very odd indeed. This number phoned my mobile and left a message on my answer phone telling me that I have an outstanding bill of £60 and they would like to discuss my letter of complaint......odd thing is I don't have/ nor have i ever had a BT account, let alone sent them a letter of complaint!!!! I might now though! Could be a mistake at BT or a scam. Be weary.

I got a call from this number of Christmas day.  They asked if I was a Mr S Grove, I said I was not.  So they said that I owe them some money.  Even though I was not "Mr S Grove", so I asked how do I owe them money?  A total of £571.  They would not tell me what company they were, but the fact is.  I am not "Mr S Grove", so I am confused as to how I owe them money.  Also, it sounded like it was in a call centre.

They're calling my mobile and I don't believe it's BT.  Even if it is it's a shoddy call centre in India, hardly professional and certainly not standards I'd expect or accept from BT.  I owe nothing because I pay by DD, there's no problem with the line and my broadband works fine, so there's no reason to call me.  Just rang BT customer services they have no record of the call or why they are calling me but promised they'd remove my mobile from their records.

It's registered with TPS, if they want to contact me they should write or call my landline.

I am sick fed up of daily calls, often dozens of times from Indian call centres.  I've had enough of it, every major organisation in the UK from banks, financial organisations, utility companies and now BT sub-contract work out to Indian call centres who make it their business to harass and p1ss people off.  I don't give a [***] about providing work to these people, not when it involves harassing me.  I'm considering changing my mobile and giving the number to nobody because it will just end up in the hands of irritating Indian call centres.

yes this is indeed BT, just an automated msg telling me my line had been reconnected and there was no need to ring them.

This number started calling me after I called BT asking for a braodband migration code.  I'vel sot count of the number of different people I've spoken to when I've rung them trying to get a migration code.  Initally they said my contract had been renewed back in September so I'd have to pay termination fees.  Then they said they'd raised an issue on my account to have the renewal investigated a I didn't renew it. The first call from this number was from someone in the escalations department telling me they had investigated it and cancelled the renewal so it was OK to request a migration code but I had to call BT AGIAN(!) to request it.  Ever since then I've been getting daily phone calls from this number as they try & persuade me to stay with them.  Over a week after my original request I'm still waiting for the code!  if they call me again today they will get an earful.

Yeap - good ole BT phoned me using this number after I made a complaint & asked them to e/mail me.....Hum?

Been getting more & more regular cold calls from Kitchen Company's - you know Kitchens Direct & Space Kitchens and the silent ones from....oh let me think Kithcens Direct. So, asked if BT could do something, as the calls were becomming rude/offensive - so what do BT suggest? They try and sell me a package to stop unwanted calls!!!!!!!

I later discover (from a BT source no less) that BT may be the one's who are leaking?Q / selling?Q phone numbers to Kitchen Company's & telesales Company's in the fist place - even if your ex-directory!!!!!!

Having complained twice now, BT are stalling me and asking whats my phone number by e/mail (when its already been provided & they've phoned me on it?)
AND again want to sell me a package. my problem was with the unwanted sales calls BUT now its BT who have upset me more!

Looked at SKY - their service seems to be well reccommend for phones.........

I had a call from someone saying they were from BT retail asking to verify my business details, which I refused. I called BT 0800 800 150 and asked if it was one of their numbers, they said that it wasn't.

Appears to be a hoax - beware and don't give out details

Answered after the 20th attempt and it was BT saying that they had reconnected my service - I missed the bill payment just before Xmas and they reduced my service to incoming calls only. Don't forget to pay you bills!

The number is a BT number.

I recently phoned bt asking for my MAC code as i wanted to move elsewhere as i felt the price of my broadband was too high they told me i was still in contract i asked them how could i be in contract with them when ive had there broadband for over 4 years and that i have never agreed to extending my contract therefor i am entitled to my MAC code.

I was then told but you moved home this automatically puts you into a 12 month contract with BT i disagreed and told them i would take it further and if it was'nt resolved i would contact Otelo, Telecommunications Ombudsman i was then told we dont deal with your query but we can get someone from the right department to call you back within the next 5 working days.

Surprise Surprise i recieved a call on my mobile phone from 08000285085 which is BT i also requested they phone me on that number rather than phoning my home telephone so all i can say to those paranoid people who are claiming that there phones have been hacked etc is chill errors are made or somthing could have been wrong with your line at some point without you even noticing a problem or you made an enquiry or complaint that was never resolved and they are trying to contact you.

I understand people getting pissed at nuisance calls but when someone is trying to get a hold of you by phone but cant because your too paranoid to pick it up in fear that its some sales rep or even the boogey man himself and then you wonder why they keep calling ? is'nt it obvious why they keep calling ? yes, no
they cant get a hold of you so keep trying untill they do

This number called my landline while I was dozing so I ignored it. My mobile then was called from the same number which I ignored and then they called my landline again. No messages left.

Judging by the comments previously it was probably BT as I've just sent a letter giving one month's notice to cancel my line and they are probably wanting to try and get me to stay (even though in my letter I said to only contact me via email!!!).

Cancelling as I have a mobile and Broadband through cable. What's the point of line rental?!?!

    Cheers.

Just got called from this number, on my office phone. Said they were BT and wanted to discuss my outstanding bill.
Then they asked for my name.
How could I have an outstanding bill if they didn't know who they were calling?
I told him he had the wrong number and he again asked for my name.I said goodbye!

I have returned home to find this number 08000285085 on my phone four times in the past week. After phoning BT today I was told that it was from them and that it could be a sales call or maybe about my broadband as the contract is due to end next month.

I got a call from this number and they left a message - it was from BT customer services. I believe this number to be genuine, just coincidental about the dodgy cut offs etc.

I received a BOGUS call from an India woman who claimed that BT wanted to update my details. My phone is on T-Mobile. IF YOU GET A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE DO NOT ANSWER IT. IT IS A FRAUD.

This number is GENUINELY BT. And finance department in particular. I phoned to BT customer care and they confirmed it. Well, if you are getting calls from there and DO NOT  HAVE AN ACCOUNT WITH BT, listen to them!! IT MAY MEAN SOMEONE'S OPENED ACCOUNT WITH YOUR DETAILS!!! I was told I/my company (I don't have a company) has an unpaid bill of £17000 for 'our' line in Edinburgh (never been to Edinburgh, nor have any contracts with BT in Edinburgh or anywhere else for that matter). Someone had given my phone/e-mail details as an account holder details!!!
They said they are going to note that and remove my details, but I will be contacting police just in case as this could affect my credit ratings if it comes back to haunt me. I am also closing my e-mail account andthinking of changing my number to be on the safe side.
