Just got the same call !  Feel really stupid as I answered their questions re windows.  Does anyone know the purpose of these calls ?

This time it was a call from someone who knew my name. He had a Scottish accent and said the company was called Awareness Scotland. I asked him for his company phone number and he was just about to say something when the call was terminated. 1471 showed that callers number was withheld. Looks like they are changing tack.

Just to make other's aware that this company is continuing it's tactics into 2016.
I received a call this morning from Awareness Scotland.  A pleasant chap said he wanted to make me aware of 'additional funding' that's available for replacing boilers more than 10 years old.  He asked some basic questions, how old is your boiler?, are you the homeowner?, are you aged between 30 - 80?  Said that's all he needed to know and someone would call me back if I was eligible!  I received this call in spite of being registered with the TPS.  BE VERY AWARE OF THIS 2 CALL TRICK TO GAIN YOUR CONFIDENCE.  See previous posts.

Not from a mobile number, but from 01412800060, I got a call which turned to a whine when picked up.  I called back and got a reply from a nicely-spoken lady with a Scottish accent who said she was from "Awareness Scotland"  The sound level on the call kept coming and going so I could hear very little of what she said.  After a minute or so, I said that we are registered with the TPS and that she should not be calling my number. I then rang off.

Look Auldbachle, that just isn't how phones and numbering works.
280 numbers are not phone lines but voip numbers rented out by aql Wholesale Limited.

 You get a number with a mobile telephone and ,yes , you can use a mobile number show when making internet calls through the likes of Skype.That is probably how Tony Lindie blundered and accidentally showed 07885911337, used as a contact in Tony's capacity as a boxing promoter, when calling Fred Boats during a 14 Sept 2014 nuisance call session.

Awareness Scotland, security awareness Scotland, crime awareness Scotland, energy awareness scotland are not companies but names to hide behind from the time Uk Protect Security Systems Ltd (SC442380) punted monitored alarms and boiler installation from Anchor Mills in Paisley using  BT phone line 01418890750 and their fax machine's line 01418485168 .
I personally wouldn't let him into my house for a security survey as he has been the subject of arrest warrants as recent as Sept 2015 from Oban Sheriff Court to add to years in Saughton jail for robbery.

07885911334 to 07885911343 was in continued use when Tony was director of a company called Energy Grant Solutions Limited, (SC458422) based in the gym at Rowan Street in Paisley.

This lot called this morning,very plausible sounding young woman calling from "Awareness Scotland". She asked if my windows were over 10 years old. If so, I was eligible for a grant. Actually, we need some windows done but not through cold callers!

They also called me, from a landline called 0141 280 0060. I didn't speak to them

Polite call from "Awareness Scotland" re grants for windows etc. Pointed out to her that as this was a prelude to a sales call it was illegal as my number registered with TPS. She apologised and said that she would remove my number from her list!  Aye right!!

My BT8500 logged silent calls from 07885911339 and 07885911340 on the same day which made suspicious immediately that it was a junk caller.
