- ChristopherThey just phoned me 2 minutes ago, first time ive had it, I just pressed busy on them and hopefully wont hear from them again.
- galengirli get pinged by this number daily - the silence is because the pinger is based in Asia/India and it takes a while for the 'answered' signal to arrive from the satellite!!!!!! I have had no intention of changing from Virgin until now but this is maddening
- Caller: Vigin
- danielaI have received a call from this number today but luckly I missed it. I am glad to read your comments as I am abroad and do not want to waste money with people like them. I will just ignore their calls and hope they won't call again.
- Caller: virgin media
- HiI do not have a Virgin media account, never have but I keep getting this number calling my landline and mobile.
08000135333
Obvioulsy not calling about my acount...- Caller: ?
- GeorginaNo matter what you may have read here or elsewhere, this number DOES NOT BELONG TO VIRGIN MEDIA! They are scammers and attempt to gain your bank details by pretending they have access to your Virgin account.
This number called me today. I am with Virgin. Female caller said her name was Nina. No other details, just Nina. She said that she was calling from Virgin and that she had offers for me. I was a bit suspicious, even though she had all my details such as postcode, address, email address etc. I asked her what my account number was, and she mumbled something in a low voice that I could not understand. Most probably an attempt to reel me off the trail, but I had none of it. I told her that I was not in full belief that she was who she said she was and that If she wanted to offer me something, to do it in writing. I then hung up.
About 15 minutes later, the number called and it was a male voice this time. Said his name was 'Barry' and that he was calling from Virgin to validate what 'Nina' said. I told him that It doesn't matter if twenty people call me, I am not going to discuss anything unless they prove to me that they have access to my Virgin account. He spoke in a very loud voice and DEMANDED that I listen to what he had to say. I explained to him that he did not have the right to make orders to me and that I would be hanging up and would not answer anymore calls from that number. I then did that.
Out of curiousity, I contacted Virgin and asked them about this. They told me that nobody had contacted me from Virgin and they had not tried to sell me anything. Told me whoever called me was most likely a scammer and to ignore them.
These people try to sell you extra Virgin services onto your package. The thing is, for the Television box for example, you need to pay a one off fee. If they get hold of your bank details, you can kiss goodbye to all funds within it. If you tell them you have all Virgin media services, they will most likely hang up because they have no way of getting your bank details from you.
DO NOT engage in conversation with these people. Most of all, if these people say they are from Virgin, do not believe them and simply hang up the phone. They are crooks, thieves and will be reported to the police and trading standards. Hopefully we can get some justice against these people. - EvaSomeone called me yesterday
- Laurai had absolutly no idea who this was calling me until i saw this site, i'm glad it's put my mind at ease a bit tbh...
i was worried about ringing them back (because i've missed the call both times) because i thought 08000 was premium rates...
at least i know roughly who it is now!- Caller: christ knows!
- kyliesick of these nuisance calls with no answer
- RhiannonGot called by this number yesterday, when i called back it came up with Number Not in Use. WTF?!
- SamThey just called me but all I got when I answered was silence
- ARGH!I have been receiving calls from this number for months now. On the occassions that someone has replied when I have said hello, I have repeatedly asked them not to call me during work hours, which they have ignored!
I have repeatedly asked them to take me off their list, which they have ignored!
On average I have received 4 calls each day, the last one today at 4.04pm, for the past month, if this was an ordinary person off the street it would be classed as harrassment.
I am a Virgin Mobile customer but have nothing to do with Virgin Media nor do I ever want to in future and I am seriously considering cancelling my Virgin Mobile contract!- Caller: Possibly Virgin Media??
- MeI too have been receiving calls from these people for months. I have generally ignored it as when I do answer it is silence.
Just now though I answered, somebody said hello, so I just left the phone connected and put it down on the desk. After half a minute they hung up.
I would suggest everyone does the same - answer the call but do not speak and hopefully they will one day get fed up of it. Drives me barmy :-( - deanjust had this call on my landline twice in two mins, but been winding me up for weeks, just keep getting an engaged tone when i answer!!!
- PaulIts Virgin Mobile
- Caller: Virgin
- Me againLota Regingco (I think that was it) from Virgin Media just called me - I was quite suprised she gave me her full name but it was probably just made up. I asked her for my account number for security reasons but of course she could not disclose this to me also for security reasons. I asked her for the Virgin Media customer service number which she didn't have available.
So I told her I didn't think it was very professional for a company to call me 100+ times per month and then have nobody there when I did answer the phone. I told her I wasn't going to fall for their scam so to remove me from their list of people to call. She said she would make a note of it on my account.
I imagine the calls will cease for a week or two and then restart. - Me Yet againHaving called the Virgin Media Nuisance Call Burea (0800 953 3333) I have found out this really is Virgin Media. Apparently the Number is registered to Virgin Mobile. The lady I spoke to admitted they use automated diallers hence the silence when you answer the phone. I have made a complaint and the lady I spoke to says she will do what she can. I will be checking the Telecommunication Act 1984 to see where I stand with this.
I suggest everyone logs a complain on the above number to stop this. - JacksI am not a customer of Virgin at all, but I get phoncalls from this number at least twice a day - don't answer it though. It's really annoying though, when my mobile goes off when I'm sitting in work & it's this number.
This is the first time I've thought to check it out on here.
Wonder why I'm getting them, if I have nothing to do with Virgin..... - Naz08000135333 called me today, three times, no message left
when called back an automted system says virgin media tried calling and will call back - Richard BransonOn behalf of Virgin Media I would like to make the most sincerest apologies to all the victims of this atrociousity my personal apologies

- AnnoyedThey call here several times a day. Every day. Any hour of the day.
All I do is take the call and put the phone down. It's their money being spent, not mine.
Oh for a zaptel card so I could run the landline through Asterisk and block these f***ers.
