My phone has rang several times in the past few day but appeared to be hung up when I answered. 1471 gave the number 034009054. When I tried a reverse search I found this site explaining that this was a scam.  I was called tonight by an Asian guy named John who said he was calling on behalf of my broadband service provider and as I was aware of the scam, asked him to give me the name, address and telephone number of the company he worked for. He supplied a company name, building name and telephone number but said he wasnt authorised to to give out  the street name or the post code. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told that was not possile either, and that he had worked at the company for over three years and had never had a supervisor to take over a call before.

just had 2 phone calls from them but nobody spoke them dialled 1471 got there number and tried to phone them back number doesn`t exist off to talk talk to get them to block there number

Keep getting calls from 034009054, there's noone there, tryed to call back, and was told can not identify  number!!!!

I have had sevral calls from this number asking to speak to different people when i say they dont live here the phone just gets slammed down. I am in Ayrshire Scotland

Had a call from this number. It was an Asian gentleman saying there was a fault in our area with internet security through our TALK TALK isp,, asked us to turn on computer so that he could sort it. Son told him he was an IT technician, we had no problems and if we did he would sort it out.

Just be phoned by asian sounding woman calling herself rachal

asking about gas and electric supplyers, when I asked her something she was rude

and told me someone would be calling round top sort me out.

Got a phone call from this number today saying something about the tax on my property, couldn't understand half of what was being said but smelled a rat and hung up.

An Asian woman called from 034009054 and asked to speak to Mrs Jones. (That's not our name). I told her her the next time she calls we will report the number to BT, then promptly hung up. That's about six times they have called in the last month. I might be tempted to say YES to every question they ask, it normally gives them the "hump".

I was called today by an asian soundingguy who claimed to be from Windows Support Group and that they had received a message from our computer to say that it had some malicious files that would cause it to crash.  At first I kind of believed him and he asked me to press 'start' then 'run' thaen type in 'prefetch malware' and click OK.  He said that if I did this there would be a list of malicious files and he would remove them from me.  I began to realise this was a scam and refused to do it and hung up.  I called Microsoft and they confirmed that they would never make a call like that.  Who is this guy??

I do not answer the phone to any number I do not reconise

I've had two calls saying they were calling from Sky and were going to send me a new viewing card as mine was one of the old ones, now I knew this was rubbish as we got one of the new cards only a few months ago when we got our sky+box, he asked me for account details and when I refused, he hung up, for about 15mins I was unable to get a dialling tone so when I was able to use the phone again I dialled 1471 but the no. was withheld,  I called Sky and they checked that there had been no phone calls from them and also that my viewing card was fine, I've now just had another call from 'James' at Sky, again saying that I should have received my new viewing card in the last week when I said no I hadn't, he asked me to confirm my postcode so that they could send me a new one, I told him that I had checked with Sky and we do not need a new viewing card and refused to give him any information. I asked him for his phone number so I could call him back, he gave me the Sky sales no, but when I dialled 1471 it came up with 034009054 I tried to phone it but it came up as no. not recognised! I've just called the police (on Sky's advice) but they can only advise you not to give any personal info to anyone over the phone which I would never do anyway. Is there anyway of finding out where this number is coming from, I suspect it's from abroad going by the guy's accent and also because if a call is from outside the UK 1471 doesn't record the country code so that's why it doesn't recognise the no. I know because when I tried to call a friend once in France using 1471 it didn't recognise the number.  Would your telephone provider be able to trace it?

checked on website . nuisance calls reported from man or woman with ASIAN accent requesting
all kinds of information  obviously a scam should be found and jailed. very worrying  for nervous
& unwary pensioners

Got a call from 03400954. Told me he worked on behalf of BT and asked me to confirm my husband's name was Mr ******* i said yes thats correct.  He then quoted our phone number and asked me to confirm it. I then said if you have rung me on this number why are you asking? He then cut me off.
Im not sure but when i answered the phone it took a while to connect and the person who spoke sounded like he was from a far flung call centre in a far away land! Have had these call day in day out for months now. I dont usually answer but was caught off guard on this occassion.

Caller from 034009054 has rung 3 - 4 times a week for the last few months asking if I have a BT line. I have refused to tell him and hang up but he insists on calling. Asian guy or sometimes woman with a heavy accent but always and Anglo name like 'John' or 'Paul'. I can't quite make out where he says he is calling from - it sounds like UK Prize Drop and he always says he is doing a survey.

I am starting to think that he has a strange perverse nature as I have not only berrated him for insisting on using my Christian name, but have told him I will call the police if he rings again after I kick his ass. He says he is going to call again tomorrow. I need to buy a really loud whistle today.

I just had a call from asian gentleman about my "unsecured" loans...told him I dont have any - he says you have a mortgage, I said no I dont...he then says I have a mortgage on a property in Woodham Lane...no I dont, Ive never lived there, oh I must have the wrong info about you then...yes you have..he ended call. I had a similar call a couple of weeks but I ended it before it got very far...very worrying!

guy rings up and says that my computer will have a virus within 1 minute unless i spoke with him....told him i didnt have a computer LOL! he said BOO and hang up!

something needs to be done...what they dont understand is that what comes round..goes round...they'l have their day!!!!!!

i have just had a call from this number he knew my name asking if my sky box was ok and when he said is your name sarah i said no its debbie he said this was a curtisy call and hung up rather quickly.......
