Yes well we all know how this works donate money to your hcarity and how much of each dollar actually goes to the cause????

Yeah thats right about 8 cents of every dollar once they have paid out on admin fees and staff wages so really your arguement is invalid.  Leave a God damn message so people know what the hell you want and stop fronting a good company cos unless you are working for free the charities do not receive much as it mostly goes on overhead costs oh phone calls to mobile phones where no messages are left!!!!

    Morons. Make me sick!!

And before you bag me out I do contribute to charities like WSPA etc!!!

    TIP OF THE DAY:

If you are getting calls from a telemarketing company, or a charity, or any company that you don't want to ever call you again, the one sure fire way to get your name taken off their list is to do the following in order:

    1) Answer the phone (if you don't they are legally allowed to call you back)
    2) Say these EXACT words: " *insert name of person calling* Take me off your list. If your company ever contacts me again I will sue you for harassment"
    3) Hang up the phone.
    4) If the same company ever calls you again, do the same as above,  and then send them an email stating the same thing, mentioning the name/s of the person/people you spoke to. Remind them that if they ever call you again, the next correspondence will be from your lawyer.

WHY WILL THIS WORK THE FIRST TIME?

    1) If you on't use that wording, and you simply shout/swear/hang up or just tell them to take you off the list but forget to tell them never to call you again, what will happen is that their supervisor will tell them to make it a call back for a couple of days from now (legally they can do that unless you specifically said not to call) OR they will simply remove your name from the que for ONLY that project, which means the next job that comes up you will be back on the "list".
    2) Legally they are not allowed to call again if you have SPECIFICALLY requested that they never contact you again. Sometimes you get bad employees though, so even if the company is legally required not to call you, the employee might try his luck one more time. That's why you need to remember the name they give you and threaten to sue them, because that will usually frighten them enough to listen to what you are saying. They don't want to lose their jobs, and the company certainly doesn't want to be sued by every tom dick and harry.

I used to be a telemarketer and now I work in recruitment...for one of the companies mentioned here. Just remember guys, that the people you are talking to on the phone are at the lowest rung of the ladder. they don't have any say in what goes on really, and most of them are just trying to get by - so be polite, but also be VERY clear and stern about what you want.

PS. It's illegal for any telemarketing or charity company (in Australia at least) to leave messages on your answering machine. If they do, you can take them to court - which is why they don't do that...

Another former employee of 2evolve replies to former 2evolve
I used to work for 2evolve a few years ago.

It seems nothing has changed – and I am so glad I finally left – though I was made to leave since the MD bullied me into it. The owner of the company is a complete b**ch and appears to have mental problems. She fires people on a whim (or makes their life so difficult they resign or feel like they have no choice but to leave) and plays favourites. And don’t think anyone is safe -- one day she could think you’re the best employee ever, the next day she hates you for some unknown reason and will make your life hell.

The Senior Management team are just as bad because they follow her lead and appear to have no sympathy for those being harassed/bullied. When I was there turnover was quite high. I worked in the admin side and turnover was atrociously high; it was probably higher in the call centre and field teams due to pressure of having to meet sales targets.

By the way, anyone saying they don’t earn commissions through the call centre are liars. 2evolve have a definite commissions/bonus scheme, if it’s not benefiting the actual callers, it definitely is going to their team leaders and department managers. My advice: DO NOT donate through this organisation.

They do not deserve to earn money or be successful because they treat their employees like cattle.

2evolve represent some worthy charities, that’s true, but please please please if you want to donate to those charities – go directly to them.

Lastly, if you don’t want to be called, all you need to do is speak to someone at 2evolve and ask to be put on the ‘Do Not Call’ list.

I worked for 2evolve a few years back and lasted only 2 weeks. The company is absolutely horrible and those that say otherwise are those that are "higher" up in the company and gain a higher wage and tell the rest of the little people how to NOT have a moral compass. I was asked to walk out and leave because my last call was being monitored and apparently i made the lady i was talking to sign up for more charitable donations without her fully knowing the consequences. But let me tell you i did nothing but stick to the stupid script they placed in front of me and all my previous calls i was just telling customers thanks for their service and not pushing anything on them because it didn't feel right. Calling them in the middle of dinner and making them ask their partners for the ok, does that sound right to you? Overall i told them to take a hike when they pushed my aside. I voiced my opinion that they were all money hungry sharks and that working in this place was the worse job i'd ever had. They gave me the option to stay after all that, probably so i wouldn't ruffle some feathers but i demanded my bags and left. 2evolve should be shut down. It's a bunch of uni students, foreigners and dumb people that can't get real jobs. The uni students don't last long because most realise that it is completely unethical. If you are receiving calls from that number answer and demand to talk to whose in charge, get names and report them to your charity. They use home numbers to get you when you're least expecting it.

    Former team leader for 2evolve

Hi, I have recently finished working for 2evolve. People out there here is the full truth. 2 evolve hire young people fresh out of school or nieve people (yes I was in the nieve category) or backpackers. Predominantly backpackers who have no idea about Australian working laws.  In the time I was there they went through 48 people in Brisbane alone, I WAS ONLY THERE 8 WEEKS...criminal staff turnover numbers that alone should raise eyebrows.

