I'm just amazed so called employees of this company believe they are legitimate and will say so in print on this site.

Any company or employee who contacts the general public by calling many times a day, silent or otherwise must know they are out to harass the people whatever the product they are selling.

Why don't they have a conscience or it their intellect so low they don't know what it means?

I personally would urge anyone that has had or ever had a loan to contact the bank themselves, part of these companies selling point is to make out its difficult to do yourself or the banks will just offer a small amount of compensation but if you take a little time to work out how much ppi you paid its fairly easy just takes a bit of time writing letters back and forth. 30% fee is high and it was even on the news recently not to use these companies.  They are pushy and try to get you to get your details while they have you on the phone, this is because once you commit and sign the paperwork they send you, if you then decide not to go ahead with their service they charge you its in the small print and they would never tell you this part.

This is a telephone call centre monkey with no experience of the real world and what a company registration number is, or the legal system. The "CRM 1870" is his terminal ID on his telephone. "CRM" means "Customer Relations Management" (through databases & Microsoft systems) "1870" is his Telephone Extension Number.

EMCAS is yet another company established by British Gas. Having worked for the core Company I follow some of the previous employees of other group members and their interactions. They are career BG Employees who are transferred for their ruthless nature and blind ambition to create personal success at expense of all others.

For more details, their website gives the following;-

[[ EMCAS' is a trading name of EMC Advisory Services Limited. Registered Office: EMC House, 38-40 Palace Avenue, Paignton, TQ3 3HE. Registered in England and Wales; Company Registration No: 4859586 The EMCAS device is a Registered Trade Mark of EMC Advisory Services Limited. EMC Advisory Services Limited is regulated by the Ministry of Justice in respect of regulated claims management activities. Authorisation Number: CRM1768. Registration is recorded here. EMC Advisory Services Limited are registered with the Information Commissioner under the Data Protection Act 1998. Registration number Z8192370.  ]]

Over the last week I have received several call from this number. Most I wasn't in a position to answer but the one that I did I told the operator that I was aware I had been sold PPI for a credit card for which the account was now closed. Yesterday morning I spoke to a female operator and advised hher that I did not wish to speak to them and ended the call. Later in the day they attempted to contact me again. At 1335hrs today I receiived a call from 'Mary' at EMC. stating that "according to our records" I had been sold a PPI. Before she could continue I advised her about the earlier calls and that I was not interested in talking to them and terminated the call.  From reading the entries on this and other sites this company are an absolute pest and must be stopped.

It's unfortunate that people have been recieving frequent silent calls from this number. Unfortunately, one of the problems with automated dialling systems is that if an agent is not free to take the call once it has connected then the call will be dropped. EMCAS do not have extortionately large call centres like some companies and agents do their best to take their time with potential customers and explain things fully, which means that frequently, nobody is available to take the call. Due to how the operating system works (and by no means the fault of EMCAS), these calls are put back through the system shortly afterwards, rather than after a 'cool off' period, something which is being worked on because, understandably, being called frequently and nobody being on the line is not ideal for anybody.

On the other hand, it's horrendously unfair to label EMCAS as a 'scam' or 'cowboys' based on this fact. People claiming that the link to the Ministry of Justice website is fake are misguided because it is legitimate and proves that EMCAS are a legitimate service, simply trying to offer a service for people.

I personally know 5 separate households who have been able to claim their Payment Protection Insurance back through EMCAS, all of whom were happy with the service, the quality of how they were treated, and, most importantly, the money they recieved. For one man I know, EMCAS were able to get him back nearly £2500 more than he was offered in a 'courtesy' letter from Barclays, which just stands as an example of how a claims management company like EMCAS can do a job more effectively than people who attempt a DIY approach.

EMCAS are regulated by the Ministry of Justice, have more than 8 years experience and have won back over £290 million for customers. Clearly, they're doing something right and are not the 'cowboys' you're all so eager to label them as. They also operate on a No Win, No Fee basis and there are no hidden costs whatsoever, and no upfront money!

As a side note, they got your number, address and name from a survey or questionnaire which YOU carried out. You may just assume that you have never filled out a questionnaire and thus labelled this untrue, but the data collection used by the company goes back as far as 60 days, and 3 months is a long time, many people accidentally forget the brief survey they filled out in the aeroplane on the way back from holiday, or on the street to shut up that young girl who approached them asking for a few moments of their time, or while applying for financial information. It could also have been online, by telephone, possibly even in your bank branch. So have a think about anywhere you may have answered the survey in the last 3 months. Also perhaps consider what you believe EMCAS would gain from just randomly calling people with no loans, credit cards or PPI: they focus on a targeted audience in order to reserve costs and also because they are trying to prove their name as a fair, honest, legitimate company in a market stained by Claims Management Companies who actually are scammers and cowboys!

You obviouslydidn't see "My Worst Deal" on BBC1 the other week when Money Expert  recommended  that people did not use cold calling PPI Companies.  They quoted £800 fees on a £2500 refund and up to 39% deducted from other refunds. Quite a lot when you  can do it easily and for free if you follow the "Which" information.  In addition Action Fraud advice is not to pay up-front fees for any sort of financial transaction.  As for your remark regarding automatic diallers, perhaps people would not get so annoyed if they were not used.  Simples.

Got a call from this number yesterday and just a few minutes ago, at more or less the same time over a two-day period.

I didn't let them get far enough through the speech before I hung up in disgust.

Hi, hope this helps people. The company that call from this number 02890324055 is a company called Mpath and they are PPI cliams company that get your details from a company called Fruit (a survey/qurstionnaire). Therefore at somepoint you may have fill out a survey and these people sell your details on to whoever it maybe (in this case Mpath.

I strongly recommend that you dont use these PPI companies, as they are a rip off.  If you really feel that you have claim regarding PPI, you can create yourself a simple letter address to your bank. Look up PPI claims on the moneyexpert.co.uk site and they have letter templates covering most incidents of missold PPI.  I use this site + template for free, obviously changing the details and situation to suit my requirement and won my case.
