Have been receiving calls from this number for the last couple of days. I refuse to answer it as it seems like it may just be a telemarketer. Why don't these people just get a life and leave us alone!!!

Optus, automated message telling me my bill is due.

Company's know we work so why do they have to call when at work

i got a call at 6.30 one night i couldn't get the bloke off the phone i told him i was part of senior management of optus telecommunications Australia he soon shut up and apologised i asked him for his employee number and he hung up!!

I've had several calls from this number, I let it go to voicemail without any messages left. The one time I picked up the caller hung up.

numerous missed calls from this melbourne number and no vmail left. not calling them back now that i know its optus marketing. I hate this and cant wait to get out of this provider

I've received this phone call for 3 days so far, haven't had a chance to pick it up. And it seems like I'd better not answer the call.

Anyone notice the optus add below these forums? How is that for stalking!!

Just got a call from this number then.. They didnt let it ring long, call was ended as before I even picked it up and the phone was sitting right in front of me..

This no# kept calling then hanging up once I had answered, more then once a day. some times late at night, but mainly around 6pm (dinner time). Then less then a month ago I aswered yelling, asking them what they wan't! an indian telemarketer asked for me by name, I said "no this isn't her and if yous keep calling me I will report yous!" I havn't heard from them so far.I am an optus prepaid customer, and so are my family and friends, they too experience the same nonsense. something has to be done, it's wrong that they think they can harass people and get away with it.

I'd been getting calls from this number too.  Lodged a complaint through the Optus website, and they replied in 24 hours apologising and they have promised to remove my name from the list.

Yep telemarketers calling my mum's number and apparently asked for me?? No idea but called the number back and the operator recorded voice said they are Oceana (called on behalf of Optus) etc.

They've been calling me once a day for weeks; I just answered it and put it on mute and it was a real person with a slightly Indian accent who kept asking for me for almost a minute.  Hello?  Hello?  Hello? Hello? etc.  I don't want to buy anything, they ring and don't leave a message so they can get stuffed!

They called my mobile phone a few times, I just blocked their number.

What they are doing is a mass breach of the Communications Act.

I'd suggest a class-action, but only after the following:

- ring Optus and demand you be taken off their call-out lists and any associated 3rd party dial-outs
- contact OCIS at Box Hill (Melbourne) demanding answers for their harassment & breach of Commonwealth Laws and also insist they do not call you again

If the harassing phone calls continue, then a gentle reminder to Optus about their breaches of the Trade Practices Act & Comms Act which recently resulted in many multi-million dollar fines may just scare the living suitcase out of them.  Don't forget to drop in the fact that you will leave Optus as their credibility has now gone!
