I have had calls from this number and then to my mobile. Strange thing is, they don't know my mobile and any divert is to a different number. IF it's BT, it's strange that they are phoning my mobile number. I'm with those who think it's a scam

I thought the only way to get services from BT was to pay by Direct Debit (unless you want to pay a 'service charge').  Therefore there should be no need to remind anyone that they haven't paid their bill.

This number is BT's Indian call centre. To be honest I would simply ignore them, they have been absolutely useless dealing with issues I've contacted them about, so I doubt their cold calling is going to be any more helpful.

As soon as my contract with BT runs out (I moved house a few months ago, so they have me over a barrel for the next 8 months) I will be changing to a firm that:
    a. Has a call centre in the UK - so my data doesn't go abroad
    b. Cares about its customers.

If I was permitted to swear there would be a torrent !!!!!

Left a voicemail saying they were ringing me back about a fault I had reported with my phone and internet.  Funny as the only provider I have ever had for my phone and broadband is VM as BT wanted £200 to connect me after previous occupant was disconnected due to debt!

Can this number get any information if I listen to the voicemail they have left on my mobile?

I too have found BT a nightmare and therefore have just changed to The Phone Co-op for telephone and broadband services. With them you get a proper landline number to call and I have not only managed to speak to the person I had had email communication with, on another occasion I have even spoken to the same person that I had spoken to a couple of days earlier. The downside is it is not a freephone number but if you ask them to call you back straight away it desn't cost you much.

They have not been perfect but are a hundred times better than BT.

Just had a call from a woman who said she was in the Philippines calling for BT - couldn't pronounce my surname!  I told her to get lost
    • Caller: allegedly BT but don't believe them

She was probably already lost, she's ended up in the Phillipines.  It's easily done, take the wrong exit off the M25 etc.

I too had messeges left from this number after moving house. It was not a number listed on my BT Bill so
I phoned the regular BT helpline and asked for a call back.
The call back came from this number, so I assume is genuine.

I keep getting phone calls for another person. Today this number phoned asking for them saying they were from BT. I'm confused seeing as I have had this number since December and I'm not a BT customer. She said this was the number registered to the BT account I explained how clever that was given I'm not with BT and I don't even live in same town as the person they are looking for. I think they have phoned before.

Reminds me of a few years ago when I received a number of calls from someone asking to speak to "auntie Joyce".  It was hard to convince the caller that there was no Joyce (auntie or otherwise) at my address, and hadn't been during the ten years I'd lived there.

And then there was a guy speaking an Indian language who, after I had convinced him that I didn't understand, switched to English and insisted on speaking to someone with an Indian name.  When I told him he must have got the wrong number, he said, "But I'm calling from Canada." as if that was of any relevance.  I know the UK is much smaller in area than Canada, but we don't all know each other.  He still called back a few times before presumably giving up.

It's easy to misdial, but if one gets the same wrong number twice, it's time to stop.

I have been receiving calls daily from this number telling me my BT phone bill hasn't been paid and asking me if i would like to  make a payment over the phone. I have been to online chat with BT and they assure me that this is a scam call. Do not make a payment to this number!