Yes they are attempting to raise money for there charities BUT do it unethically and NOT the way the charities would condone.  My advice is to GO DIRECTLY TO THESE CHARITIES THEMSELVES AND OFFER SUPPORT. Amnesty, child fund and make a wish are all charities who have 2 evolve collect or have petitions signed for them..My faith with the company faltered when we had to get petitions signed as well a a verification sheet(it's really a sheet to get your details) and we got told by the area manager that only those who filled out details could sign the petition...anyone who was unemployed, to old or under 18 and couldn't donate should t be signing a petition...this in its self is wrong..
They ask all staff for 30 sign ups a day for amnesty with 50% double  contact numbers and 80% emails...of u so much as get 27 for the day you are verbally raped and degenerated..then fired if they don't like the reasons u give them for not hitting target..they pay there staff well and have bonuses but these bonuses either don't get to the staff member unless you hound them but the majority are sacked with no idea that they still are owed  bonuses. The company scams it's workers and the charities they represent. Finally though I may have been naive but I was way older then anyone working on the street and saw it for the scam it is..and I am Proud that I was one of the Decent Team Leaders that supported my team, and will continue to support them as I take this company, with the support and verbal backup or all those I mentored there to the DEPAREMT OF FAIR TRADE and THE FAIR TRADE OMBUDSMEM..

Krystal Clear replies to Just Curious
In relation to your question. When i was asked to be spoken too it was between call time so everyone else was on the phones.  I got up and got lead into a room where the attempted firing began. Because i spoke out they said for me to forget about what they had said and that i could stay. I said no thank you. But because they had asked me to meet in a room (not indicating why) i obviously didn't grab my bags. Because i refused to keep my job they would not let me back on the call floor to retrieve my belongings (probably to not risk me talking to any of my colleagues). Finally, one of the "bosses" went and grabbed my bags. The following day i realised i had little things missing out of my bag, makeup and notepads and pens. I hope this clarifies the demanding of the bags.

Well, when you gotta work full time, you gotta work full time. Many people need that constant flow of income to avoid bankruptcy. Having said that working for a fundraising agency should be absolute last resort other than companies that offer 100% commission based pay.

I had an interview for a telemarketing position at 2evolve and for every 15 people interviewed they will only hire 3-4. You are asked to turn your phone off as you enter their office and keep it off until you leave the premises completely and when I needed to go to the loo, a receptionist escorted me there and stood outside the doors. There are surveillance cameras everywhere, including the toilets where they are definitely in abundance.

Their Sydney office is a plus 5-star office premise located in some newish skyscrapers in Surry Hills across the road from Central station. They must be using a lot of money from those charity givers on the street.

I have worked for a similar fundraising company that recently folded due to not meeting targets for signups to their charities. Its the charity donations that keep these agencies viable and able to pay their fundraisers, hence the unethicalness and the pressure to meet targets.

I worked at 2evolve for a few weeks. It was the most vile place I've ever seen. Anyone who had any moral compass was immediately accused of "badmouthing the company". We had a session on "ethical fundraising"- and then the most senior team leader (a korean psychopath of the most extreme order) told us to ask people "if they knew anyone who'd ever had cancer". He broke every ethical rule there! I had four women cry on the phone. When I sai, "I can't ask people that", he verbally abused me in front of the entire team. This same "team leader" hit on every woman- and bullied an eighteen year old in her first job and made her cry. And they told me this was the most senior guy in the room! tHEN they dragged me into a little room and told me they were sacking me, "and don't you ever badmouth the company once you're gone, we have your home address!"!!!! When I applied for centrelink they said, "2evolve said they didn't fire you, you left." They tried to call 2evolve many times- the guy they needed to speak to was always "on break." And don't even get me started on the sleaze with the beard. Avoid this hellhole at all costs. The Way they treat staff- and supporters on the phone- is disgusting.

Guys who have worked at 2Evolve? How does the pay structure work? As in, if the turnover is so high, are they contractors or employees? Thus, is super-being paid? Are they meeting minimum wage? Workers comp? Minimum hours? Can someone please enlighten me?

You're paid well above minimum wage as an hourly, 'casual' basis. The more you can work, the better. The turnover is so high because there is a very target drive environment and you are made aware of this from the moment you walk through the doors.

I left 2evolve very recently because it is [***] horrible. They try to make all the callers feel like they are doing awesome work but in reality they just [***] close to every supporter they call. I felt bad calling people who were giving $300 a month to a charity and (because of the 50% percent ask which all the callers have to do) having to ask if the supporter could increase by $150 a month. If the person replies no its 50% percent again, so then you are asking for a $75 increase. When I started asking for less (e.g someone giving $40 a month, and asking them for a $10 increase), i was immediately told i was falling behind on my average $ value and that it was a first and final warning.
And yes, all of the team leaders get bonuses for having their team hit targets. but the callers are the ones hitting the targets anyway and get absolutely nothing. This just leads to the team leaders really wanting their bonuses and pushing way too hard for callers to ask for ridiculous amounts of money of supporters. All of the callers are genuine people and most can't last longer than a month or 2 because they realise how shocking it really is. The only ones that stick with it are backpackers looking for any work they can get offering sponsorships to stay in the country.
A person working in the call room is required to hit targets depending on what charity they are calling for. Out of the people that pick up the phone and say they are happy to take the call, I would have to get 40% to say yes to an increased donation.
They push every employee to go only for monthly increases and if a supporter wants to make a one-off donation we would have to push and push for them to increase monthly instead because a one-off donation counts as a 'negative' in our stats, meaning we could get fired. This was one of the most infuriating things because some supporters would only have money at that point in time and it just meant that supporters ended up getting pissed off and not donating at all when they were happy to in the first place. The lady that runs the call centre is a bitchy money hungry eastern suburbs princess with the most vile mouth i've ever heard on someone in boots that expensive.

IF YOU ARE RECEIVING CALLS FROM 2EVOLVE. BE GENUINELY POLITE AND TELL THEM THAT YOU ARE TOO BUSY TO BE CALLED AND TELL THEM TO PRESS THE BLACK "DO NOT CALL" BUTTON ON THEIR SCREEN. (There is another "no phone calls" button that does nothing that management tells us to press because they want to get as much money as they can by continuously phoning.)
