Was phoned today at 10am. Caller knew my name and was trying to talk to me about credit cards, but the quality of line was awful. I asked the caller to call me back (not knowing who it was), but he insisted on continuing, even though I told him he was breaking up. I asked him again to call me back, as I could not hear him properly. He then hung up.

As he hasn't called since, I did a 1471, to see if it was someone I do business with, that needed calling back. That is when I found this page!

was called today by a asian man at 2.13pm the number was 034009054 as i have caller display and i didnt reconize the number i didnt any anything and let them talk first but he was asking for me by my surname i still didnt respond n he muttered someting i couldnt make out then he hung up!!!! im sure ive been called from this person before from a different number saying he was doing a survey and asked if i had sky which i replied with yes then he hung up!!!! alarm bells ringing how do they get your number if you are ex-directry

Just had 3 calls within 5 minutes from this number wanting my bank details for some scam or other I am sick and tired of these people keep ringing me.

This number called today, i was curious and the guy said someone from my address had reported a faulty computer....Just put the phone down, the number was034009054. scammers

called this afternoon, and put the phone down immediately when I answered.

He rang saying he had some information on my debts and saying he could help me with them.
I asked what his company was and he said consumer detbline.
They do not exist. Tried to call them back as I got angry that he rang me.

just had a call from this number and wanted to check it out. it was an asian women with very bad english. The phonecall was very bad and couldnt hear here at the start. she said my computer was sending out bad viruses and asked me to go on the pc. When i asked why she said, just go on the pc! i imagine they were trying to get my details. The same thing happened to my friend last week which is why i knew it was a scam, otherwise i dread to think what kind of info i would have gave these people.

I got a call from someone (Rabi ?) saying they were a debt consolidation service and wanting to do something about the various credit cards that someone named Mrs Dunn (not me) had at my address.  I know the previous owners and that is not their name either.

Had a third silent call from this number today, called at 10.35am, 10.40am last Wednesday and 5.20pm today, I said 'hello' then went quiet and I could hear someone on the other end quietly breathing. What I would want to know is why can't B.T. block these callers? There should be a central body that members of the public could report nuisance callers to and try to stop these telephone scammers. I have tried the talktalk blocker which they said was 'free' but charged me for the service.

Just been called by a woman from this number who said that she was from Nationwide Bank then asked me several private questions to confirm my details.....
before then asking me if I had SKY....

Im just out of hospital and this number has called and woken me up 3 times in 2 days.  No sound on the other end they just hang up.  
Retrieved their number on 1471 each time.
Really annoying especially as Im exdirectory to stop this crap happening!

I was called by 034009054 and an asian women read out my name and asked me to confirm. i did because yesterday i spoke with my credit card company to cancel a DD and they were asian so i presume dit them. They then asked me my PC useage and the potential for viruses. i said i dont have a pc and they hung up! how can i report these people?

just received a call from an Asian gentlemman pertaining to be British  a short while ago  Asked if my Sky was working alreight.   I said it was then he said '' you have a package with Sky'' Obviously as a Sky rep. he would know if i did or not.  Was not in the mood to talk as I was in the middle of baking so just said i could not hear him.  If they come up again I will def. take him for a ride

Just received a call from an Asian gentleman he asked if my name was correct then said that a bank I was with owed me money from incorrect bank charges around £700. He did not state which bank and continued to ask me to confirm my address and asked for my date of birth. Already skeptical at this point I refused to supply the information and asked him to provide me with more details of what the call was about. At this point he asked me if he should terminate the call and my claim. I hung up did a 1471 got the number 03400905 and found this website looks like its been a busy number!

So these idiots are still at it....

The number originates from VOIP (Internet Telephone... ie. skype ect...)

It is the same people who also use phone number 08885555299...

I have reported it to my land-line provider, who has now gotten back to me these two number CAN NOT be BLOCKED from EXCHANGE end as they originate from an ISP they are UNTRACEABLE and CAN ONLY be BLOCKED by using a service such as "CHOOSE TO REFUSE" or by purchasing an expensive CALL BLOCKER for your home.

With all the services you can from your telephone provider along with the TPS, is not stopping these calls getting through.... Sound to me as if these telesales/scam/surveys are turning more to VOIP as there is nothing BT, Virgin, Orange, Talk Talk, or any other Phone Company can do about them...

I keep recieving phone calls from: 034009054. When i pick up the phone it is silen so I just hang up. Sometimes it is numerous times in one day e.g. On 19/07/10 I got 3 calls from this number, first at 17:30 then 19:45 and finally 21:00.

Frequent calls this last week from this number. Fortunately we were out when they called.

I have read the comments and called my local trading standards now called Consumer Direct on 08454040506.

If anyone is interested they also gave me the Telephone Preference Number  02072913320 to stop other nuisance calls.

I have three calls from this number today 20th July 2010 at 19;04, 19:56 and  20:22.  I have not answered any of them and then goggled this number which led me here.  No messages were left but then scammers are not likely to leave you a message.  Are they.

I keep getting calls from this number asking for someone who does not live here.  I have told them on several occasions to take this number off their list.  When I repeated this, the man (Asian) asked me my name and I told him that my name was irrelevant as I'm not the person he's asking for.  He was very insistent I gave him my name but I can be a stubbourn cow and refused to give it to him, then he hung up on me!  Shame!!!

Received a call from this number on July 21st 2010. "World Lotto Corporation" (yeah right)! 1-6 chance of winning big prizes! me and friend just humoured them taking it in turns to listen and just say yes when appropriate which wasn't often as they just kept ON AND ON!!!! As we was on the phone i had typed the name of this so called "corporation" in to the computer and thanks to goood old google it was confirmed. SCAM SCAM! Shocking NOT! Although we had already known i took great pleasure in relaying what was on my screen to the woman on the phone. Layed into her a bit but nothing they don't deserve. I just worry about little old dears who are vunerable to these [***]. Then i had a laugh at her while she tried to convince me their company had been running for 14yrs. Yeah! with plenty of other scams from sky, computer, charities for gods sake these people are proper d***s!!!!!!!
