A call today was a recorded message telling me about the analogue TV switch off and how to retune my BT Vision box.

Sorry Louise and Jill, I think you are both wrong. I keep getting this on my mobile but they dont last long and I never answer it. The one time I did I got a very aggressive and rude man demanding an immediate payment. As I pay by standing order and had just moved and everything was up to date I explained this and he stil demanded money. He could not give me any indication of what for. I was too cross to put two and two together. I spoke with BT a few days later (I called them) about another matter and checked my account status- everything was OK. Thery keep calling my mobile. As I have land lines with BT why call my mobile? Do not be fooled! This is not a genuine BT call.

Do what I have done now, buy a phone with call restriction (mine is a panasonic KX TG8422, you add numbers to the phone which you dont want to ring and the caller gets a busy sort of tone, this number had started calling over the last few days, now I know what it is, its been added to the other cold callers:-)

This number keep calling me lately.saying i owe bt 571.00 which i know i dont for line rental. because i paid off bt for my bill and i was even told that my name was no longer on there system.so why this number is calling me all after a sudden. am confuse

I had a bt account few years back i was in arrear i paid them off then cancelled it,after cancelling it i called to make sure that it was cancelled and i owed them nothing a lady in customer service answered and said my name is no longer on there bt system. after a year i just receive a call from bt saying i owe them over £500.00 for soemthing with line rental and its a courtesy call. i dont understand after one year bt is calling me . why have they not cut the landline off. thats strange i dont know what to think of it

This number is NOT BT. its a scam i get loads of calls saying i owe hundreds in unpaid bills. which i do not as i pay by DD.there was a warning in my local paper about this number saying they are BT they say that they will disconnect you if you dont pay. sometimes when you have hung up they stay on the line so that when you go to use your phone again you think you have been disconnected. you havent it's the scammers they ring you back and ask for your bank details.DO NOT GIVE IT TO THEM.

It's BT - I paid my bill via direct debit today as normal but keep getting calls.

When I paid it I was told it would take 24 hours to process my payment (what happened to the paperless / electronic, instant society?)

I phoned the number given and eventually chose Option 3 - "Tell us you have already paid". I got the unobtainable tone and a message saying "This number has not been recognised".

So BT can't even get their automated call flows right.

I guess we'll have to put up wih these anonymous calls for ANOTHER 24 HOURS.

had loads of call from this number!! it is not bt as they do not know my mobile number and they are ringing that aswell early mornings and late at night bt do not make outbound calls before or after a certain time ! bt are investigating with the police! i am asked for card details etc however it must be an inside job as the amounts were the same as my last bill which i had already paid they said if i didnt pay i would be disconnected bt assures me that this is not the case do not be fooled

spoken to nuisance calls this is a scam!!! if people are still in doubt call them

I have just spoken to BT re a broadband problem.
I agreed to take part in a customer service by pressing 1(just to get through to someone sooner).
My phone has just rang 3 times in 10 mins from this number, went onto this site to see who it was as I had forgotten I had agreed to do survey!
Anyway after reading here it was BT I answered it and it was an automated survey.
It's definatley a safe number so don't worry :)

i have had a call from this number claiming to be from bt asking for a £410 deposit to connect me.

been getting these calls for awhile now but not answered any of them,they have just left me a message on my voicemail stating something to do with a payment regarding the phone network 3!maybe a coinciedence but i am actually on the 3 network and the guy was asian,so if any of you have ever been with 3 r still are maybe itssomething to do with them?

Starting to get silent calls from this number. If it is BT, shame on you!!

ROFL I work for BT and I missed this call tonight as I am working at present, I can't wait for them to call back I will put the fear of god in them

this is a BT no and I think its a genuine one as I also got an email saying they had tried to call me, after I called them with an issue.

ive just had it and checked the voicemessage, its no bogus bt callers at all people, its from digital telling us about the switchover. its an automated voice message. it says to retune again for bt vision. thats all , nothing weird or scmming about it. simply bt vision people, re tune your box.

This number seems to vary as to who it is from, all very confusing.  It called today and as there is a fault on our line I am going with the BT fault system and so is not a scam.
Always be cautious NEVER give out personal information to an incoming caller.
If it is someone you know eg your bank take them through security details - ask them to give you the last 3 transactions on your account and ask them to call back in 20 minutes or sometime convenient to you. Then, as a final safeguard, ask for their name and location then check with the bank via their freephone security / fraud section.

Just got a call from this number which I ignored and thanks to all this information, I am glad I did.

I wonder if when you pick up the phone the scammers record the number as attended and sell it on!  A bit like in scam e-mails where there is an UNSUBSCRIBE link which, if pressed, guaranties that your address will be passed on.

This number is a genuine BT number.
I logged a fault with BT. I received an automated call to confirm when the fault would be sorted.
BT did however mis-sell me a broadband contract, overcharge me, and disconnect my mobile without telling me it would happen on this new contract, and had me on their dis-jointed phone system for over 2 hours today!! What a state!!
I cancelled the lot. To55ers!

This is BT.  I have been dealing them over a home move for the past couple of days and got a call from this number today.  Luckily the person calling left a message referring to the problems I have been having so I KNOW that it is genuine.
