Well well, they called again. Again I have left my other phone on silent. Clearly the recession drives the Virginal devil most caterempously. ;-)

I hope these people read this site. Perhaps they'll learn that no means no.

On second thoughts, no. This thread started more than a year ago, so they don't learn.

Had a few missed calls from this number, finally able to answer when no one looking at work. It was virgin mobile offering their services.

Not persistant on the phone about me taking a contract out just annoying with the amount of calls they make

I received a call from this number in response to a complaint i raised with virgin via the well loved medium of the written word. The guy on the other end was from their Customer Relations dept. and he got my bills down for me and got a top technician in the company to give me a call an hour later to sort out my broadband. Very impressed with them and as a contributor to this site i thought i would document this for all to see.

Calls me every 3-4 days during work time on my mobile. I am a virgin media customer with no issues (surprisingly) considering the comments here. Have set caller id to ignore. I think it also calls me at home as we have had some silent calls recently. |am listed on TPS so I am pretty p***ed off about this.

I will register an official compaint if it doesn't stop soon.

Just a comment that this is a Virgin Media number and according to their customer service reps ive spoken to regarding it it's a new system that they are trying and they apologise for it not being picked up. I let them know about this site so hopefully they will pick up on it that its not just a few people :)

Virgin called twice within 4 minutes today on my mobile number. Because (in their NTL incarnation, pre Virgin franchise) they holed my radiator feed pipe when they came to convert me to their phone system, because they failed to port the number properly, couldn't collect my DDR and thus threatened me with disconnection (although in their statement they claimed both that the DDR was successful and unsuccessful), because they didn't respond to my many recorded delivery letters (including contact to the highest level in each department), I dropped them. They barely avoided the time limit for moderation by OTELO or whatever it is. Throughout my contact with these people they treated me as an object of ridicule, laughing at me when I telephoned them, and my experience is not unique, as a web search will reveal.

I wish I'd never given them my number, I ignore them, and I consider them to be cowboys.

I have had 3 calls from this number in (literally) 2 minutes today - up to now - there is time for many more!  The first two to my landline in quick succession and then to my mobile.  Both have voicemail but no message left.  I am sure it is no coincidence that I have recently cancelled my TV package with Virgin Media, having got a much better deal from Sky.  However, I went through everything with the guy on the phone when I initially cancelled, he even offered me the TV service for FREE!! So why have I been paying bloody £22 a month for God knows how long???

Anyway, I have filled in Virgin's online complaints form and also Oftel's online complaints form.  Still, not holding my breath that the calls will stop.

I see that 08000 135 333 has started again this year. We have been receiving these calls for about six weeks every day with silence when pick up. Last night Saturday 21st Feb 2009 we finally got someone at the end of the line. It turns out to be Virgin Atlantic America Toll free nothing to do with Virgin Media or Virgin Atlantic UK. We asked for our number to be removed from their automatic calling list. Hope this will do the trick

This damn 08000 135 333 number has been calling me about twice a day for the past five or six weeks. I've also had a few calls from 000 1234567. On every occasion just silence. I thought these silent calls were supposed to be illegal now. Is there no way these calls can be stopped?

It's not Virgin; it's SKY being naughty!
    I have just received a call from the 0800 013 5333 number.
After much digging around the internet (and far too many "comment" sites with similar complaints), I've determined that it is NOT Virgin Media themselves.

Consider a marketing company which has, in the past, helped VM with some promo work, and quite possibly ILLEGALLY continuing to "abuse" the association previously (but not currently) held.

I think it is highly unfair of this company to leave the average consumer with the IMPRESSION that it is VM when it is not; it certainly gives VM a bad name/bad rep.

I have to say that WHENEVER I have called VM's customer services, I ALWAYS get GREAT service from the people at the other end.  (In fact, my BEST experiences are ALWAYS with Scottish call centres!!  Lovely gals..!)

    Consider this:
SKY have hired the call centre to do outbound calls to win customers over from Virgin.  Obviously, they save a lot of time NOT speaking to people, by simply cutting them off and getting them pissed off at VM, so they choose to switch themselves, based on inaccurate information.

Are YOU that foolish?  Would you LET a company treat you like a fool, by pulling the proverbial wool over your eyes, and leaving you to believe the wrong thing and make an important decision based on bad information?  Virgin provides good TV and great Broadband; SKY's just trying to get you to switch.  Show them you're no fool: ignore SKY.

Oh, believe me, it does not take a lot of effort for people to get pissed off by Virgin Media without needing any help.

    Speaking from my own experience.

    i spoke to them!
I was specifically waiting for a callback from Virgin Media... and no kidding that number called me and i answered it - a few seconds of silence then i say 'HI' first, and a surprised guy says 'hi' and i spoke with him quickly and he went on to say that i was already a virgin broadband customer - 'I didn't mean to call you!'.... and i said 'no wait! i am actually waiting for a callback from virgin relating to a change in my plan'.. but he didn't go on the call ended there...  soooo it's sales ppl calling ppl with plans already lol... they probs have a quota of calls they 'have' to make in a day...

I have just had the call too.  Canceled the call and 2 mins later they called back.  It was actually Virgin Mobile asking about my contract as it was due to expire.

Luckly I work for Virgin and I told him I will call the staff discount number.  He hasn't called since.

    Moved out but still calling
The phone calls I am getting are from a person however I moved out the address that I am still getting phone calls for (it is my Aunts address) 5 YEARS ago.  I have virgin at my new address and have since got married and have updated my account at my address not my old address with my married name.  Whoever is calling is asking for me (married name) and refuses to say who they are and are very abrupt with my Aunt.
