    Man called me from this number regarding my virgin media account. I don't use Virgin so told him he had the wrong number. He accused me of lying, so I said why would I lie about that. He didn't answer and shouted a cuss word down the phone so I hung up.

    I am so fed up of these calls right now. I feel like blowing an air horn down the phone to sort the [***] out,

    I was contacted twice today. the first one at 11:59am and the second at 12:01. I missed both of the calls. When looking at the details of the call it stated the the caller was unknown.

    I Think I can categorically state that 08000 135 333 IS a call center, employed by Virgin Media. This morning, the phone rang and a pleasant, but oriental sounding lady told me she was calling on behalf of Virgin Media. She told me I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service, (which I am), but had not opted out of marketing calls from Virgin Media. She offered to put me on their "dont call" list. To which I said "yes, please do". At no point in the call was I asked for any personal information. After asking if I was happy with my cable broadband and phone service, she asked if I was interested in their cable-tv service, to which I said I wasn't,(I have Freeview). The lady thanked me for my time, and said they wouldn't call me again.

    Immediatly after the call had ended, I checked the 1471 caller ID facilty. Guess who had just called - 08000 135 333

    Two questions:

    Was I conned ?
    If not, why do Virgin Media still insist it's not one of their numbers?

    Caller from this number started the conversation by asking me for a password....I said 'you called me mate, so you give me a password'.  He said, OK we can do this another way, what's your account number...said I don't know if off the top of my head and I'm not going hunting around cupboards and drawers looking for the paperwork for an unsolicited call.  He then said OK what's the last amount we took out of your account....again I said, you tell me.  OK...what level of service do we provide you.   Sorry, you've called me to ask what level of service you give me....don't you know?  He then hung up. Result!

    I have recently switched my broadband service provider to Virgin.
    I received a telephone call tonight at 6.08pm
    A female voice asked for me. When I confirmed who I was, she gave her christian  name which I missed, and stated she was was phoning on behalf of Virgin.
    She also said that she was aware that I was registered with the Telephone Preference Service.
    I told her that I did not like calls of this nature and not to call again.

    Very strange male said he was from Virgin inquiring about my account. I have control of two accounts - mine and my 87 year old mother's. I asked him which account number he was calling about but he spoke as though he was trying to avoid the question. Any legitimate Virgin employee would have this information ready the second I asked for it.

    This is most likely a scam so please do not give these bottom feeders what they want

    This number called my mobile. Someone with an oddly effeminate Indian accent claimed to be calling from Virgin Media and seemed to have information about the type of account I have with them. He started to talk about adding a land line phone with completely free calls all day for only an extra £3 to my existing bills then the connection was broken.

    i'm with virgin for broadband and landline which them never call only my busines mobile. there is never anyone there when i answer. i call virgin to complain and they totally denied that it was them until i pointed out i'd rung back and got a virgin message! they have agreed to take all my details off the marketing database, so we'll see if that is true or another bare faced lie!!

    Everyday, like the sun rising and the sun setting,,,, this number calls me. I don't answer it in case I get a huge charge for the pleasure!!!! Not. Might change provider to see if I can get rid of this caller- Im with Virgin Media too.

    I have had this number call me about 10 times in the last couple of weeks - alwyas when I am working - with no message left. Have never rang it back - why should I!? Looked up the number online and found all this info. Now I know what it's all about I feel less guilty about ignoring! Thanks!
