The missinformation here is redicolous.     The number IS FROM BT so those saying it's not need to get their facts straight before posting. You are posting false information.

I have had slow internet connection with BT and they just called me back as promised from last night on this number so it is a legitimate number.

The same here. We received many calls from this number and they even hold our address.  It's a con. Be wary and don't make any payments.

I am being rang 9+ times a day for the last week from this number saying they are from bt and need my bank details as I have an outstanding bill ....I have never been with BT !!!! Not even answering now !!!

This is a LEGITIMATE BT number - they called me back about a BT Business Broadband fault our company is facing. They left voicemail after I didn't answer it due to the FALSE INFO ON THIS THREAD. Get your facts right before posting people please.

They may be calling about a bill you face if they came out to repair a fault and you are with a different provider? Or maybe it was for a previous occupant or your home/business. Nevertheless, it is BT.

People posting to the thread report their own experiences usually.   Just as you did.    Numbers get spoofed.

ThunderPants4 has so many aliases on here that they end answering their own questions. Oh, and none of them can spell.

The posts made by the copy/paste method show perfect spelling and grammar. That is how they were identified as such.

My frail, 80 year old aunt received a rude call from 08000 285085 this evening at 20:26 21/11/15, claiming to be BT, asking for information and calling her a 'LIAR'.!! ... I manage her account with BT, and am the contact, of which any genuine BT agent would be well aware. There are no issues with the line or the account, and definitely no reason for them to be calling my aunt (or me -as her nominee) & especially not, at this time of night and certainly no excuse, at any time to be disrespectful. I have called the number from my own (2 different) phones, to try and verify its authenticity - and it was a 'false' automated message, saying that they tried to contact me (which obviously they didn't, as I was just checking their number) and if they still need to, they would contact me again! ...This is a disgrace and not a professional call. This is especially a concern, when TPS is supposed to be active.

Just had these fools ring me on my mobile saying, ' you sent a text to BT' no I didn't as I have there free phone phone number!!! Sounds like a call centre with foreign accent!!! At least I can block the number on my mobile..lol!!!

They keep ringing at 8 / 9pm daily ... I just wait for answer machine to take call but they just hang up !!!

Genuinely is BT. Jst took the call and it was regarding rearranging an engineers visit so nothing dodgy
