When I told them I already had what I wanted I think he swore and hung up!

Slightly different, caller says 'Hello, is that Mrs X (my mum's name)' I say 'Sorry, she's not here at the moment, can I take a message?' Caller hangs up.

Caller asked if Mrs Street was in (my mums name). I told her she was working until late tonight and she said is it okay to call back saturday? what a random day, no doubt I'll get 10 more calls this week now.

I got a call from 07964 212853 The caller  said  he was from the Energy Care Dept. and was working with the Government. I asked what company the Energy Care Dept was a department of and he hung up

The Energy Care Department called me from 07964 752853 claiming to be a government dept. The lady handed me to her manager when I asked which Government Dept. The manager got stroppy and said he was Mr. Bond from MI5. Eventually he said he name was Jacob and he was calling from Middlesborough. When I pressed for his full adress he hung up

Greetings chaps I'm here with some answers for you. I was recently filtered through a totally [***] call-center called 'The Green Energy Company' as an employee, I left promptly due to their utterly reprehensible business practices.

As part of 'The Green Energy Company's' script we were told to identify ourselves as 'The Energy Care Department' working 'alongside' the government. If anybody questioned us on that we were to tell them we were backed by the government to deliver free information about renewable energy schemes that the government has in place.

The company is based out of an office in Brentwood, Essex though I think they might have more locations dotted about.

The goal of this company, make no mistake at all, is to get a sales rep into your home and sell you solar panels. They target people between the ages of 50 and 80.

I can't confirm if this is the number you are receiving these calls from belongs to the company I worked for but it certainly sounds like their MO, hope this has helped someone out.

Sounded more like Manchester / Cheshire & Midlands lads than Essex boys to me.
Got their number and address from a job ad somewhere...

This company is now calling from another number 07538909404, same company as I asked if that was the energy care department based in brentwood essex.  He said yes.

Had four calls from them now, they don't like, "No."

Today they called using 07854087266 and selling an "air to air" system 'cos they know we have solar installed.

This is likely to be a hard nut to crack as they are using mobile phones.

Presumably when too many of their calls are blocked or reported, they simply insert a new SIM card and carry on regardless.

I had a call today from a different number to any of the ones reported here - 07964215325. Only one other person has made a report on that number so far. Not quite sure where to go on this one!

Same story "Energy Care Department"...this time from 07964 212843 which is only a few numbers away from a previous mobile number.   When I asked if she was a civil servant he said yes she was.  I'm not sure she understood what I meant.

I said I would look at the website first and then she could call me back.   I did look...and found all this.  Thanks guys.......saved me an uneccesary conversation.

Earlier today I received a call from 'Edward,' (He would not give his surname.)
I dialled 1471 after he rang off and discovered his phone number to be 07891943967
Edward  told me that this was not a sales call and that he worked for the Energy Care Department.
I asked what department that was and where it was based. He replied they were in Brentwood Essex, but he did not know the exact name of his employer or their precise address.
When I asked to speak to his boss he stated that he was not there at present.
He said he was not paid commission but merely worked part time to get his 'weekend beer tokens!'
Throughout the call Edward seemed to have difficulty in understanding my questions to the point that I asked if he had hearing problems.
When I pressed Edward for more information, he rang off.

Do these lying rogues never learn?

There are two companies I know who do this. Enviro, and The Green Energy company. Their aim is to get a rep into your house and sell you a product which they price up depending on how much of a "punter" you are. Don't be fooled they don't work for the government.every time they call me I rip their scripts to pieces.

Their aim during the script is also to get you saying "Yes" atleast 3 times and they want you agreeing with them, when they ask how you are or comment on the weather they are playing you without you realising. To them all you are is another name on a list which they could earn money from.
