That’s the promise from numerous supposedly green firms selling everything from solar panels to energy efficient boilers.
Sadly, as my postbag shows, the reality is households left out of pocket and seeing red.
Green Grief 1
The website of Tivium Limited asks the tempting question: "Do you qualify for a Government-funded A-rated boiler?"
Thomas Rogers of Blackpool took up their offer, thinking he was getting a new subsidised boiler worth £2,500 for £199 under the official ECO scheme for energy efficiency improvements.
"The Government ECO scheme is brand new and the funding process is complicated and can sometimes take a while," Tivium warned him.
That proved all too true.
"I paid Tivium on 19 September and so far I haven't got anything," said Thomas.
"I have phoned them on several occasions and they promise to phone back but never do."
Margaret Kirtley of South Shields, Tyne & Wear, has a similar story, paying £199 in September for an elusive boiler from "this shocking company".
Tivium has a registered office in London but the sole director, 23-year-old Jonathan Matthews, lives in Newcastle.
He hasn't replied to my questions.
Green Grief 2
Even to someone like me who's no expert, I can see that solar panels ought to face the sun.
But six of the ones installed on Jan Skyes's home face north, and the installers created other costly problems including damaging the roof.
"The contract with Eurosolar Europe was for £6,500 plus £300 for repointing the roof," said Jan, of Runcorn, Cheshire.
Daily mirror report
A cold caller from The Green Energy Company persuaded Roger and Rosemary Burrow to have solar panels installed.
Rosemary agreed to pay a £1,000 deposit on her debit card, but two days later the couple had second thoughts and cancelled.
"Then my wife discovered that £1,000 had been taken from her account," said Roger, of Gravesend, Kent.
"We rang the company and they confirmed that the order had been cancelled and her money would be back into her her account in five to ten days.
"This has never happened and after many phone calls and being fobbed off no money has been returned."
The Brentwood, Essex, firm run by 34-year-old Robert Jackson did not reply to the Mirror. Neither bradley chapman or Robert Jackson made comment. - More replies to Daily Mirror| 1 reply
