Report a phone call from 08000285085 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- miss p***sed offGot a call from this number this morning; didnt make it in time to pick up bfore they rang off. I've read previous comments and would like to add that we are also being pestered by a debt collection agency trying to contact some one who as far as I know has not lived at this property for the past two decades; perhaps they are working together? I mean some muppet has clearly thought it would be fun to give out our(ex-directory) phone number as his own to evade paying off money he owes; perhaps this 'company' is selling people's phone details to help low lives like him?
- E MIn my case I think it is BT phoning for a marketing call - I stupidly said I was prepared to answer 2 minutes of their questions re their service. Having checked this website, I am not not inclined to answer, but worry that if I don't, I will be harassed for evermore by some automated call system!
- Mrs J HuntYour neighbour (gave name of neighbour but strangely enough her previous married name) has been trying to contact you and is worried as she cant get through. Can you confirm that your phone is OK.
- Caller: BT (they said)
- JJonesThis is scary stuff. I rang BT on 0800 800 150(to cancel my services, not surprisingly) and I was told that I was in a queue and the automated system told me that they could call me back on a mobile number within the hour. So I opted for that, and two hours later a recieve a call from this number (08000 285085). They said that I had requested a call back - so either it was BT or someone who somehow knew I'd requested a call back. Thing is, he sounded quite unprofessional, and then after a short conversation he disappeared (the call was still open, but he wouldn't respond).
So I ring the 0800 800 150 number to get back to the customer services, and this time there was no queue and I got through. After sorting the account out etc, I asked about this call back system, and the guy told me that they DO use the 08000 285085 number to call back. Except that he then went on to say that they had no record of me recieving the call back. Argh, don't know what to think about that. I didn't give the call back bloke any bank details, but still its somewhat worrying. And the fact that so many people have trouble with this number, yet BT seem to know nothing. I'll never be using their service again, it's ALWAYS a ball ache.- Caller: WHO KNOWS?
- Kevin| 1 replyJust had this number call at 8.45 to be told I hadnt payed the bill
and asked me to pay by credit card
But I had payed so I put the phone down and phoned BT my self
to conferm that it was payed
The man at BT said the account was upto date....
How many people are being coned by this everyday??- Caller: BT
- WendyI had a fault on my home line, the engineer called to say it was fixed, great, then this number calls six times in five minutes!! I eventually answer it and it was just an automated message from BT to say the line had been fixed, no other calls since.
- Caller: BT
- AnonReceived call from them today at 10:57am, I didn't pick up, no message left they just hung up.
- AnnSomeone keeps calling my number annoyingly. The phone has been ringing now for the 16th time. Like they dont have anything to do. Get a life u muppets!!!
- SteveJust to clarify things a little, there seems to be some confusion over which number is being referred to here. The 0800 0285085 is an actual BT services number but if the one calling you is minus a zero and therefor 0800 285085, this is NOT BT and according to the BT personal I have just spoke with, the latter is under investigation by BT and the Police. If you should answer the phone to either of these numbers then ask them to verify the last 4 digits of your BT account(If asked NEVER quote anymore digits) and NEVER give card or bank details. Contact BT via 0800 800150 to continue. Hope this helps.
- Joe BloggsSaid they were from BT and to change all my passwords ASAP.

- Mrs PerryIt's BT customer services. They rang to let me know that my faulty line had been fixed.

- SusanIve head several calls from that number and its really upset me . The calls range from heavy breathing and silences to sexual inuendo .
I had one call at 9.10 am on a sunday morning and a mans voice on the phone asked if i had just woken up ....then asked what i was wearing .....and asking other questions like 'did i have a big night last night - did i GET something big last night ' and lots of 'banter' in the conversation that frankly i find inappropriate .....he even asked if i had got dressed yet and what i was wearing....i hung up the phone . it ruined my day and i couldnt get the pervert out of my mind all day - i cant belive these perverts can just get my number and abuse me like this.- Caller: pervy man 08000285085
- Susan DayJust had a call from 08000285085 saying that I owed several hundred pounds and I must call back or be cut off within 8 hours a) I don't owe any money b) they never mentioned my name on the phone c) I don't even have a BT One account....always check the web to see if it might be a scam and believe this is a scam, not calling back.

- IanDefinitely BT. Called 3 times in 10 minutes today. On 3rd call I picked up and waited. After a few seconds, got a voice recording - it was a Customer Satisfaction survey. Fully automated, press 1 for good, 7 for rubbish and at the end you can leave a message.

- Caller: BT
- MFPATwo calls today from 08000285085. Both hung up after 5 rings - BT answer 1571 doesn't catch my calls until after the 7th ring.
After the second call, I rang back (prefixing with 141) and got a recording saying BT had tried to ring me but there was no answer and if they still need to contact me they will call again. It is not the usual voice for BT's recorded messages and sounds amateur-ish, with muffled background noise.- Caller: claiming to be BT
