send out the gangs on the street to harass people for money. They can be downright pushy, obnoxious and even rude at times. I think charities really need to start rethinking who they are entrusting their name and reputations to.

I've never donated to any of these charities, not in a way that involves me giving them my number anyway. I too am getting several calls a day and have been for a few months...I don't have the guts to call them and tell them to stop though.

they've very likely received private phone numbers from an (online) competition form or sth similar.
Happens so often...
be careful about personal data you give away (facebook, etc. as well)!
