this is my second experience of unwanted calls. it seems to follow buying on the internet. my landline is ex directory. still makes a change from people phoning in the middle of the night asking for pizza delivery

These [***] heads send me texts on my houseline with my actual name saying im a fart..
How the hell are they getting peoples names

it ok everyone, some one who knows you has sent a text to your house phone, If they use text speak ie gr8 in stead of great it wont sound right it will say g r 8. its not a scam or call center, sometimes if your phone hasnt been text enabled you will be asked to ring the number back so it can read the message to you. the number is bt and not any mobile company im guessing noone on here has caller id as the message yould have made your house phone ring once and stream the text message into your caller id box, hope this helps

(i) A garbled message eluding to having a voice text message to deliver.
(ii) To stop it phone this number.
(iii) My VOIP phone shows the number 07953966066 as having dialed.
(iv) Unlike previous respondents I have not dialed the number. I usually have a feeling when I am being scammed.
(v) What is frustrating is that in the UK we get scammed over and over and no-one in the industry provides an easy mechanism to stop the the mobile number.
(vi) The authorities do though pool consumer information when wanting to tax and ensure we have insurance on our cars.

Got one missed call and a voicemail message saying 'hello dotty, running late, will be there very soon' after which was told to call 07953966066 to hear the message again.

If I pick up? and leave the phone line open and walk away, will it jam the callers' line?

can't the original or current telephone company cancel this abused telephone no...
it is obviously splurious usage

26 voice text messages left on landline answerphone in 30mins. Message said "blank". This is not coming via BT since I am have already registered on their 0800 number NOT to receive any text messages.

Had a call this morning on my landline and i could not understand it. I phoned the 0795366066 from my mobile to be told it is a text messsaging service.

Call to my landline at 0826 today, said message from some mobile number I don't know, "Nearly at street PX XXM" ( I think). 25 minutes later same number left message that it had arrived at XXM.

Didn't call the numbers, just went to google and ended up here. Madness.

I've got it -it is a fishing expedition. We have all received different wierd messges. The mysterious sender knows which wierd message was sent to which number, then, they set up a web site to report these calls. When a message appears on the web site (this one?) they tick a box on their list and append the IP address of the sender, perhaps even a name. Just building a picture of us for their data base. So, have you guessed who it is yet?

It's simply a T-Mobile user sending a message to a landline phone. Reports online about all sorts of offensive messages, but the nature of texts often include things like "Sweetpea, can you call me back".
Overreaction by some, if they just checked the details.
It can be annoying when it rings late at night, but that's your sender-friend/associate's fault, not the phone company - for once.
And it is not a scam, simply a service - albeit not a great one.
Answer it, you might get an important message, that was intended for your mobile.

As for being scammed, 079.. is a standard mobile number, with standard mobile rates.
The ones to watch out for are 070 - these are premium rate, will typically answer immediately, and play a ring-tone. Too many still get scammed by a missed call from these, but 079 is simply someone who has your number (and probably knows you, although we all dial a wrong number at times), and has sent the message to the home, not mobile number.
Some people scam themselves with their gullibility.

VERY ANNOYING!!! My wife & I were woken at 2.15am this morning by the sound of the phone ringing. After a few rings the answer machine downstairs kicks in. We could hear a 'female' voice leaving a message, somewhat garbled through the walls etc. We thought the worst at that time because my wife's family live in the Middle East and we thought it was them and something had happened so we both rushed downstairs.
The number was 07953 966066 and the message (left in a female voice, possibly Indian) went something like this "so you want your bosses house? I want my stuff back you thieving ******. Do you want your boss to know he has a thief working for him..........."
Took us almost an hour to get back to sleep after that. Both not very happy bunnies this morning!!!
Some people really need to get a life.

I have now had 8 of these 07953966066 calls on my answer phone saying there is a text message from 07951400808 waiting, but I have not phoned back thanks to this website, I am glad I checked as I think it is definately a scam.  Why don't these people get a life.

I get loads of these from this number  its when a virgin mobile number texts your landline number and an automated voice reads out the text message. My son has just sent 2 to my landline  and he is sitting the other side of the room, bored.  1st message said sons name and message said "1, 2 FREDDIES COMING FOR YOU"  AND THE 2ND "3, 4, BETTER LOCK YOUR DOOR".  Only the 1st day of summer holidays and he's bored already, I'm dreading the rest of the holidays.

I was called by this number which delievered a very important msg but i didnt get the original number that sent it... Can anyone help me by telling me how to retrieve those msges.
