I have received 27 calls from this number to my landline in 3 hours today, totally garbled messages quoting ridiculous figures,  so I do not regard this as just a joke.
  I called T-Mobile about it and was told to call them back to disable the calls. I did this but now | am receiving texts from them to my mobile,  telling me that as I had disabled their ability to deliver the messages to my landline, I would still be charged for these texts.    T-mobile  is now trying to sort out who these people are.

I phoned BT after I got a Text Message from 0795366066 I thought it was a scam. BT told me its a number they thell people to use to opt out of txt messgaes from T Mobile. When you call the number you press three and you have opted out it's cheaper to call it after 6pm i'm told.

Got a call from this number at 8am this morning(Sunday!). I took no action on what they were requesting(to call them back) as it was pretty obvious is was yet another scam to make money. All I can advise people is that if they do not expect or can identify the number/caller that they completely ignore it. There are so many of these nuisance calls around now that you could save yourself a lot of money and hopefully stop these criminals from making a living out of the vulnerable.

Just to update everybody who has received calls on their landline numbers from the number 07953966066... I've read quite a few of people's comments and most of you are worried that it is some kind of SCAM!! Please,don't panic,this number is simply the BT TEXT MESSAGING SERVICE. As somebody accidentally sent a message to my landline number instead of my mobile.

This service is very annoying though as it rings you constantly until the text is delivered!

So, I rang the number - 07953966066 - and it informed me that I had 1 saved message and was then given the option to listen to the message (which was clearly audible - as this all depends on how the sender words their texts and messages which tend to be all garbled etc, are due to the sender abbreviating words ie text talk), I then was given another option to delete saved message which I did do!

The final option given to me was the option to control when the text messaging service can contact you. Option 1 is if you want to change the time to 24hrs a day. Option 2 is if you want to change the time to 7.30am - 11.30pm. Option 3 is the option to cancel any messages being sent to your landline number....and then the information about how to turn the text messaging service back on was lastly given and then the call was over.

I don't know where most people got their information from concerning the above number, but, it is not a mobile number as such and to ring this service back it is completely free with BT, though I am not sure about other telephony providers, so you would have to look into this with your telephony provider.

I certainly hope that the above information has helped anybody who has any queries regarding the above number!

i have three calls for the above number asking for £70 to pay a visa card .then the next one couldnt hear  message with the noise in the back ground .then tonight got another callsomeone shouting .i have reported it to the police . i have done the number from bt to stop it and it doesnt work still getting them . some body needs to put a stop to this number once in for all .

was called by this number at 6.15am. a message was left and i called number back but that just led to another recorded message! hope its not a scam and if so, how do i report/stop it?

Received a call from this number, didn't answer as it looked odd. (I have caller ID) Googled the number and after reading of other people's experiences I added it to the (growing) Caller Barred list on my phone.
Now whoever it is can't get through. Would recommend this to anyone receiving nuisance calls, costs me a couple of quid extra on my phone bill every month, but it's worth it.

I got a phone call at 01.41 am thismorning from 07953 966066 they said i had a message stored from a different mobile number. when i  pressed 1 to listen to the message i couldnt understand it. Hope it hasnt cost me anything.

Hi, after 6.30pm I get about 10 calls per night from 07953966066 saying there is a text message, then reads a text out to me. Says to cancel this service I have to call the above number from the phone it's called me on.

I received a text on my birthday wishing me a happy birthday and then it said sex, sex, sex....
I don't know the number.

Got a call on landline from this number, as the landline didn't put an id to it I didn't answer it, just did 1571, no message left. I checked my mobile phone book just in case it was a long lost friend, but no. So I didn't call back. I also paid £13.33 to be put onto a special phone list which checks all my incoming calls and I have just had this one added. £13.33 for 3 months and no more calls is just great, seems they are trying to use mobiles to get through. Shame, things must be getting tight for them.

You need to report these calls to ofcom as it is against the law to phone after 9pm at night. Also they just called me for the second time in 13 mins on my landline, SCOTCOR debt collecorots, they also are not allowed to phone after 9pm and not before 8am and not on a Sunday.

Getting cleverer these scammers. This number calls sounds very much like BT text message service which I had turned off, message is garbled but said I was getting a delivery between 3-5.

Can't turn it off because it is not a BT message, number belongs to Virgin has been calling people for 5 years from the posts, seems like a clear case of negligence Virgin mobile not turning it off.

This mobile has been ringing us in early hours or very late at night.  It must be a multi-dialled out call, as sometimes it's a "silent call" by the time we get to answer it.  Last night it left a msge - purporting to come from 07534932725.  We didn't dial it in case it was a scam which would cost us a fortune phoning some premium line abroad.  I Googled it, and found information about this number being a nuisance for 6 - 7 years now.  There is a BT Helpline to allow the blocking of texts to landlines - Google 07953966066 (ie the mobile no. that left the message) and up will come a lot of links, incl one to the relevant BT site.

Rang both numbers you quoted, and have asked for complete stop to text msge to our landline.  Thank you Google. And Thank You Andy.  It's been a pain - the calls have been waking us up in the early hours for weeks past.
