I agree TPS are about as much use as a chocolate teapot, but at least if you are registered with them you can take the next step which is reporting calls to the Information Commissioner's Office.  Unlike TPS they have teeth and can fine the UK pests.  So far they have issued fines of £225,000 and £440,000.  I have a BT6500 'phone which blocks International, Withheld and Unavailable number calls as well as 10 individual numbers. The 'phone does not ring and they cannot leave a message. Although 10 does not seem a lot they tend to stop calling when all they get is the message "Your call is not accepted", and you can replace them with another number.  I got the 'phone in March and, like you, I now only get calls which I want.  Unfortunately, my only dealings with CPR were when they conned an elderly friend into taking an annual fee as well as paying for the unit.  She did not know they had signed her up for this until money was taken from her account and when she checked they told her that is what it was for.  As it was five months before any annual fee was due, it was a double nasty trick.  I am sure the unit works ok but it was the tactics which put me off.

I complained about this lot and got a reply from a gent at the MOJ who is now investigating this company. I want everyone else to do the same and help take these utter s**ts down!

For some reason the reply came from staffordshire council but they assured me that they are the Ministry of Justice and a Senior Claims Management Regulation officer was reviewing the company.

Received 'hung up' call from this lot today at 11.05. I am with a call blocker company because of persistent south east asian calls (5 or 6 a day) so am hoping the call blockers will deal with this. Since I have been with call blockers all other calls have stopped.
By the way I had to re-register because my phone number was given out by Argos on line (I think) when I bought a chair. Have complained to Argos about there being no opt-out on their website but received no reply (1 month ago)

I'm getting a silent call from this number at about 7pm every night since 2nd October.
They are breaking alsorts of FSA regulations with this call

Get a call every night after 6 pm. Either hang up, but never leave a message. V annoying and always at meal times

Don't fill in lifestyle surveys simple.  They don't just cold call you they obtain the information via sponsoring data gathering companies.  Unless you have looked into PPI there i no way you can say that you know you have never been mis-sold ppi.  Unless you are an exception to the millions of people in the UK who are due back money from the 18 billion put aside by providers including all major high street banks.

Unanswered call today, and not the first time. Fed-up with up to 4 telemarketing calls daily from a variety of 'vendors' - how do they get round TPS? On the occasions I do answer calls, it is either a hung call, a 'pushy' caller or a caller who not only has a poor command of the Queens English but is unable to pronounce my name correctly. Rant over!!!!!

It's EMCAS, a PPI reclamation service. They are a bit scattergun in their prospecting but if you have had PPI and want to claim, they do the job. We appointed them two years ago to look after PPI repayments for my wife's bank loans, taken out before we were married. They did a superb job - can't speak for how good they are now though. I thought it was SERPS was the next big moneymaker for these people so fishing for PPI business does smack of desperation

i got phoned up so often i never had one days peace in three months..it went on and on untill i finally cracked and gave in..I wish i hadn,t as they got me money from Barclays bank but then took half it back for themselves..Found out later i could have easily claimed the money back myself and kept it all instead!!

How can I block all the nuisance calls I recieve. I have paid twice now to the NCR and still getting the calls.

This company has been fined £70,000 by the ICO for making illegal cold calls to TPS registered numbers.  If your number is TPS registered, you simply must report any offence committed by the company to the ICO.  It takes less than 5 minutes, and it is the only way the authorities can be made aware in a way they are in a position to do something.
