Report a phone call from 08000285085 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- GeoSpoke to BT earlier about stopping the automatic renewal of my BT Unlimited Anytime for voice & was told it was too early to lodge this on their system (but there's less than a month til it's renewed?!).
An hour later I received a call from this number (I didn't answer). Two minutes later I got a call from 08000 272500.
No messages left either time. - PhilJust had a call. Male, soft Irish accent (I think). He asked for me by name. I told him he'd got the wrong number. The same number had rung a few minutes before but was silent. They also rang yesterday but were silent.
- CazIf you type 08000285085 in the search pages of this website www.snozwangler.com it says that it is a scam. Dont answer phone or call them back. But does anyone know how to block this number I am already registered with telephone preference service but get about 7 calls a day from this number.
- MartinI got a very impolite call from this number which really fazed the wife. When she asked to speak to a supervisor, the call went on hold and then went dead. I had just resubscribed to BT and this caller implied the voucher I had used was out of date. I contacted BT and they confirmed that my account was perfectly set up and there was no problem with it. I had also received the £1.96 discount. I think this was a cold caller - and they are making their own BT message up to cover their tracks.
- Caller: ????
- ruthhad a call this morning saying it was an automated payment request as we owed money and if we didn't pay immediatley we could be disconnected and charged late payment fee. asked for bt account number and card details. just put phone downn.
- Caller: BT
- AnitaHave had numerous calls from this number at all times of day. really fed up with them as have emailed BT several times asking them to desist. Being woken at 5am was the final straw for me. Think its to do with them farming out call centres to Delhi.
- Caller: BT
- GarillaI got this call on my mobile, checked the number on "WHOCALLSME" and got this thread.
HOWEVER, the same number phoned me on my Office line.
It is BT.
They were calling to confirm an installation of lines.
So, while you may not gurantee that its not a marketing call, you CAN be safe that it is BT- Caller: BT
- jasoni received calls from this number.
sometimes they hang up
other times they have made silly noises and left them on my answer machine!! very bizarre, not sure who they are!
They phone at around 8am and 8pm. - TOBYthis no. called - recorded msg saying BT a/c was in arrears, has incurred a charge, unlikely given that I pay by direct debit, it said please have a/c no. to hand, sems to be rather fraudulent.
- RobbieThis was BT technical support phoning back to check that my broadband fault had been fixed and had no further issues - I like that kind of service. (I missed the 1st 2 calls to my mobile & they phoned again, just as promised in the pre-recorded message that you hear if you phone back the number)
- Caller: BT broadband technical support
- champ10nThe number behind 08000285085 (in my instance) is 01793598902.
I put this number into whocallsme and there is no other messages,
So if anyone out there can find out who this numbers for, I would like to know.
I suspect it to be BT as they are the biggest phone pests out there.- Caller: BT?
- Tazlol i got this number too came up I never pickup phones unless i know the number so i went online and found this website like most of you, seems to me like its a scam then, don't pickup waste of time and never give out your information over the phone unless you know for a fact its BT, meh pretty soon everyone will leave BT because their service stinks if they can even allow muppets like these to phone us up ¬_¬
- JuliaHad a missed call from this number. When I called it back I got a recorded message saying it was Bt and they will try to contact me at another time.
- Caller: BT
- LeeIt is BT, i sent them a message a few days ago about a broadband enquiry. They tried to call me i didnt answer (as i dont pick up number i dont know). I then recieved an email from there customer support saying "I have just tried to call you on your mobile at 12.35pm" the email had the message i had sent them too.
Im my case its a genuine call from BT.- Caller: BT
- Fed UpI too just had a call from this number. I let it go to answer phone but they cut off. The reason why they hang up once you answer the call is that (from my understanding) they are doing research on behalf of other companies to see when people are at home. They will most likely try to call you 3 or 4 times over the course of a week or so. If they phone someone up 3 times over 3 days at 11am & someone answers every time then they will pass this information over to other companies. Then the real company will phone you up at that same time in say a months time for example to get you to sign up for something. My advice ignore this number if it rings.
- EmilyThis NumberHas Rung Two Days In A Row Now I Havent Answered It, But I Rang It Back With 141 And Its Said It Was BT But It Didnt Sound That Professional :S
I Havent Answered It And From Reading Some Of These Comments I Most Probably Will Not Now.- Caller: Apparently BT
- amiWe to have received a number of calls from this number over the past few days and it has made me quite angry.
All three of my family are disabled , my husband and I are the worst with walking problems, so getting to the phone to answer it before the person rings off is always hit and miss.
We have now counteracted this by having our answerphone on to give us that extra bit of time to 'pick-up'.
Well all I can say is talk about 'Queens English' ..........the person who called left us messages and a phone number to call us back on , but could I understand them ?
Time and time again I played the messages back to my husband and son , but none of us could understand a word of what was said , and it wasn't the quality of the answerphone recording either .
In fact we didnt have a hope in hells chance of getting anything off the message left as the lady spoke so fast she actually didnt give herself time to speak before she hung up, I tell you if there was a gold medal for speed walking in the Olympics this lady would take it every time .
So, what was the point of all these desperate phone calls to my home?
Your not going to believe this , it was merely to let me know that they had received my email and that everything was OK!!!!!!!
For goodness sake BT, why in heavens name didnt you just leave this message the very first time you called me? you could have saved my family the stress and annoyance of all your garbled, incoherent and stupid messages.
BT.........As we your customers pay so much for your services could we please have your customer service team sent on a course to learn to speak 'ENGLISH' you know that nice language which is spoken slowly and clearly so that people can actually understand what is being said .- Caller: Bt

- katit was apparently some guy trying to phone me from a different number coz his mobile wasnt working. matt from swindon. i met him on a singles website. i have his supposed email address mobile number and now this number.
- HarryBeware this number is risky - do not answer / return call / do not give any personal information - it is a scam / it is not BT
Beware of comments on this site saying it is a BT number - they are part of the scam
This number is related to a debt collection agency looking for people or is a fraud scam - I have been investigating this number for several months
I hope my comments are useful to you
I hope this posted message appears
Good luck
