This number keep ringing me but leave no message

if this was genuine why when they phoned me he needed me to state how much i owed and also asked for bank details if it was indeed BT they would already know these details ??

just rung BT and was told this number 08000285085 is not a BT number but due to her phone breaking up all the time i put the phone down but when the same lady called me back it was from that number ??

I had an issue with my BT broadband yesterday and they have been calling me on this number to see if it is working.  Came through on my mobile and they are the only business I have give my mobile number over to, as checking my line requires them to call me on an alternative number.

I had a really rude call from this number by someone claiming to be from BT. When I called BT to complain about the guy's rudeness I was informed that it wasn't one of their numbers and it was not to be answered if it called again.

Rang my Mum asking for Dad (recently passed away)... said wanted to inform about important changes to calling plan... Mum does not understand and calls out to me to ask our postcode as man is asking for it... He is oblivious that the account has changed name to Mum and shoud not be upsetting her... She says just "NOT INTERESTED" ... they have rung so many times... I told her to just say if they call again... "If you know this number, you know who I am and will know that the account has changed, do not ring me, if it is important, send me a letter, don't keep asking me stupid questions!"

why are BT doing this and what do they want?

Called at 16:00 on 2/6/11 - some girl (childlike) asking for "Dad".

This is the call out number used by BT. I have had it call me a couple of times in response to queries I have raised with them. Seems perfectly legitimate.

pardon my french but is it bollocks BT. I had some indian guy saying there is a problem with an engineer call out arranged for the day you move in (no date mentioned) and his grammer and use of language were appauling ( i know mines not much better but i am doing this in a rush:) )

it all started when i cancelled my O2 mobile contract (set up via carphone warehouse) since then ive had 5 different no's try and contact me. moral - dont ever use carphone warehouse, google this problem and you'll see tons more people with same issue.

had phoned bt to ask  why i get charged £27 per mth for a £13.60 per mth contract- and i was told ots a standard charge. asked at end of yr what happens to money they took as i effectively paid double?- answer they didnt know. i also somehow have £70 outstanding although all my bills are up to date!!- do not use my landline for calls i only required it to get broadband which is with a diff provider!!!

I Hung up on BT in fraustration and this number then started phoning. 6calls in 30min- no answer on line just silence.

had a call from this number last week to my mobile
asian man said he was from BT and that they were trying to fix the fault on my BT line.
as i knew nothing about a fault, i asked who he was wanting to speak to
he gave a male first name, then part of my surname
the line was poor and it was muffled when i asked him his name.
so, is this actually BT????

Sick of these calls.NO ONE SPEAKS, although there is background office noise.

Recieved call from this number. they left a message. It does seem to be a customer service call from BT about a letter I sent them recently.

I received a call from this number and didn't get to the phone in time, I dialled 1471 and (thinking it was a cold caller) didn't bother to return the call.
Ten minutes later the call rang again and I let it go to my answering machine when a guy said "OK, I'm starting to get pissed off with this now" then he hung up. I swear that somebody said this into my answering machine so I decided to ring back to complain but received an automated BT answer message saying they tried to call me and I wasn't available, if they need to contact me they will do soon.
I can't wait for this idiot to call me back. This was 5 mins ago and I sit here eagerly by the phone. :o)

I keep getting calls from thsi number claiming to be BT and that i owe them money.  However when i went online anmd tried to pay the mponey through my bt account they said i was trying to pay mpore thatn my bill.  I think its a scam!!
