Report a phone call from 07953966066 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- vermin exterminatorInteresting. I've just received one from this number but no message, not text or voice. It came in while I was dialing someone I know. So I wonder if maybe it's some kind of hacking, scamming, spamming to do with his phone. I dialled it and got three options 1 keep it on 24/7 2 keep it on 7.30am-11pm 3 cancel it. As if it is hosting a message holding service for me. Rather odd. In fact very odd. I've been plagued with a large quantity of scam spam phone harassment for the last 25 years, sometimes as many as 10 a day, but I've never come across this one before. Ooh er. If there's any more about it I'll pop back and post about it here. Yes, doubly, triply odd, as that's a mobile phone number. And I note what you people are saying here about Virgin and O2 and stuff.
- Caller: mysterious
- jayneI missed a call on my landline so rang it back 07953966066 then it said i had a message from 07572444900 the message was awful and i am yet to clarify the person it mentioned is ok cant do this for another 3 hours.
- donaldrecieved a call rang them back and got a text message rip of or what
- Call type: Text message
- PPI also received several calls within half an hour relaying a talking text on my landline from a mobile I didn't recognise saying 'help' so informed the police who, after making some internet enquiries, directed me to this site. I tried to call the mobile number given in the message but couldn't get through, so sent text, saying 'police informed' and taken battery and sim out of mobile phone just in case. I'm wondering now if some poor innocent person is trying to work out why they got that text message, but hopefully, if the scammers had linked that mobile to my landline as they did in Tom's case, and as I made no response to the originating number, nothing would be gained by them. The number will be blocked on my landline but I've had no further calls since I sent text. The police advised me to report what has happened to Action Fraud on the Internet.
- Caller: No idea
- MickflissAs a previous message stated there is nothing dodgy about this number.
I had an automated message this evening. I knew from the text who it was from. My friend lives in Crete and by mistake he sent a text message to my landline. Too Mythos /raki. He later confirmed this.
All in order.- Caller: T mobile
- Call type: Text message
- RuGot a call from this number 5 mins after setting up a skype number.
Promptly blocked it - RoseThis is a scam keep calling bloody pests !
- PAFCSame as most of you. Found this gobbledygook on my answerphone - same weird message repeated twice and asked to call 07953966066. Didn't of course. Scrubbed it. Annoyed that yet another bunch of idiots have been given our landline. (I never use my mobile or give the number to anyone. Only for family emergencies .)
- BexI had a message from this number on my landline this morning. It was a woman's voice, perfectly comprehensible. I was asked to ring this number using the same phone which they had called.
I checked on this website first - so glad I did. Thanks to all you guys and gals.
The best thing to do, if you have a mobile phone is to text the Spam Line - 7726 (which spells SPAM) if using an ordinary mobile. They investigate all messages which are thought to be Spam.
Also - report this to the Police Fraud Action line -
https://reportlite.actionfraud.police.uk/?AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1
They investigate every report on fraud spamming, phishing etc.
By the way - fixed.com is a non-existent website, so don't bother trying to find out who or what it is!
Hope this helps folks! - marchI've just received a message on my answerphone. Garbled message about their Mum having tests. As my sister was admitted to hospital yesterday thought it might have been about her. My husband said it sounds like a spam so checked on the web. Turned out it is!
- CherylJust received a call - first time I have received as text message on my landline. Some garbled message about someone dying soon. Freaked me out but dialled 1471 and got this number. Googled it and found it is a scam. Slight relief, but strange as never give out my landline number.
- Call type: Text message
- MikeGetting several calls a day from this number :(

- Malcolm| 2 repliesI got an automated message on my BT Landline from 0795 3966066.
When I phoned it back an automated voice read a text message to me from one of my friends.
It seems that they had sent a text message to my Landline instead of my mobile.
So this number is not a scam or hoax. It is a genuine text to Landline service!- Caller: BT
- Call type: Text message
- DaveMy new BT call guardian phone just came into its own. As above no messages.
so there now BLOCKED permanently. Scam or no scam from whom ever. merry xmas... - Chris replies to Malcolm| 1 replyBlock or don't block, it's up to you, but as noted above, this is not a scam. It is a genuine "text to landline" service. I just had a message from a friend who accidentally texted my land line instead of the mobile. I'm done the same thing myself on a number of occasions.
Blanks "texts" are often "my phone texted you by accident whilst in my pocket" mishaps. - Jeeves replies to ChrisUnfortunately, your excellent explanation of this number will fall on deaf ears. There is another number on this web site used by BT to provide this service and the posts have almost reached 3000. Probably about 2000 of those posts explain the reason for the calls and how to opt out from receiving them. Sadly, the other 1000 consists of people who cannot be bothered to check previous posts before they start whinging and screaming "scam". News Years Day is the best for the shouting and screaming when peoples' drunken friends/relatives have texted their New Year's messages to landlines. If it wasn't so stupid it would be amusing.
- missmuddlesHas called me twice this morning 7.15am and 7.20am saying someone sent a txt message which was 'mum', didn't call it back but would have if my daughter wasn't in. Definitely getting rid of my land line, far too many calls from companies, market research and now this. Disgraceful!!
- Caller: I don't know
- Daisy LorneRang my house phone 5 times at 10 min intervals, never picked up, first call came 1 min after another unknown mobile number rang my house phone with an 07885 prefix which was originally an O2 number but could now be on any network.
- NAJust got called now (nearly 3am on New Year's Day!). Didn't get to the phone in time to answer it, but dialled 1471 and it identified it as 07953 966 066. I won't be calling it back. But nobody wants a phone call at 3am, as you fear the worst! Lloyd it's hard to sleep if you think it might call again!
- Caller: Unlnown
- Ally| 1 replyThis is a genuine text to landline service. I received a call with a text about a course I'm booked onto as my daft friend keeps texting my landline instead of my mobile. The message gives you the mobile number that the text came from and this is how I know it is genuine.
If you've received a call and don't know the mobile number that the original text message came from, then it's possible that someone has done it by accident.
It's up to you whether you bother to call and retrieve the text message, but this is not a scam.
THIS IS A GENUINE SERVICE!- Call type: Text message
