Report a phone call from 08000285085 and help to identify who and why is calling from this number.
- The DDon't mean to be a 'disbeliever', but if this IS a genuine BT phone number, why are you all on this website checking out the number???
If I get a genuine call from a number I know is genuine, I don't see ANY reason whatsoever to come to this site and check it out.
It's not BT folks. At all.- Caller: NOT BT
- DitaThis number have been calling me last three days in any time of the day(been woken up at 1am and 3am). Very strange that they want to speak to different person everytime they call-last time (three minutes ago) I was Mrs Duck. All the voices are with indian accent.Any advice what to do?
- Caller: ???
- Jennibcalled me this morning at 8 am - because of the nature of the number i did not answer...given the number of complaints on whocallsme.com I am reporting this number
- Caller: not known
- malcolmBT in response to a complaint i had submitted
- Caller: BT

I never asnwer my phone to this number and they never leave msgs,,and after reading comments here im not ever likely to answer to them, i will try and block this number, we should dall block this number!
- Caller: BT
- G BrownRecorded message with first bit missing so you don't know who they are. It gives you a recorded message in a womans voice and tells you to press 1 if your the account holder or 2 if you have permission to use the account and then 3 and that's the end of message.
- SiobhanThis is a BT Customer service number calling from India, they did call me for a genuine reason and have fingers crossed fixed the problem with my additional line. They are a large call centre in India so some on the remarks where they are trying to extort money would concern me. I suspect they don't earn a great wage and there are some bad apples. The difficult part is reporting this to BT and understanding where you will report it. Finding a uk call centre is impossible. I've tried all week. So if anyone knows of a number then please speak up on some of the "answers" forums. Thank you
- Caller: BT (India Call Centre)
- RobThis is definitely BT, they called me and then I called them back. Then they had to call me back 6 times before the problem resolved, principally because they are in India. The lines disconnect regularly and if they don't understand what you are saying they pass you on to another person but just don't tell you they are doing it. I think the language issue is making for a great deal of BT [***] ups. Whenever they disconnect a call, they hit the computer screen and call back who they THINK they were talking to.
I came back to this site to veryify that it was BT when my mystery was unravelled.- Caller: BT In india
- KarenIt seems to be hit or miss as to whether you think it's genuine or not. They called me and said my Husband complained about one of their BT operatives. I've never had a BT phone (NTL), they called my work mobile so why did they want my husband and not me. And my husband has never complained about BT. So for me it was a scam and the guy on the phone was very sheepish when I said we've never had BT and said he'll cancel the complaint !!!!
- PeterThis is a genuine BT number. I reported a fault with my landline and later found out it is my broadband router that was causing the problem. BT call back to tell you the line is fixed.
- Caller: BT
- ChrisJust had a call from this number, and it was a recorded message saying my phone line has been reconnected, cos i've just paid my arrears.
- Brian EllisThis number belongs to BT or a company working on behalf of BT.
If you have placed a telephone line trouble report recently, BT will contact you from this number to keep you abreast of their progress with your report.
If you did not place a telephone line trouble report recently, then it is possible that somebody else placed the telephone line trouble report on your behalf, without you even knowing about it. That is referred to as a second party trouble report.
Remember to keep all of your personal information private. Especially when you are being contacted and asked questions by anyone who you are not sure of.
Brian Ellis- Caller: British Telecom (BT)
- Gaz62Just had a call from them, Indian lady saying she was from BT and could she check our details how many lines (business), how many mobiles, who provided our lines and who our data services were provided by. I answered her questions but it got a bit odd when she asked about data services, I don't look after them and said so.
She asked if I could put her on hold while I went off and found the answer for her. I refused. She then told me she couldn't update the BT database to which I replied that I didn't really care.
With BT Global splitting up and BT Local Business on the phone every five minutes I think I could save BT a few bob and get them to stop doubling up on their work.
Personally think this is a BT number but someone is abusing the system for their own ends.- Caller: BT
- SaraHad 2 missed calls from this number (whilst at work - so answer phone got them) if it is BT then why in the hell are they calling my mobile when I have never given this number to them and my mobile is with Virgin.
Go away BT and leave me alone - I pay all my bills, no problems with line - NO REASON TO CALL ME.- Caller: BT from what I read
- phildefinately BT. I had been ringing BT customer services several times about a house move over the last few days as the system had somehow managed to show my order for the new line as active (i had called to cancel) and the cancellation of my old one uncancelled !! Anyway, i had a nice call from BT this morning to check what my actual requirements were as the system showed several conflicting requests. Whilst typing this I have had a call back from the guy to confirm that my disconnection will now happen as planned!
- Caller: BT
- robi've had this number call me twice in a week now. it asks me to press 1 if i'm the owner or 2 if i represent the owner. it says i have an unpaid bill from a while back. i pressed 1 and it then asks me to get my bt account number and card details ready.(like im that stupid)
two things that bother me:
1.im with virgin direct debit not bt(since forever)
2.if its that important they will be a letter through the post or a human will phone me.
in the words of alan partridge"scum, sub-human scum)
total scam.- Caller: bt????
- Richard M Willis> but i am worried that its one of the ones that can tap into your phone
> and use the money in your account, as when you pick up, they can hang up, and > then they have full access to your account to use all your credit!!!
This is nonsense.
What you describe is not possible unless you have some complex exchange at your home which is capable of re-originating such calls.
Wher did you get this idea from. - DaveScamming holidays now.
7 days Orlando, 3 days Fort Lauderdale and a 3 night cruise. All you need to pay is the administration fee blah blah blah....- Caller: Not known
- anthonyIt is a UK Number. So report to ofcom
- MartyI have two landlines from BT for broadband but no "phones" are plugged in, I actually use a VOIP telephone system, and have a SIP-to-regional number that people call me on, which is owned and managed by gradwell not BT..
I had this "BT/SCAM" call me on my voip landline number. So as BT are not aware of my voip landline number, and only have the two landline numbers that I don't use or answer, why would i get this call from "BT" on my Voip phone system if it wasn't a scam.?- Caller: BT or a Scam
